a dying breed.... impeccable musicians, true non-processed vocals & harmonies, humorous band and an over all class act...too bad the industry & its consumers don't demand these qualities in ALL musical genres...
Well said! Had the privilege to see them in concert and it was wonderful to see true musician who did rely on a "stage show" to captivate and entertain.
If memory serves, Nickel Creek did an episode of Austin City Limits back when they first came onto the national spotlight following the release of their self-titled album. I missed that episode when it was aired in my local PBS station never seemed to want to re-air it. From those that had watched, I heard great things. I would love to find that performance.
She is older now. That maybe something to do with. She might have lost some of that, no offense to Sara, baby voice. She may have a touch of what Alison Krauss had, (i hope i spell it right) Dysphonia?
She may need a vocal coach. She is basically belting here, and there is a right way to do it without sitting on her chords. The sound has to float on the breath instead of the other way round. I love the whole group’s sound and hope she can find a good coach, if she thinks she needs to.
That "dude" is Mark schatz , one of three or four classically trained bass players in bluegrass , does not need me to defend him , but you obviously don't know much about bass playing or music in general
One of the best groups in the World
Modern classic.
Nickel Creel live brings me joy and peace. No one else has that effect to such an extreme.
Well, that was one of the best acoustic guitar solos I ever heard :-)

Chris' voice constantly blows me away - its so crisp and clear and beautiful
Her voice is much stronger than it used to be. I think it is a wonderful improvement. She really shines now in every show she does.
Such a truly powerfull and unique voice. I love them all so much, hands down my favourite musicians.
Reasons Why - Nickel Creek, with Mark Schatz on the upright Bass! This is awesome!
The first computer I ever purchased was a windows XP desktop, and this song was pre-downloaded. I'm so thankful.
