The solo exhibition periodically showcases Xu Zhen's artistic creation, while acknowledging and summarizing the core of his practice, "Ecosystem as Medium." The introduction of this concept makes clear Xu Zhen's long-term holistic thinking that connects his work spanning art making, curation, operation of gallery, art museum, and art media. As the artist personally undergoes the reform and opening up, rise of Western interest in China, globalization, and neo-geopolitics, the iteration of social background and ideology collectively constitutes the ecology of human subsistence. Xu Zhen then translates this macro ecology into the medium of his own practice, thus creatively stirring up the relationship between art and society. In this sense, his work expands the meaning and scope of an artist's work, and attempts to mobilize global audiences to re-understand the peculiarity and necessity of artistic practice within the current global and Chinese social realities.

本次个展阶段性地展现徐震的艺术创作，旨在肯定和总结其艺术实践的核心“生态作为媒介”。此概念的提出，明确了徐震⻓期以来贯通艺术创作、策展、画廊、美术馆、艺术媒体等各种工作的总体性思考。从艺术家亲历的改革开放、中国热、全球化到新地缘政治，时代背景和意识形态的迭代共同构成了人类存续的生态，徐震将此宏观生态转译为自身实践的媒介，创造性地搅动艺术与社会的关系。从而，徐震的工作拓展了艺术家的工作意义和创作范围，试图动员全球观众重新认识当下全球及中国社会现实中艺术实践的特殊性和必要性。
