I am on day 54 of my first playthrough (xobx) and am learning a lot. A tip I would like to give fellow beginners: Kills with spike traps don't give XP. I spent my first three horde nights hiding in fear, and really cheated myself out of some XP gains. I recommend setting up a simple 3x3 square fence (farm fence, wood fence, white picket fence, doesn't matter), surrounded by a 7x7 fence (both sets only 1 block high on flat ground), with no other buildings around for the horde to get stuck on. The zombies will get stuck on the outer fence, giving you freedom to club or bow them. If bodies pile up they will climb the first fence, so move around to spread them out, clear the bodies, or have a secondary square you can fall back to. Don't hide, you need that XP. If you are worried, just add more fencing, it's cheap and easy.
Have you got a mini bike yet mate ? I am on day 50 ish ,also did the same and hid from the hoard , haven't really struggled for exp tho , just really need that bike
@@mattydaviehhs4034 I’m on day 24 trying to build the mini bike. You need to use the wrench on nice cars to get an engine. Build the chassis in the forge, place it down somewhere, and the seats in the workbench. P.S You have to find the mini bike book first to learn it all.
@@CentralxComedy thanks mate , I have everything but the handlebars and seat , need to find that book, in spartan episode 27 he finds it in the bank , now I gotta find that book
I prefer barbed wire traps. Much cheaper than spikes, and trap, /slow down/cut the legs off zombies without killing them quickly, so you can get the XP
When ever I start a new game I head towards the lake right past trader, there is a forge already there. Then head to cave and start my base there with a fall pit using concrete pillar 50. You can shot and club through them, but zombies can't fit
One tip I have is if you see a piece of scrap metal on the floor of a house, cut out the surrounding block and check underneath the metal. Lots of the time there are backpacks, purses and sports bags hiding!
@@allenharper2928 you can immediately make the iron club with some wood and scrap iron. Much better then any other Club and can be made day 1 in the first 5 minutes
wrench the yellow light/smelt the yellow taps off sinks to get the brass. you gain exp in various skills staying in the menu, so in workbench, had you stayed in the workbench as lights were crafting your science skill goes up. (works approx 60 lights to get lvl 15, to unlock chem station)
A huge tip is to look up the navgazine map on the 7 days to die wiki page....look for the a15 map and it gives you such a huge advantage when you first start out. You can pinpoint certain poi's find your way round different biomes etc.
Hint for the workbench. Neither the wrench or the hammer need to be functional to build the workbench. Also, for cheap and easy Dukes, chop down a bunch of trees and create log spikes. Also, use scrap polymers to create coolers. Booth stack nicely, cost only easily found materials, are profitable, and can be created without the workbench if memory serves me correctly.
Always face the ladder when climbing. Sometimes its hard to start climbing due to glitch but thats the only glitch. If you fall off a ladder its because you lost grip by looking away or jumping while on ladder.
I was surprised when I went to Red Mesa and wrenched a spotlight that it gave me a spotlight. Then I placed it at base and it just has an on/off switch and it worked. I've played quite a bit too!

When you first spawn in do the quest line it gives you after you finish it it gives you the location of the nearest trader hope this helps also if you can't see it on the map it might be small on your compass but face the direction the symbol is at and then open your map and then scroll accordingly
Please can you do some tips on easy base builds and tricks and traps to help us kill zombies and dogs I saw some video a guy had a white picket fence fling some kinda trick where he ops back and forth and kills zombies i do the hatch door trick
Don't know if this is well known or not, but if you chop away all the blocks holding a safe in place it will fall and break, turning into a backpack that you can simply walk up to and loot. It's better than chopping away at the safe itself, especially in early game.

Chemistry station and cement mixer can both be crafted. You just have to unlock the knowledge then have the workbench and required materials. I play modded. I drop block durability to 25%.
