    Darkening Skies | Definitive Edition
The lead (and likely only) single from Act I Definitive Edition, is available for purchase on Bandcamp and streaming on TH-cam, with all platforms launching April 26th.
Act I is seven years old today. There's a lot of thoughts in my head, but mostly I'm just amazed at how completely different I am from that lonely high schooler that spent his spring break on discord and recording a shitty techno album.
A lot has changed since then; I'm now a married adult grinding away at a job I'm hoping can be a career. Ironically, the only things I can distinctly remember about that time frame were being excited for the new Groundbreaking release and being utterly entranced by Accel World, which would have been finishing the Sixth Chrome Disaster arc at that time. I wouldn't trade my current life for the world, but it's hard to say I don't miss a time when my biggest concerns were an indie album and a cyberpunk shounen novel series, haha.
Darkening Skies was the first song actually fully finished for this project. I hadn't planned on doing a single, but I finished the mix on Friday and realized I could still make the anniversary if I was alright with only doing it on TH-cam and Bandcamp, so burned through the mastering process and took some concepts for the album cover to make some cover art. On a side note, I think the visualizer for this one is kind of cool, so if you've got a couple minutes to check it out on TH-cam I'd appreciate it!
I intentionally rewound a bit in terms of production with this project. Soulfire and Slipstream are my best-sounding releases by far, owing largely to the fact I've spent the last four years playing with remixes and covers in genres I had never touched. However, I intend to maneuver these releases so they appear as 2017 and 2018 releases when I hand them to my distro service, so I thought maybe pouring all my energy into making them sound as good as possible would make a deep-dive through my music feel weird. Ideally, they'll sit somewhere between Act III and Slipstream in production, so it hopefully won't feel too weird.
I'm out of space. Thanks for reading, I'll see you soon!
