thanks to Bobby for really giving that Terrapin a little special extra. He was really playing some nice arpeggios and fills. Was at Dallas and Austin, and on y way to Nawlins before John's illness, and all I can say is I pray for more tours. John is getting better with each show, and its just damn fun to watch him enjoy the music. Remember the fun you had when you tried to get a friend into the dead, and you watched that moment when he finally got it, and you can see the lightning bolt go down his head, that's the way I feel with John, so fun to watch him discover this music. Jerry is watching knowing we are in good hands with Bob and John. Please please let it continue.
I was in the hospital Sunday night, hooked to monitors and chemicals-outta my mind with anxiety. Pulled this up on tablet and everything got better. Nurse came in and asked, are you a Deadhead? Hell yeah, I said. "On the bus since '71". She said "Far out, Dude" My grandpa turned me on the music when I was 5..Her name is Cassidy ! Thanks, Boys !!
I have not been totally sold on Mayer's vocal deliveries but he just nails this Lady With a Fan, nicely done! His guitar work has become other worldly with this band.
Amazing Terrapin. Bob's guitar playing is phenomenal, and his voice is loud and clear as well. This audience tape captured the sound better than the soundboard. A rarity.
It will never b the same without Jerry & Brent but we got to love this band regardless because we wouldn’t have the Gratefuldead songs without them ! 😊
How many rows up are you? I love this perspective....it's not so clean as the NUGS videos, it more true to actually being there, including the occasional conversation and audience chatter that our old bootlegs used to have.
How about the set lists!? I did NYC and Philly... My buddy was a lil drunk when he pointed to I-95 when leaving Philly. I was like "south man, we are heading back to Scranton, gotta hit 476. It was only the next day that I was like FUCK ME! He was right.... A straight shot to Boston.. oh well, I'm awaiting the FALL tour.. lol.. Maybe a full summer run???
I love it if it’s the end or the beginning because we as humans don’t know much about this world we live on ! It’s going to hell in a hand basket ! We r domed if all the volcanoes on this earth explode all at once
Yea, that's a great concept that Hunter came up with, and Garcia executed. Now only if we could actually *hear* Mickey then the line in question would work! Until then, he's up there swinging at random drums at random times with random stupid sticks. ;-)
Actually Hunter was talking about the liberty bell and the principles our country were founded on,and to remember them and not exchange for anarchy, socialism tec... But the words will also work in this application
Briandrum: I'm not a hater, and I have loved the Grateful Dead from the early '70's, (25+shows) and saw Dead and Co.'s last tour Phoenix 5/29/17, and I have seen Mickey a couple of times on his solo tours, and I am convinced he is more than a little deaf and has lost his sense of rhythm . The dumb sticks and the lack of cymbals quiet him down. Billy and Oteil keep the beat. Example of Mickey completely off beat messing up the drum solo: The Phoenix Show 5/28 /17 Samson and Delilah 4:40 in jam.buzz/listen-dead-companys-blazing-show-phoenix-5282017-full-show-aud/
mayer is getting skinny. his shirt is hanging on him like a hanger. he needs to stay fit. he has a long career ahead of him with this gig. weir is ready to join the audience. he deserves it, he passed on his craft.

With all due respect to John Mayer, he has been a shredder before he joined D&C.

Bob, major respect. But "Inspiration" needs to come in on 1. Sing it loud, sing it strong.

I *really* wish Mickey would stop using those damn "stupid sticks"/heavy brushes and either use mallets or good old DRUM STICKS!!
"If you get confused, just listen to the Music play"

As always his meanings are ambiguous and can mean many things to many people😎
