      thats what instruments do. they talk. but strangely enough those who play said instrument have to learn to understand what they are saying as they play. a muscian must know the ins and outs of their instrument at all times. the funniest thing is they are the ones that make the instruments talk in the first place.

      not just adults play piano/organ.
      i have a keyboard, nothing professional, but i’ve been playing for a few years and I taught myself the main theme to interstellar.
      i don’t know exactly every note of this exact piece, but it’s similar to the one i play, and if you play piano you know you can take all your knowledge on the chords and put them in different rhythms, patterns, and orders, it’s really not that hard.

    • @Kerdtress
      @Kerdtress 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Its not special to play a Song, even a difficult song by memory. You can even learn to play this Song on that exact instrument perfectly without even beeing able to play anything else on a keyboard.
      The difficult part is to playing the Instrument so perfectly that you just can improvise every song you imagine or heared in the Radio 2 minutes ago.

    • @RamiSlicer
      @RamiSlicer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @P E R S P E C T I V E I can confirm that it is indeed possible to play somewhat complex songs from memory. It just needs more and more practice the longer/more complex the song is. And when you're done there's no more pages to fall on the ground ;)

    • @cubalibre-5238
      @cubalibre-5238 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @P E R S P E C T I V E If you learn a piece you don't really play by "brain" memory. Its more like when you practiced it a lot, your fingers will develop muscle memory. Like typing for example. You don't type thinking about where every letter is, right? Your fingers just know where to press because you practiced it a lot. And this song isn`t all that complex so it probably takes like a few weeks to get good at it if you know what you`re doing. However, improvising and adding to a song spontaneously definitely takes more knowledge of the chords and being able to play a song by just hearing it will take many years to master.

    Imagine one day you walk into a church and walk up to the play table of the organ, turn on the blowers and pull a few stops.
    You have seen the movie interstellar and learned to play the music, so you feel like playing this music.
    So you start to play... You get into the music, pull a few more stops so the music gets louder and louder!
    You get deeper into the music and your soul takes over! You pull few more stops and play even more passionate!
    Then slowly the end approaches, all the stops are out but the final notes are there to play. So the moment comes that you play the last note, you keep it for a few seconds and then let go. The music stops, but your soul is still up there between the stars, truly interstellar! Only then you know you made a great performance.
    I heard several performances of this music and I must say that this is the first performance I hear that is really good in getting you there. Well done Eric!

    Interstellar's soundtrack is one of the best. The use of the pipe organ really gives a lot of feeling and depth to the music. Even Hans Zimmer said that they chose the pipe organ because it is as close to human as a musical instrument gets.

    • @ShayKeyNote
      @ShayKeyNote 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Grant Rogers Although I have not thought of it like that, it could very well be possible. It's quite interesting the constant mention of 'the aliens' who were able to set up the tesseract in order for Cooper to interact with his past. 'Aliens' who seem omnipresent and seem a lot more capable than human beings. Quite interesting how the film accommodates the idea of some higher power though.

      Well, bear in mind that the organ used in the soundtrack was located in a church in London, and that Chris Nolan specifically wanted the film to have a feeling of "religiousity" as he explains here: th-cam.com/video/HtifWqsON1g/w-d-xo.htmlm45s
