If this isn't the new drummer, I don't know who could be a better fit. I've watched a few hundred auditions, and while there are many great ones, this one just hits different.
This fellow is extremely versatile and can play a variety of styles. He's an average strength hitter, so he knows how to PLAY WITH THE BAND!!! His technique is incredible. Good luck picking only one Les!!!😳👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This came out amazing Rory. Having seen you develop soo much over the last 15 years of seeing you play. From the Boston streets to the OG Lespectical. You have put in the work and it shows along with your passion for music and those that support you in doing so. You deserve this and even if you didn’t get chosen by some cruel fate then I can definitely see some Primus opening slots for Lespecial. If the planets do continue aligning though and you rightfully are chosen just don’t forget about some lespecial opener sets in the contract haha. ❤ ya bro keep killing it
A fantastic drummer indeed! But I watched about 80% of this hoping to hear/feel powerful playing. Technical, creative…. absolutely. But a very light player and I just think the Primus sound requires power, not just technique. It’s a no for me unfortunately..
Even though I've seen alot of great drummers in these auditions, Rory is by far the most well rounded, outstanding player I've seen. Definitely deserving of the the chance to play with this great band! I wish you the best of luck, Rory!
I can’t get over how awesome this would be! Rory is definitely familiar with and can pull off the material, but he’s also a well-rounded musician with his own musicality. Playing covers in your room is one thing but actually performing live with other musicians is another beast altogether. To that end he’s already an experienced touring musician with his own great band (and with others!) so he definitely has the “ability to listen, react, and contribute to the musical conversation” Plus he’s got the fat beats

Ya this guy speaks my language... holy christ there's a sense of humor and smartassery that he places with and it's incredible. The one thing i will say about a primus audition, is that he doesn't have the swingin di** swing that herb and other drummer i can't think of. And i know that sounds like a diss but i promise it isn't. Because this dude is a f***ing great drummer and he can just have all my respect.
