Fantastic, nothing can add the atmosphere to a night time seen like a steam loco can. Wonderful to see. You certainly braved some not so nice weather for some of these shots, but hell it was worth it! Steam locos bring so much atmosphere to a wet and windy night, the steam lingering around the platforms and tracks, plus the light from the fire lighting up the cab and the steam billowing back over the top of the engine. Thanks so much for these shots, i really have enjoyed watching them.
Thanks so much for this excellent video. It took me back to the mid 50's when on my way to school some dark winter mornings the Hereford Paddington express in the charge of an immaculate Castle would stop at Henwick level crossing for our delectation! Brass gleaming, cylinder cocks open and the firebox reflecting off the exhaust - what a sight.
Thanks for sharing a beaut video. Nice to see Newark Northgate, my home town station (even in the rain.) I can still vividly remember the smell of the smoke. 🐨🇦🇺
Fantastic!!, brings back memories from my childhood in the 50's, scampering out of bed at all hours of the night to watch the express thunder past the window in Leicester.
2:34 can someone please tell me what that is in the sky? left of the train in the sky, theres this weird object that looks like a carrier bag and it just vanishes?

As a driver, I can not believe the idiots who use a flash whilst taking a photo! It's dangerous and these plonkers should be found & fined🤬. They take stupidity to the highest level. Anyway, excellent video.
steam locals r very k. unfortunately in the states there are not as many still running the tracks. Today, out-dated pieces of useless garbage collecting debris from a developed nation!

A lovely sequence, well done guys. 11.00, 17.50 and 18.01 each would make a beautiful "impressionist" still, worthy of any gallery wall.
An absolutely magical 20 minutes. Steam is always special but at night, an amazing atmosphere.
Although a Diesel buff, this Steam video was absolutely magnificent and so enjoyable.
Thank you for taking the arthritic pain away !!
Powerful, exciting the romance of steam travel, at speed, at night! Wonderful footage, superbly filmed. Great video, thank you.

Excellent night time footage Liam
Magnificent from start to finish, a superb compilation, thanks Liam and Phil. Kind regards, Bob.
The Duchess and A4 are super engines at full speed, but Tornado makes fast look so easy.
Fantastic!!, brings back memories from my childhood in the 50's, scampering out of bed at all hours of the night to watch the express thunder past the window in Leicester.
Used my new headphones...just wonderful! Usual grateful thanks to everyone involved for their efforts!
Great to see the smaller tank engines given a chance to stretch their legs and shine on the mainline. Good video!
I remember it so well racing through the night, heading to London or Southampton to join a ship when I was a young steward. Beautifully re-enacted.
Fantastic video
