exactly. and i respect the time and thought he put in to it. Some writers would make you think these guys are freaking GOD and just do shit in the past without any consequences and giving us a giant middle finger
The convoluted plot is one of the things that always kept me interested in series. It's like I'm putting together a puzzle and every time I start to see an image, more pieces get thrown at me. Thank you for this video. It was very enjoyable and did an awesome job at clearing things up. Riku is a badass for conquering the darkness and ruining Xehanort's plot. Love him even more now.
kh games have been canon since the start. zelda games originally were just legends that werent suppose to come together, eventually nintendo decided to turn them all cannon to each other.
Zelda's timeline doesn't even know what itself is, because there wasn't originally meant to BE a timeline at all. Kingdom Hearts (while 3D screwed it up a little), at least has a solid, understandable timeline.
Rag Ark Except all of Zelda's branched timelines never happen at the same "time". One of the branches actually happens outside of the game's ending. Nintendo had to literally change what was canon in order for the timeline to work.
Raul Rojas And now THAT makes sense. I both love and hate Nomura. He has complete control over all my favorite Square Franchises and I sit here waiting patiently (for years) for him to throw us a bone. T_T
Putting time travel in there seems like a giant retcon. In KH1 we killed Xehanort's Heartless, but now he's back. In KH2 we killed Xemnas, but now he's back. We also killed Saïx and Xigbar, but now they're back. We killed Lexaeus and Xaldin while Axel was responsible for the deaths of Vexen and Zexion and ended up dying himself protecting Sora, but I can understand the "Heartless and Nobody form a Somebody" concept, so I get why Lea, Aeleus, Even, Dilan, and Ienzo awoke in Ansem's Study. But I don't get why Master Xehanort, who vanished and took form as Terranort in KHBBS, somehow appears in Where Nothing Gathers at the end of KH3D. Well, this revival does reinforce the "nobody dies in Kingdom Hearts" idea, I guess. I really can't bring myself to understand the concept of time travel as it is used here. I also can't tell what's real from what's being dreamt. It bugs me a bit, but I am still a loyal Kingdom Hearts fan nonetheless, and I really look forward to having my questions answered in Kingdom Hearts 3!
They answered it pretty well imo. Those who were recompleted as nobodies became nobodies again post-KH2 and had their hearts replaced by Xehanort. When Xemnas was defeated, Master-Xehanort was recompleted with Xehanorts body that was cast away in BBS. Terra-Xehanort was also recompleted after Xemnas's defeat, and still bore Master Xehanorts heart since they technically shared a body.
That was a great explanation video. Before seeing this video, I had only heard about the time travel theory, but GameTrailers and KHInsider have done a great job elaborating on this mystery, and doing so, illuminated several of the clouded parts of the convoluted plot of the Kingdom Hearts series. I am sooo pumped for the next mystery!
Amazing, thank you! I love the series, but I also had some problems with these rules of time traveling - and I had such a big "ooooh" moment in the video, that I now fully understand what is going on there. Thank you so much!
I know, right? The only OG organization member that can actively control time. Also, he survived longer than Xigbar but shorter than Saix. He has to be a member.
Matthew Smith They have, but members such as TheGamersJoint and SkywardWing don't know so much about the lore, which leads to some pointless discussions while HMK is the only, true knowledgeable member. I mean, in a TGJ video, "Will sora and kairi kiss in kingdom hearts 3" or "Why does Roxas look like ventus" Some stupid, some pointless, and some that are common knowledge already.
I love Kingdom Hearts, but the inclusion of time travel was a mistake, and the method used overly convoluted. I hope it was just something used in DDD to set up the things necessary for KH3 and we don't hear much about it in that game.
+keybladesrus It's not that confusing: * the user removes times grasp on them by leaving their body or have a version of them do so. "Ansem"* then the get to make one jump once the jump is complete they can only go forward (Which is why young xehanort lands in BBS)* You cannot change destined events* This one loops with 3. Pretty much time travel resolves and the timeline is fixed (this is why nothing can be changed.) but your experience is etched into your heart
Okay real question, I understand that to time travel a version of yourself needs to be present at the place&time you want to go plus you need to cast off your body, so apprentice xeahnort turned himself into a heart to travel back to his youngest most self to set him on his path but why is it that youngX doesnt need to cast his body away to gather all the versions of himself through time? and why is it that in the white room those other versions of Xeahnort have their bodies? and last question heres the big one, WHAT VERSION OF XEAHNORT WAS PRESENT AT THE TIME OF DESTINY ISLAND'S DESTRUCTION THAT ALLOWED HIM TO BE THERE!? WHICH APPARENTLY SET ALL OF THIS IN MOTION!! I love this fucking series so much and I legit want to understand this shit for real!
It's not so much that a heart is the only thing with the ability to time travel but only a person with a separated heart can learn it. So Ansem Seeker of Darkness threw his heart into the past and got the ability and gave it to his youngest self. I think of it like a tunnel where a heart has to be the first to break through but then it opens the ability for everyone body. (I feel like I'm doing trigonometry with that explanation with juggling events/numbers) And the version of Xehanort at the time was Xemnas and Ansem seeker of darkness. You don't have to be in that world. Just have some part of you present at the time frame.
I'm good with most of this, but there's still one point I'm stuck on: If KH time travel doesn't allow travel to the future, why was Young Xehanort able to go to his future to recruit his team?
Technically from Young Xehanort's perspective, he is going to the future. But what Jered is extrapolating might be the best explanation. Apparently you can go to some future point in your own timeline, but not beyond.
I think that there is only one unique present that right now is the end of DDD, and that you can't go beyond this present but a past version of you can go to this present, from that person's perspective it's actually the future
Easy, Fall asleep, Send your heart into the Dream Realm (Timeless Area), Meet up with a version of yourself, ech memories into the heart, and send it back to your body..now you remember what you did in the future now in the past....Talk about Time travel hacking...
I have moved at the speed of darkness and I'm commenting on this video in 2018. Before I return to my time in 2015 let me just say, Xehanort "13 Hocruxes" mixed with some timey whimey shenanigans is quite something to wrap your head around. Execution is the guiding key Nomura, and you have seemed to have lost everybody in the convolution.
There was a scene in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance where Riku was in a kind of time loop. But I dont understand how he got into it. He saw how events started to repeat the same way as before. But didnt question it. I have to guess that Riku was in the Traverse Town, in a sleep state. But I couldnt figure it out how Riku was caught in a kind of looping of events.
Young Xehanort: I'm from the past. Player: OMG, this is so convoluted and confusing, it's impossible to understand what's going on! Young Xehanort: ...Are you serious right now? Player: So many paradoxes! Young Xehanort: WHAT paradoxes? This method can't change what's been established-- Player: This plot is so self-contradicting and it sucks because I say so! Young Xehanort: Okay, screw this, I'm out. (Leaves) Sora: ..........So... does this mean we win?
I have a mystery: Can anyone explain the Sleeping Worlds and their significance and why these particular worlds were chosen in khddd? I mean we've been to the other worlds in a similar fashion, which can unlock dreams of these worlds, but then there's La Cite Des Cloches which has no connection to anything prior whatsoever. And then if Destiny Islands wasn't fully restored, how was Kairi flourishing and moving around on Destiny Islands during KHII?
In KH I ending Sora managed to save the worlds from the darkness Ansem, Seeker of Darkness created. But some worlds didn't make it as well as others, so they entered a sleep state to try to keep themselves safe - those are the sleeping worlds. Their significance is what you see in DDD: awakening them is Sora's and Riku's Mark of Mastery test. Destiny Island did fully restore at the end of KH I. They didn't travel there to awaken it, they traveled there before it was taken by the darkness (beginning of KH I). Since Ansem, Seeker of Darkness was there (in the brown robe) he was able to hijack their test. Hope I helped!
Back to the Future made time travel less complicated; a DeLorean, a flux capacitor, and that's it (just don't bang your mom.). the Legend of Zelda and Harry Potter made time travel less complicated; using only magical items to go through time. however, when Kingdom Hearts tries time travel, it becomes dumb and complicated. it does become simple to understand, but its rules are unnecessary and meaningless. P.S.: If i had the ability to travel through time (as in the past or future, you name it.), you can imagine what i would love to do with that power: WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT. wouldn't you?
Except both BTTF and Harry Potters time travel, while simple for the layman is broken as all fuck. (Not gonna explain here but just do a quick google search) The reason why KH has all those rules is so it doesn't make it a paradox and thus not broken, like BTTF and HP.
The thing about Time Travel in Harry Potter is, it was perfectly fine before the Cursed Child was written. It worked in a similar fashion to KH3D's time travel, you could only go in one direction and you couldn't change the past, only help it to become what it already is. Then the Cursed Child came along and made it more like Back to the Future's time travel.
I understand Ansem going back in time and granting the power to Young xehanort, but how were all the Xehanorts - obviously with their bodies - able to move to the present?
"It is not possible to travel to the future from the present" Who stated that? We can see both Ansem and Xemnas in KH3, and that's obviously the future (unless they had a specific reason to travel back in time again)
having played all the games in the series, I was really good at understanding the confusing aspects of the Kindom Hearts story, but this one really left me confused haha.
Ground Rules, TL;DR Version: 1.Must be a disembodied heart or a heartless 2.No future travel 3.No messing with destiny (and thus no paradoxes) 4.Only the heart remembers traveling 5.Must exist in time you go to Basically, a pretty sucky time travel system...
Ki1bo Young Xehanort traveled to the present day, not to the future. You can't travel past the furthest point in time, that's what they mean when saying you can't travel to the future.
But hey, at least it's a stable time loop instead of the weird timeline-changing type that we usually see. No accidental alternate realities for Kingdom Hearts, no sir!
Steff but there had to be a version of himself then right? Who was that version? It’s not Young Xehanort since we know he’s super old and almost dies of old age at the end of BBS
Why can't these games have simple, straight forward narratives? I'm all for mysteries, but anytime I have to use a graph or spreadsheet, it's gone a little too far.
Man I hope they remaster/re-release Dream Drop Distance, don't get me wrong I played it on the 3DS fantastic but the lack of the option to use the thumbsticks to rotate the camera makes it really hard for me to enjoy it as much as I should have, same with Birth By Sleep and Peace Walker they felt complete when they got ported to a console.
The 3DS had an add-on that includes a second circle pad (called the Circle Pad Pro), but the New 3DS has a second stick (of sorts) of its own that works the same way. Really though, that's the 3DS' fault more than the game's fault.
***** and that's one of the reasons i would really appreciate it if it was ported so it would be better optimized, although the 3D functions would be gone, it looked ok
GameTrailers Your videos are always so fun to watch. Especially when they involve my favorite game series! I hope you keep this series going, it seems really interesting. Keep up the good work!
But Sora and Riku DID travel back in time, as stated by Goofy and the Report entries. They had to travel back to when Destiny Islands was swallowed by Darkness in order to get into the Sleeping Realm.
"First a person must exist only as a heart, so they have to abandon their body and soul before anything else." This is what I dont get, Ansem SoD (heartless) time traveled, but he is a heartless (no heart) so how was he able to time travel? what?? Or it doesnt necessarily mean that the heart itself should time travel, but the being formed from separating one's self would be able to do so? Does it mean Xemnas (Nobody) can also time travel?
Pureblood Heartless technically are hearts, so it stands to reason a Heartless (if it was sentient like Ansem SoD) could time travel. Besides that, once Ansem SoD gained the ability to time travel, he gave to Young Xehanort, which allowed him to time travel without giving up his body. It's a kind of loophole in the laws of time travel, if one version of yourself can time travel then any version can, and Xehanort exploits in order to ensure he has enough vessels for when he needs them.
+Russel Orodio The Robed Figure is the one who time traveled. The Robed Figure is Xehanort's heart. He later willingly succumbed to to darkness in his heart and became a Heartless, and became the Ansem SoD we all know and love.
What I wonder, is how could young Xehanort have planned all this out, changing some key destined events, by gathering the vessels, when this is against the rules of Time travel? Ansem SoD gave young Xehanort the power to time travel, changing young Xehanort. But how could Xehanort have sent Ansem SoF back in time, when young Xehanort never learned everything to make this happen?
Sander Cookie Xehanort is a very intelligent person who knows an extremely large amount of the scientific aspect of the heart, body, soul, light, and darkness. I think it's safe to say that he knew about time travel as well. Ansem SoD is Xehanort's disembodied heart.
Sander Cookie He didn't actually change any destined events, just helped them to become what they already were. Xehanort subconsciously remembers everything his young self witnessed while time traveling, and as a result the choices he made throughout his life all led to the future his young self witnessed.
+Killua Zoldyck Didn't Xehanort's Heartless do it?The cloaked man that told Sora "One who knows nothing can understand nothing" in the cave was Xehanort's Heartless, which allowed him to travel back in Time to that moment and put the sigil on him.
Leave it to a villain from a Disney-Related game whose name starts with x to be Xanatos Gambit Chessmaster, but damn, for the entire plot of the series to be one huge xanatos gambit, that's nutso!(and heavily contrived)
so wait how dose the other incarnations such as Siax and Xigbar get a part of Xehanort? and how do the incarnations actually meet at one place? Do they all just travel through the realm of sleep? this is actually the only thing I dont get.
+Jeanna Lee Well, We know Vexen, Lexeaus, Xaldin and Zexion (now back to being somebodies again) helped Lea catch up to Riku and help him and Mickey save Sora. So presumably those four are now good guys and will be supporting characters in Kingdom Hearts 3. We can assume the others are either among Xehanort's 13 darknesses along with Isa and Braig or they are wandering the worlds trying to avoid Xehanort/Xemnas. Personally, considering Lea now has a keyblade and is working with Sora's group, I'd like to think one of the subplots of KH3 may be Lea exploring the other worlds searching for the Organization 13 members who have returned to being somebodies in the hopes of finding new allies. You know, like he'd be going from world to world looking for Larxene's somebody or Marluxia's or Demyx's somebody and he'd tell them they need help fighting Xehanort? I think it'd be awesome!
SShaBazzz He summons his keyblade at the end of Dream Drop Distance. It just sort of pops into his hand right after he says he couldn't get it to materialize.
AsylumDog see I didn't see that part. The only thing I saw was him hold out his glorified shuriken a and produced a hologram sort of blade on it. It wasn't a real malleable blade. It was see through.
They time traveled back to Destiny Islands (thanks to Yen Sid) right before they were engulfed by the darkness, so they could enter the Realm of Sleep as the Islands entered this realm.
Sorry to annoy but when will the metal gear timeline come? You could start by making a solid snake timeline and later making a big boss one after phantom pain comes out
You said that they can't time travel to the future in the beginning of the video, but all of Xehanort's incarnations met by traveling from their times to the future. Can anyone explain what I'm missing?
Correct me if I'm wrong: So we meet Master Xehanort, Terranort nobody, "riku-terranort" heartless, Isa , Braig, etc. And those versions are yet to be defeated in their time except Isa and Braig right? (and maybe other somebodies who were nobodies before). Because when they return they won't remember anything.
Actually, Isa and Braig were from after their respective Nobodies were destroyed. In 2.5's Re:coded cutscenes, there's a new cutscene that shows Young Xehanort talking to Braig in Ansem's Lab, with the other members of Organization XIII lying unconscious around them.
Prince Sora Lucis Caelum, the Crystal Keybearer Yep, seems true enough. Btw has the xehanort from KH3 intro time travelled yet? Because in a flashback in KHDDD he is young/ adult and he says "this world is so litlle" or something like that.
Prince Sora Lucis Caelum, the Crystal Keybearer So the Xehanort we see at the beach of Destiny Islands has already met Eraqus or at least hs explored other worlds
Can somebody translate the word "Lore" to me please, I noticed this word is often used with the KH story? I searched on WordReference and I still have no clue what it means. Thanks.
Am I the only one to not get confused by these games? I've played them all except CoM and coded. I mean it's confuseing at first but once you play them pretty much everything gets some sort of explaination.
Alex Fraser About the "return to your body" thing, that would be right. Since you can't actually change anything that leads up to whatever future you see, you HAVE to return to your proper place for causality's sake. The laws of time themselves kinda force your hand on that point.
+Alex Fraser No, not at all. Yes, you can go back to the present, but you can't regain your body back. The Robed Figure went back to the present and then succumbed to the darkness and became a Heartless, which is the Ansem, Seeker of Darkness we all know and love.
Alex Fraser If the private "Ansem Reports" he wrote are anything to go by, it wasn't an act. But the feelings connected to those lost memories were definitely still around, and that's probably what got Braig thinking it was an act. I don't think he was even in any sort of sound mind when he conjured his Keyblade all of a sudden, the way he insanely claimed that his name was "Ansem". If he ever got all his memories back at all, it was probably sometime after he became a Heartless.
My brain... and I thought Interstellar was mind-blowing already... I really have to replay all of the games in order to remember what the hell is going on.
And that is why Multiverse is the only way to handle time Travel correctly. Well, maybe not the only one, but the most viewer friendly. It contradicts itself just way too muc, ending in paradox after paradox.
Kingdom Hearts story is completely fucked. I enjoy a good mystery and intrigue as much as the next guy but it's just gotten to the point where its stupid.
time travel is contradicting, especially on not changing major events, considering that xeanorts heartless was defeated in kh1. the only way this could have worked is if after becoming a heartless he scoured for data on what he needed, the lost masters, the organization, sora's journey. he then repeatidly went back and saw the little diffrences that could be made, finaly he went to his younger self and transfered all the knowledge to him. he later gose back and send sora on his way and later poseing riku and is defeated. this is where the contradiction of changing major events comes in and actually says no time travel couldn't have happened. However this also proves destiny can changed since riku wasn't chosen by the key blade, roxas merged with sora and so forth. Be happy kh3 has not been affected by time travel the end of dream drop distance is where it ended.
Why wasn't Terra-Xehanort or apprentice xehanort, restored following the destruction of his heartless and nobody, or Braig, or Isa like Lea and the the others?
Just when you thought the story couldn't get any more complex, they threw time travel into the mix to lose you even further lol
That's when they fucked up imo. Time travel? What the fucking shit!?!? whos idea was that!??!
gamerprince1999 I actually like it. I mean be honest... where the fuck else were they gonna go with this? and it has a cool twist behind it.
prophetjamz94 At least Nomura had the decency to include limitations on what could and couldn't be done.

thank god game trailers and khinsider came together to release these beautiful videos thats narrated and voiced so well.

Pieces of memories.

To anyone who says the Zelda timeline is confusing yeah this really overtakes it by a factor of 10
Uuhh, no.
I would have to disagree. LoZ has three timelines. All which are canonical.

I read this and was about to go click on the next video before it I got it. dang it that was funny
Raul Rojas Number 13 is Cyclops. Marvel is owned by Disney, He has given in to the darkness, and the X in his uniform is a recursant sigil.

0:41 - 0:51 There, he said it plainly and clearly and yet people STILL won't understand.
Now, I adore the series. I can't get enough of it and I just love it.
But..... What the fuck? I could barely follow any of that!
NOMURAAAAAAAAA!!!
Biggest mystery in KH:
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING A WORLD COMPLETELY ABOUT SINGING?!
+Kris Man Because it's fun.
Kris Hearing Sora sing was the best thing ever!
*UNDA DA SEA*
I think it's because it's a nice break from the intense grind of levels. A level where you just kind of relax and enjoy.
Hahaha jokes on you. Now we have a whole game about it
Amazing, thank you! I love the series, but I also had some problems with these rules of time traveling - and I had such a big "ooooh" moment in the video, that I now fully understand what is going on there. Thank you so much!
Because the only thing the Kingdom Hearts story needed was time travel.
I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS!
0:29 I had to chuckle pretty hard at that... he retconned so many times while contradicting a lot that was established before.
If Luxord isn't secretly an important character, then... well I would just be disappointed
Who was Luxord again ?

He wasn't that great of a character...
I so do hope KH Mysteries will become a thing
Ever heard of the X-Keepers, they are a group of 5 TH-camrs which have been doing stuff like this for about a year now.
Matthew Smith I mean on game trailers

Matthew Smith Yeah but they are getting info from some of the insider staff to give info that wasn't clearly stated in the games.
I love Kingdom Hearts, but the inclusion of time travel was a mistake, and the method used overly convoluted. I hope it was just something used in DDD to set up the things necessary for KH3 and we don't hear much about it in that game.
+keybladesrus They've been planning time travel since at least BbSFM. It's probably going to remain a key plot point.
+keybladesrus It's not that confusing: * the user removes times grasp on them by leaving their body or have a version of them do so. I hope we get Kingdom Hearts 3 news at E3 this year...
Young Xehanort: I'm from the past.
Player: OMG, this is so convoluted and confusing, it's impossible to understand what's going on!
Young Xehanort: ...Are you serious right now?
Player: So many paradoxes!
Young Xehanort: WHAT paradoxes? This method can't change what's been established--
Player: This plot is so self-contradicting and it sucks because I say so!
Young Xehanort: Okay, screw this, I'm out. (Leaves)
Sora: ..........So... does this mean we win?
DenisK21 coronel: Snake you created a time paradox!!!!!!!!!
theres still master Xehanort though.......
I've been playing Dream Drop Distance and from the beginning I was confused....I don't get confused easily, but I just couldn't follow this game
I love kingdom hearts but I can admit that I don't even know what's going on anymore.
As a 'slightly' obsessed fanboy I already knew all of this, but this is great for people who got confused or prehaps even newcomers to the series.
Awesome new series!! So excited for next month :D
(Not gonna explain here but just do a quick google search)
The reason why KH has all those rules is so it doesn't make it a paradox and thus not broken, like BTTF and HP.
You're assuming those are their physical bodies. Just think of that game's setting; making dreams real and giving them form.
You know this got me thinking: would terra look like Xemnas when he gets older? Cuz if he did he'd be the coolest looking character ever
"It is not possible to travel to the future from the present"
Who stated that? We can see both Ansem and Xemnas in KH3, and that's obviously the future (unless they had a specific reason to travel back in time again)
These videos are pretty well done and they really help lol
having played all the games in the series, I was really good at understanding the confusing aspects of the Kindom Hearts story, but this one really left me confused haha.
The story is crystal clear to me but this time travel shit is kinda confusing so im watching this vid lol
I appreciate this video so much. And as convoluted as time travel made the game, I still love it.
Ground Rules, TL;DR Version:
1.Must be a disembodied heart or a heartless
2.No future travel
3.No messing with destiny (and thus no paradoxes)
4.Only the heart remembers traveling
5.Must exist in time you go to
Basically, a pretty sucky time travel system...
Ki1bo Young Xehanort traveled to the present day, not to the future. You can't travel past the furthest point in time, that's what they mean when saying you can't travel to the future.
Wait, then how are ansem and demand in kh3 if they should’ve returned to their own timeline?
But hey, at least it's a stable time loop instead of the weird timeline-changing type that we usually see. No accidental alternate realities for Kingdom Hearts, no sir!
Steff but there had to be a version of himself then right? Who was that version? It’s not Young Xehanort since we know he’s super old and almost dies of old age at the end of BBS
Why can't these games have simple, straight forward narratives? I'm all for mysteries, but anytime I have to use a graph or spreadsheet, it's gone a little too far.
One of the best and touching games ever
Man I hope they remaster/re-release Dream Drop Distance, don't get me wrong I played it on the 3DS fantastic but the lack of the option to use the thumbsticks to rotate the camera makes it really hard for me to enjoy it as much as I should have, same with Birth By Sleep and Peace Walker they felt complete when they got ported to a console.
New 3ds or the add on for the old 3ds solve that problem
The 3DS had an add-on that includes a second circle pad (called the Circle Pad Pro), but the New 3DS has a second stick (of sorts) of its own that works the same way.
Really though, that's the 3DS' fault more than the game's fault.
*****
and that's one of the reasons i would really appreciate it if it was ported so it would be better optimized, although the 3D functions would be gone, it looked ok
Man I love listening to KH related videos!
Gotta do one on the Foretellers, the script, and master xehanort!
what is the name of the song at 1:28
GameTrailers
Your videos are always so fun to watch.
"First a person must exist only as a heart, so they have to abandon their body and soul before anything else."
This is what I dont get, Ansem SoD (heartless) time traveled, but he is a heartless (no heart) so how was he able to time travel?
But how could young xehanort be in so many times if after time travel you can only move with the laws of time??
I feel like I slept through the whole game of Dream Drop Distance. I didn't even get there wqs time travelling o.O
Why is there no playlist for this series!?
Question: When did Xemnas place the recusant's sigil on Sora and how was he there to do it?
Killua Zoldyck Remember when Sora fell unconscious at the end of DDD's prologue?
Enan Alonso Oh I see it now. Also, I think it was Ansem not Xemnas. I've seen people say Xemnas though.
+Killua Zoldyck Didn't Xehanort's Heartless do it?The cloaked man that told Sora "One who knows nothing can understand nothing" in the cave was Xehanort's Heartless, which allowed him to travel back in Time to that moment and put the sigil on him.
Iraklis Pazios Yeah, I thought so.
Leave it to a villain from a Disney-Related game whose name starts with x to be Xanatos Gambit Chessmaster, but damn, for the entire plot of the series to be one huge xanatos gambit, that's nutso!(and heavily contrived)
what is the song in the beginning called??
One thing confuses me. Who said that you can only travel back in time? Where is that mention in the cutscenes?
so wait how dose the other incarnations such as Siax and Xigbar get a part of Xehanort? and how do the incarnations actually meet at one place? Do they all just travel through the realm of sleep? this is actually the only thing I dont get.
What happened to the rest of the original Organization XIII crew? Maluxia, Luxord, Demyx.. you know. Those peeps.
All killed in either Chain of Memories or KH2
+AsylumDog Lea doesn't have a key blade. he could never get it to materialize. Kairi has a key blade though.
Statments in 2:10 and 6:00 contradict the whole explenation of whether or not Sora and Riku time traveled.
They time traveled back to Destiny Islands (thanks to Yen Sid) right before they were engulfed by the darkness, so they could enter the Realm of Sleep as the Islands entered this realm.
Sorry to annoy but when will the metal gear timeline come? You could start by making a solid snake timeline and later making a big boss one after phantom pain comes out
a long awaited video :D
I love this series but Dream Drop Distance confused the hell out of me. I still dont get what happened.
Re:Coded and 3Ds were fantastic!!!! I've played all the mobile games!
The whole series made sence before dream drop distance came along and now it is so confusing, I could never begin to understand that story
Nice video! But... if isn't possible travel to the future but only to the past, how did gather Young Xehanort all his FUTURE incarnations?
You said that they can't time travel to the future in the beginning of the video, but all of Xehanort's incarnations met by traveling from their times to the future. Can anyone explain what I'm missing?
They met in the realm of sleep which is timeless
but still if they are part of the 13 darknesses, wouldn't they still have to travel to the future eventually?
Glad there is no quiz after the video.
but how to find this portal or create it
Wait, so once young Xehanort returns, his path is etched in his heart? Doesn't this mean there is a subtle predestination paradox involved here?
+Evmeistah Basically.
this really helps considering KH3 is coming out soon
Playing BBS and after watching the DDD video's, So Glad we got 1.5 and 2.5 before 3 :).
i need to go lay down
How the hell are the organization members or even Young Xehanort able to time travel to the future? Hr said himself: "you can ONLY go back in time"
He*
great job guys ...great fucking job.. I'm now looking forward to 3
If all incarnations went back to their own time and forgot everything about time travel then how will they gather again in kingdom hearts 3?
I understand it mostly, but how is Axel back? as well as some of the Organization members such as Marluxia, as we see him in KH3 trailer? They died
When a heartless and nobody of the same person are destroyed, they reformed back to being their normal selves again.
How did Riku make into Dark Realm when Ansem had his body?
UR apirate Yes, he has. The Young Xehanort in DDD came from a time before he'd learned about other worlds.
Prince Sora Lucis Caelum, the Crystal Keybearer So the Xehanort we see at the beach of Destiny Islands has already met Eraqus or at least hs explored other worlds
UR apirate No actually, that scene takes place before that.
Can somebody translate the word "Lore" to me please, I noticed this word is often used with the KH story? I searched on WordReference and I still have no clue what it means. Thanks.
was anybody else like "UUUUGH FUCK THIS! I'LL JUST PLAY THE GAME" by the 4 min mark????
Am I the only one to not get confused by these games? I've played them all except CoM and coded. I mean it's confuseing at first but once you play them pretty much everything gets some sort of explaination.
Wait so after you've gone back in time you're still able to return to the present and regain your body back?
Alex Fraser About the "return to your body" thing, that would be right. Since you can't actually change anything that leads up to whatever future you see, you HAVE to return to your proper place for causality's sake. The laws of time themselves kinda force your hand on that point.
+Alex Fraser No, not at all. Yes, you can go back to the present, but you can't regain your body back. The Robed Figure went back to the present and then succumbed to the darkness and became a Heartless, which is the Ansem, Seeker of Darkness we all know and love.
*****
the only other thing i can't quite understand, it if he truly lost his memory after aqua sacrificed herself-was it an act or not?
Alex Fraser
If the private "Ansem Reports" he wrote are anything to go by, it wasn't an act.
So confusing
Yeah, Kingdom Hearts is extremely confusing, but still really fun!
Matthew Smith i play all the game and still like the story
Mani Davis
I love the story too!
Matthew Smith I hope KH3 will be the best game of year
Mani Davis Same here!
these kh videos were created so well, why did you guys stop making kh vids?
the OG people don't work at GT anymore they work at Easy Allies now
the fans of this franchise need to spend more time with riku, he understood things, while sora is all confused.
Dr. Who: Timey-whimy...whibily whobily!
Oh shit, Sora's a Horcrux!
My Favorite song from kingdom hearts 1:16
+Jazneo Gaming what song is it?
Just look up kingdom heart openings music
Jazneo Gaming That's from Kingdom Hearts 2 known as Sanctuary.
So how did all the other Xehanorts get there?
And that is why Multiverse is the only way to handle time Travel correctly. Well, maybe not the only one, but the most viewer friendly. It contradicts itself just way too muc, ending in paradox after paradox.
Kingdom Hearts story is completely fucked. I enjoy a good mystery and intrigue as much as the next guy but it's just gotten to the point where its stupid.
I dare you to say it's gotten stupid again...Bitch!
I'm guessing you just don't get it and since you don't get it deem it stupid.
I haven't played any past 2, but I can tell a convoluted story when I see one. I still like the games.
rob19ny
It's stupid.
First game was great with it's simplicity and concept; became too otaku second game and forward. Has good music though,
Jesse Pinkman naa bro its all good. the story is great.
So what happens to Terra's body?
time travel is contradicting, especially on not changing major events, considering that xeanorts heartless was defeated in kh1. the only way this could have worked is if after becoming a heartless he scoured for data on what he needed, the lost masters, the organization, sora's journey. he then repeatidly went back and saw the little diffrences that could be made, finaly he went to his younger self and transfered all the knowledge to him. he later gose back and send sora on his way and later poseing riku and is defeated. this is where the contradiction of changing major events comes in and actually says no time travel couldn't have happened. However this also proves destiny can changed since riku wasn't chosen by the key blade, roxas merged with sora and so forth.
Be happy kh3 has not been affected by time travel the end of dream drop distance is where it ended.
Well....
Why wasn't Terra-Xehanort or apprentice xehanort, restored following the destruction of his heartless and nobody, or Braig, or Isa like Lea and the the others?
He was. He's technically not the most present self though.
+Underestimated Usually If his most present self is Master Xenahort, wouldn't Terra get his body back too?
Why you should never put time travel into a game
