Very honest assessment from binks. Cov were just awful tonight but it happens to the best of sides. Forget about this, beat Maidstone on Mon and get some confidence back through the side. Thoughts are with saka right now. PUSB!
I think Brad will be back Monday .felt worst than the Stoke defeat .but defensive midfield is and was our problem last Joel and josh were awful binks is not kitchin. We had nobody leading the line.we need the big fellas up front scoring more goals .All our achievements lately. Not much preparation against Maidstone. A win for morale but the league has to be paramount surely .
We have been below par for a few games and rode our luck but tonight our luck ran out. I think that performance showed we are not quite ready for the playoffs.
It's almost impossible to achieve with an inconsistent team. In 1987 when City won the FA Cup, the there was a consistent eleven; no injuries, same 11 every week, and it showed. If you look at City's results, it's the continuity that makes the difference. They have a small squad and probably 12/13 first team players at best. When you then have to resort to players not up to speed, you're in trouble. Why are the top Premiership teams winning consistently? They have a squad of 16 -20 first team able players. It will take a significantly determined mental approach to win on Monday, which is difficult after such a dreadful performance. Here's hoping that these next two days sees a complete change in attitude.
There’s NEVER a reason to play Dasilva in preference to Bidwell, if Bidwell is available. Ditto Binks over Kitching. Haji Wright is a passenger. Yes, he scores goals here and there, but he contributes little and passes up four or five chances for each one he takes. Palmer is the cherry on top of the cake. When there’s no cake, he’s just a cherry. Eccles is a decent lieutenant but can’t boss midfield. Latibeaudiere likewise. Needed to start with Torp or Kelly in there to organise things, even if they needed to come off after 50 minutes. As it was, we looked disjointed, inexperienced, lightweight and toothless. Some valuable lessons - chief among them: Bidwell not Dasilva, Kitching not Binks, Kelly in the middle.
Mark has done an amazing job with Doug to steady the club, achieve regular crowds of 24 thousand and make sure and steady progress. Just feel at times the attitude has been "We never win at Norwich" or "We never beat Preston", and the sad fact is you need to win at those places to achieve promotion. We need a good result against Maidstone and a draw against West Brom to make a point I think.
Those 'we never win at x' things are psychological and they can become very real. I'm a pne fan and I know its just voodoo bs, but things like that do get in players heads, it's inevitable really. So I guess we have to try to keep taking advantage of that until its no longer a thing. That said I also believe that Coventry have never won a league game at Deepdale. Now that has the potential of lasting forever lol
Worst performance for years and an honest assessment from Robins. Da Dilva can not defend to save his life, stop playing him! Also put Collins back in. I think Tats injury is going to be bad and he's been our best player this season, playoffs feel out of reach this year.
FROM DAVID FOREST SUPPORTER OF NEARLY 50 YEARS NOW I REALLY LIKE MARK ROBBINS LIKED HIM AS A PLAYER LIKE HIM AS A MANAGER I SO WANT COVENTRY IN THE PREM WITH HIM AS THE BOSS THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH THE SHITE AND SOME SO WISH HIM AND THE TEAM GOOD LUCK I CERTAINLY DON'T WANT MOLESTER CITY BACK CANNOT STAND THEM 💙🏐🥅⚽😜
It’s no coincidence that when Kitching established himself in the side earlier in the season, and Bidwell was reinstated, we went on a good run. Why then drop them, it makes no sense. Robins is a responsible manager who is aware of the challenges of a long season, but I think he is a bit obsessed with resting players, and worries about this more than a lot of other managers. It’s proving counterproductive as we are losing form. When we played Sheffield Wednesday in the cup he rested lots of players, but we only managed a draw which ironically meant more game time! I think we just need to stop faffing about and go with our best side. We are not winning by resting players anyway
We have been starting slowly for the last few games , what are they doing in training ? This has been coming , mark do your job and pick the strongest team , I will give you a help , bidwell must start

Preston's manager did his research and knew all of Coventry's weaknesses. And there are quite a few off them. Robins is almost out of options with a threadbare squad. He seems reluctant to give Tavares any significant minutes.
Monday win.but I feel preparing for two games was a problem. Some players were so far off Preston done a good job beat Maidstone all back on track. As much as I love our rich history with the fa Cup the league is massive for us .Collins and kitchin need to play we were missing Victor and Ben sheaf so much.hope sakas OK
Ohare contract thing has done us. He is our catalyst/creator/team bond. Felt that bubble burst last night. Front 2 charlatans need taking out the back! Useless, play Fabio and play to his attributes. Robins knows that has done our play off chances.
Big mistake letting mcfazdean go also I've said it before and I'll say it again our first team looks pretty decent but regardless of how individuals look on the ball, if you keep playing certain players eg binks and dasilva in key games and the results remain the same you have to realise that there are levels and some of the lads are just not there.
MR keeps changing the side (some through no choice, some through choice). No consistency in the starting lineup. One eye on the FA Cup game on Monday. Cov were 2 losses in 17 before this loss. We have dipped in the previous 2 games TBF, but rode our luck and got results. Cov's worst performance of the season by far. But well done PNE, well organised and were at it from kick-off. Great result for them I'm sure there will be more twists for both clubs until the end of the season (no one expected Leicester to lose 2 matches on the bounce. Their massive points lead is reducing fast). We lost badly to Stoke at home last season and then went on a big unbeaten run and made the play-offs in the last few matches. Disappointed we lost, but it maybe the wake up call they need, after getting complacent in the last few matches, thinking we could just pull back the result late on. It caught up with us in this match.
What's all this "we weren't at it" Your never at it when you play Preston. PNE were top of the league for a long time start of season, and have knocked off alot of "big clubs". Credit where credit is due hey, maybe Preston were at it.. not Coventry just weren't at it.
Don’t want to see Jay Da Silva as a left back again. What was Ben Wilson doing I don’t think he knew he was in and out for most crosses didn’t know whether to stay or go. Get back to our best defence stop changing it every game like the start of the season.
They will be a problem just by being super up for it and by being a big hazard to your players regarding injuries etc at a crucial stage of the season. Be realistic, you're not going to win the cup. The best thing that happened to us (pne) was going out of the cup cause then the shitty little run we were on ended and we then went 100% on the league. The cup these days is a distraction. The fact that Maidstone are this deep in shows how seriously other clubs take it. Losing to Maidstone could be a blessing in disguise you know.
Never rated Da Silva at all, he looks like a good laugh on the training ground but that doesn't win games. His lack of ability to go forward is infuriating, he is terrified of facing off with the opposition and constantly passes it backwards.
'The dirty side of the game' come on! You were losing after one minute and offered nothing. Not once were PNE under any pressure. How this side can only be one position below us is beyond me, cause north end are loads better than Coventry. They were just lucky we sat off in the 2nd half or we could easily have grabbed another couple if we had needed to.
To be fair to our lot that is our worst performance this season, we have been much better and you lot have been much worse. Just not today unfortunately for us.
Binks at least showing he cares. Fair play. Our midfield is threadbare and it showed tonight. Trust in the plan, we are a work in progress and Robins knows what we need. Patience all #PUSB
Don’t these players want to get promoted, it’s in there hands , where was the passion and the drive . ? They have let us all down badly, now let’s see a reaction

Really hope this is a hard reset that gets us going again, was completely hopeless 😩

Wishing Tats a speedy recovery 🙏 🩵PUSB🩵In Robins We Trust🩵
What are his thoughts on Brad Collins? Done nothing to get dropped and Wilson hasn't done anything to deserve starting
Yeah 'super Ben' has lost his mojo at the moment, compared to last season he is a different player.
Well that sums it up totally .
Collins hasn't been great either to be honest
@@christopherraffell5182josh eccles is shocking every game hope he fucks off in the summer absolute piss poor
We have been below par for a few games and rode our luck but tonight our luck ran out. I think that performance showed we are not quite ready for the playoffs.
We,, ve been poor for a while, but beat millwall, stoke who are poor, played a good side tonight and come unstuck.

Totally agree good assessment. We were very poor and it's a long road ahead so pusb we can still do this 💙
Maybe we should be looking at starting Kelly for some experience in the team. Poor Tats, he landed so badly ..hope he’s ok 🩵

As bad as I've seen us since we've come up. Just no fight whatsoever. Rolled over right from kick off.
Why did we let McFadzean go at this time of the season and we had a small squad and he was one of our best players!!!!!!!PUSB!!
Good point! Blackburn are very grateful.
I was at the game last night and when I saw tats on the floor I new he did something btw he’s my fav so let’s pray he recovers quickly🩵🤍🩵🤍🩵🤍

Get Eccles off corners
Like your honesty, i was there, and yes, it was very poor.

Don't you DARE let this get to you! :) Good that this happened now with ten games still left to play - PUSB! Come on! Come ON! COME ON!!
Let's forget about it and move on. Hard to take as it was such a big game. Making it hard now for ourselves. PUSB

Is rich history your one win, or PNEs multiple league titles and cups? Oh, and winning the championship of every division.
Ohare contract thing has done us. He is our catalyst/creator/team bond. Felt that bubble burst last night. Front 2 charlatans need taking out the back! Useless, play Fabio and play to his attributes. Robins knows that has done our play off chances.
If only we had a better start to the season . But in the 30years of going to cov games that was the worst I’ve seen them .
swear we always struggle against 3 back

They weren't 'at it' cause they were outplayed in every position. It's hard to be 'at it' when the other team is at it all over you.

This looks so negative! Turn it around boys!!!
Maidstone isn’t “difficult” 😂

Wer 8th on the table. Can we still make the play offs with the amount of games left ??????
Same old cliche.....what are you going to do about it😮
Dasilva is not fit to wear the shirt Collins kitch bidwell all needed to play joke rbh
Never rated Da Silva at all, he looks like a good laugh on the training ground but that doesn't win games. His lack of ability to go forward is infuriating, he is terrified of facing off with the opposition and constantly passes it backwards.
Da Silva makes an average winger and a horrendous left back. He makes awful decisions and can't defend.
P N E ... 21 and on
Looks like yet another disappointing season.

That comment annoyed me (as a Preston supporter) "The dirty side of the game" What a pathetic remark!!
