    Moved the ball way forward to try the first drill. Thought, how am I supposed to hit that. But, hit the ball flush, and seems to be solving all sorts of problems. Thanks for another great drill

    This was a great session. I've been struggling with Feel & Real as it relates to the release, this video helped a ton. Adam is an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G coach!.

    Thank you for this. Timing couldn't have been much better. Dealing with a left ankle injury, and found that my weight was favoring my back leg had caused some terrible things to happen through contact (mainly chunked shots). This helped me put my swing in a much better place so thank you.

    The hammer the nail drill is one I use often, I have a tendency to feel disconnected and lose the feeling of the club face, This drill always brings me back in line.

    How does the lead wrist and thumb get from pointing out front, and behind to a square position of down the line and at the ball? Isn't there some loss of angle and rotation of the lead wrist?

    Coach, in the beginning of your video, it listed the early release symptoms. I "think" I have a late release issue. Would i think to release earlier i.e. before the ball, trail leg etc as a feel instead of where your student felt which was after?

  • @LBJC
    @LBJC ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure if you’ll see this question Adam, and this sounds odd, but is the downswing feel for you a push or a pull? You often mention turning through the shot from the top, but in relation to your hands, do you feel like you’re pushing through the ball or pulling the club through knuckles down?

  • @kj475
    @kj475 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Are you actively unloading your wrist angles from shaft parallel to get the clubhead to the ball or is it all momentum?

    Adam, i am having trouble with my right elbow in transition. I can get the shaft over the ball, right elbow bent, but after that I am lost. Am I extending the right elbow from there ?? Does it stay at 90 degrees through impact. Does it extend to 35 or 25 degrees to release?? just kinda lost with this transition. Thanks.

      So if I’m dragging handle too much it could be I need more rotation? Thx

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Often times, people who drag the handle through impact are people who give up the angle too early in transition. Make sure you set the club and create the appropriate angle between the lead arm and club in the takeaway and make sure you maintain good angle in transition… you will then be able to rotate and release the club accordingly

    Releasing “late” somehow allows me to rotate better and come more inside.

  • @Rich-in6ds

    I tried these techniques and found the face was wildly open at impact. What is the correct feeling to square the face?

    • @aleksilepisto7282
      @aleksilepisto7282 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don’t do this, that’s correct.
      Haha. The way he’s showing it you’d have no chance to actually hit it. As you’ve discovered.
      Let the club square up and release more by your back leg, not trying to force it to the front leg.
      The turn brings the hands forward. It’s an optical illusion and I have no idea why they still teach this.

    • @matthewkeller2453

      6:30 he goes over this fault. I have been guilty of it for a long time. The forward sway trying to create shaft lean.

    • @texasblackchip-gregmoore9871
      @texasblackchip-gregmoore9871 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your hitting with a wide open face your too open at impact I focus on straightening my right arm (I’m right handed)

    • @dubriders2
      @dubriders2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      1. Check grip
      2. Make sure you're not opening the face in your backswing or downswing
      3. You also have to be rotating and getting your lead hip moving back and out of the way.

    There’s vernacular in teaching these days (“Hand/traditional release” vs. “body release”). Sounds like what you’re saying is that both come into play. Is that a correct assessment???

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By using the Hammering the Nail Drill, we like the grip of the club to hammer into the wall before the club head naturally releases! So to answer your question, we like the club to release after the ball.
