This is the second young lady who flies an ultralight I have seen on youtube. The other girl flies an aerolight 103 and was at eaa this year. Totally cool that these ladies are following their passion.
@@scotthooker-tz5jv YES... we plan to do a follow up with the family (and Skylar Rose) over at their private grass strip very soon. BOTH of those ladies are now CFI Rated!
Love it - great to see someone is actually doing UL training, and looking forward to a long love affair with flying! We need more - many more - UL instructors!
Thanks Bryan for another very enjoyable episode of the Experimental Aircraft Channel. Really enjoyed the entire episode, especially the interview with Aerial, what a gift to aviation! The quality of your production is excellent.
I flew an X-Air with a 582 Blue head. I always landed on power. I flew it to the ground. Massive drag. This sounds very similiar. Would love a flight in one. 2 Stokes are great, once looked after. I did love your input on this. Very reliable enignes. But as with any engine, look for a landing spot. Great video and keep learning!
Thanks for chiming in here and sharing a bit of your experiences. Aerial was awesome to speak with and learn about her Aircraft and her history. Thanks for watching!
Wanted to say hello but you were realy busy. Hope you enjoyed our friendly group of folks and wish you would make it every year. The smith family are wonderful people, and i love your Channel.
I have owned three Qucksilvers. A Double Quick Weight Shift, An MX, and an MXL. Worked for a dealership in central Ohio during the mid 80's. I would love to have another MXL but don't have a place to keep it. We had a 2 place and used it for training. Before that, we only had single-seat ultralights and crow hops about 4 feet off the ground was the way it was done. Had a chance to go flying in 2 place a while back and found out I still had it after 40 years. Love Quicksilvers.....
That aircraft looks so cool and would be a blast to fly. Awesome to see a younger pilot with such enthusiasm for it too. Bryan, did you get a ride in it?
i did a week before. It was 10/19 when I caught my Dad's last birthday. Ariel's Dad took me up. That part about stuff flying out at 9:48 was probably a reference to me. My reading glasses flew out. I'm not buying the 500' per minute climb rate. Felt more like a launch than a take off. Ariel has a sister who is going to be a CFI as well. Skylar Rose was her name. I enjoyed the rans s7s far more. I know I'm just wrapped in fabric but the challenger was terrifying. The S7 was special. It could do it all. I'm going to try to take lessons from one of the Smith girls or their Dad. Had a great time that day. I'll be back next year hopefully with a sport pilot license.
11:01 "You're not going to know everything. You're constantly learning." Best advice I've heard to a young pilot in a long time. I started flying back in the early 1980s and I learned something every time I went up - it's called gaining experience. Yeah, I may not have learned something new about my aircraft or about how weather behaves, but with each flight you gain experience. Even if it's a "routine" flight, you are reinforcing something you learned before which is how you should think about it especially if you find yourself in a situation you have not been in a long time. There's a reason we track our hours. There is a reason a pilot's hours are so important when evaluating their ability to perform a job. There's a reason people look at a pilot's hours if there is an accident or incident in the air. Experience is so important as a pilot, and with each flight you should try to see if you can take something from it and put that experience to another flight later on.
I remember visiting the grass airstrip in Vandalia, MO on weekends. It was always busy on the weekends. Lots of older airplanes, they would be called classic or antiques. Very few of them had a radio.
Love to attend this event and bring my Northwing ATF trike. I am from Winona, MS. I bought my trike on 2016 but yet to Maiden it.. need some training first. Maybe, I can get Aerial to help me complete my PPL I just require night xc, written and oral exams and checkride at 63 hrs. C152II... Aerial can instruct me in the ultralight as well to help build my confidence in my trike. Video was a pleasure to watch ... so glad there's folks in MS still interested in this type of flight. I fly hang gliders at Lookout Mountain Flight Park in Trenton, GA
A rans that dad bought didnt check the trailen edge! One alerion up other down! Ok problem found and fixed!Did my home work under a airplane. So cute!please breath before flight!
Just watched the episode in which A talked about the Quicksilver 2-seater. First of all, had no idea that there are places like yours dealing with ultralight aircrafts in Mississippi. I reside in Oxford and have been interested in ultralight for sometime but couldn’t find any local activities. Would like to go down and check out the activities you have after the first part of the new year. Al Nazario
When i see this kind of people, and proyects, and how they leave and enyoy this... I said... How to leave another new more live. I'm Daniel, 59 , and i send you my greetings from Argentina. Cheers
He said the frequency is not on Foreflight or sectionals but did that also mean the airstrip with identifier is also not depicted? What is the field identifier or what are the coordinates?
I had a single MX and a double seat MX. The things don't don't tell you is they're very impractical for anything, but joy rides. Also they're really expensive for what they give you. You could buy a used regular aircraft for the same money
Will pilots stop looking @ tyres for bald spots. The main thing we should be inspecting on those black round things is the side walls on said black round jobs. Ask the FAA A&P BOOK’s ☮️
CHECKING THE TIRES LIKE MOST PILOTS !!!!!! SHE WAS INCORRECT. The correct check, is to check the sidewalls. If anyone wants to check on this then ask the FAA (in the USof A ) YOU WILL FIND ME 100% . BYE ☮️
Her joy in showing off the plane was only exceeded by her love of flying. I wish her a lifetime of that wonderment!
Agreed! And thank you for wishing her all the best in her future career in Aviation! She was a joy to interview!

Aerial is the perfect name for a young lady who loves to fly
Agreed! Her family had AVIATION on the mind when they named their kids. She... has a sister as well! Thanks for watching!
Came here to say this! lol

Awesome! I hope she comes to the airlines 🤙🏻
Look like a super fun event
Her knowledge and comfort in describing a walk+around shows why her company likes to have her show the.

A similar walk around to standard GA aircraft, except you can actually see all the control cables because they are external (except ailerons).

What’s the ceiling limits for the ultralights.
Did she get a LODA to instruct in that aircraft since it’s an experimental?
Never fly higher than you're willing to fall😊
500th Like....wooohoooo
Oh she did a preflight? sorry was not able to look at the plane.
Господи, храни Америку! И твой маленький самолёт!
