I do not understand the point of this video...4 kayaks is simply not enough kayaks ;) Great rational explaination for those of who hasn't caught the disease :)
I have two at the moment I agree totally about having more than one I use the perception 15 for coaching my scouts and for my personal use use fiberglass low volume j nautica Neptunia which is fast and easy to roll next one will be the rebel ilaga hopfully this year.
I have two kayaks right now, but I will probably be selling my cheap rec kayak in the spring because I haven't used it since I bought my Wilderness Systems Tsunami 165. I would like to find an old WS Zephyr or a Dagger Stratos for surf zones and rock gardens though.
Yes, you can get by with only one kayak, BUT you have to build it yourself ;) Björn Thomassons Njord, preferably with a ocean cockpit, will do very well for most situations. But for rockhopping, you probarbly want a plastic also ;)
I mostly do traditional Greenland kayaking but here are som lists. Starting with speed #1 Rebel Ilaga #2 Valley Nordkapp #3 Valley Anas Acuta #4 Valley Gemini A list for rolling #1 Ilaga #2 Anas Acuta #3 Gemini #4 Nordkapp A list for packing gear #1 Nordkapp #2 Gemini #3 Anas Acuta #9 Ilaga
@@jmjmjmjm If you are a small and light person the Ilaga may work as an ”everyday” kayak. But for an overnight trip you are going to need very small gear. It works in surf but with the low amount of rocker it’s not very good. Here is a video were I’m out in a small surf with the Ilaga. th-cam.com/video/839n5IU2wOY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for a nice video again. Will you do a similar video on paddles?
Thanks. A good suggestion.

You can also check the Valley Gemini SP or P&H Delphine. Both kayaks good for surf and rock gardening.
@@JonasAlexanderson If only those were in my budget... Due to my finances, I have to stick to used kayaks that are under $1000.

@@JonasAlexanderson Thanks! So do you think the Ilaga could be a "everyday" kayak? how is it in surf or agitated sea?

You could never have enough.. now, how about paddles? 😅
I do have a few paddles but tend to use only two. My Greenland paddle (Gram Kayak) for most use and AquaBound with big blades for use when surfing.
