This is a mesmerizing arrangement of a grand ballroom composition and the band has with genius demonstrated clarity and definition, especially as it is not easy to separate , the marriage of the clarinets individually and together is marvelous. Kudos!!
Craig Flory re-imagines the George Bacquet flutter tongue clarinet solo, Jon Doyle's soprano sax solo equally brilliant. So true to the spirit of JR Morton.
Awesome...you actually *improve* on JR's own version. The record guys wanted a big band so he voiced it brass vs reeds, when it ought to be pure frontline. You've brought it back and cleansed it of vaudeville overtones. It's a *composition* again.
Unsolicited two bits: this is really special. Tuba Skinny is really special. This video was filmed from behind, rather than from the front. Is that, for some reason, giving this song a special sound, or was it this particular performance, or maybe my ears are different today? Maybe from behind the accoustics, with the deeper tones bending more than the higher tones? Just wondering. Regardless: there is special unique beauty we periodically witness in life....special events....this is one of them, to whomever was there in person.
.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥ All the components are excellent musicians but the young Jew Shaye Cohn, with much respect and admiration, surpasses everyone to the maximum degree of "excellence" is the best instrumentalist of the band. ♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.
Jelly Roll would be proud to hear his music being played by this wonderful band
Great tune...wicked clarinet solo by Craig Flory...Love it! 😊👍
Is it just me, but I love watching the members of the audience in these videos.

It’s just you.
No, it isn't! I like to see the audience too, especially if there's a lot of them.
Couldn’t really see any tapping feet or fuck all else. About as bad as the dog
And
I love the dog.... he's in a bunch of videos!
love the dogs.
Some fancy playing there.

Thanks for filming. How can anyone - even a dog - sleep through a nice bumpy dose of Jelly Roll Morton?
whose DAWG IS IT?
Barnnabus’s dog 🐶is Tupelo and Robin’s dog 🐶is Walnut That’s Tupelo helping the band today 😉
He has to stay up all night guarding the instruments...
Not everyone is like you.
... did you notice how tupelo walked up front of the band ... used his leg like a baton and kept the group in time .... true concert master ... 🙃
I think Woody would love this.

The only thing wrong that I see is not enough show their appreciation by hitting the bucket...
That's YOUR opinion. So you know what other people should do with their money?

Doggie nearly got his tail stepped on! Very good musicians but would have been a better video if taken from the other side.
Wspaniała grupa.
When I pass away. I want to come back. Reincarnated as that dog. 😊

Also: these great songs from so long ago, the depth of the historical context.
The red dog is always in the scene,.
Prachtig volk toch die Amerikanen
Der Hund hat ja immer noch Flöhe.

That soprano sax should stay with the band. They're all tops.

The young _who???_ 😒surely that's of no relevance here. more significant is her lineage in a jazz family (father Joe, grandpa Al).
