- ITS TRAVEL DAY! Welcome to our latest adventure to Walt Disney World! Join us for our new vlog series as we try to fit in everything we would do in a 2 week holiday into just one week. We’re going to try and ride all the rides, enjoy all the food & have the best time in the most magical place on earth.
In our first travel day of 2024 we are flying out from Heathrow Airport, a new one for us travelling to Florida and we are arriving into Tampa International Airport (LHR to TPA). We’ve managed to bag ourselves some reward flights with Virgin Atlantic which means we will need to take the long trip up the I4 on our way to Disney World. We’re going to show you all what our experience is like in the airports, what its like hiring a car from Tampa and what the drive looks like if you’re looking to make the trip up to Orlando yourself from Tampa in the Future.
Once we arrive into Disney World we show you All Star Sports, the hotel we have booked for this trip and get ready for our adventure packed week in the most magical place on earth.

Tampa Airport looks great guys. So nice to see another family with such excitement for Travel Day, just sorry for the rain for you guys. We feel guilty for pinching all the sun the week before 😂.

I know you go to theme parks but you should consider having a chill holiday in the sun.I recommend going to ayai napa for a week at Atlantica Aeneas blue hotel.There is a huge pool and a buffet for food there is also kids and adults entertainment in the evenings.(ayai napa is in Cyprus in the Mediterranean)
I’ll be honest, we’ve tried chill beach style holidays in the past and they’re just not for us! We much prefer to be out exploring or having fun at attractions! 😊

Good question! Usually we always meet Mickey no matter what but with us only having one week and his queue being so big the whole time we actually didn’t this time! We only met Figment (best meet ever!) and Pluto this trip!
It's definitely a money grab on the seat selection. They never used to charge before covid. We flew with tui just before christmas and were allocated seats apart at the back of the plane as it was a last-minute booking. The lovely flight attendant moved us to a row to ourselves at the front, which meant our little one had a seat for the flight rather than sitting on our lap the whole flight.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they allowed you to pick your own seats say 48 hours before then auto allocate whatever is left at 24 hours but it’s frustrating they say it’s free at this time but by then you can’t do anything about it! Think we will just have to try incorporate it into our budget going forward!

Hiya 🤗 I’m glad you made it there safely - it is a bit rubbish when the flight is a bit longer but you made it to Disney 😊 Also, I 100% think they do that sit allocation in a way to push people to pay for the allocation. Makes no sense to split you guys up 🙄 I cannot wait to see all your faves and how much fun you had out there. I need to remember to bring choccys for the cabin crew, it’s a lovely idea 🩷 xxx

Great Travel Day Vlog! There has been a lot of longer flight times lately, my Jan trip was longer than usual too! That seat selection situation is so odd, I would have assumed the same that you could just pick from all seats at check in time - so bad to automatically allocate everyone and split you guys up! Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Thanks Karen 😄 the seat situation feels like it could be done a little better. Just wish they allocated everyone a few hours after it becomes free but can understand that’s not good for their bank balance 😄 it’s just a little disappointing when you already pay a premium to fly with them

What's well upsetting is that I got an email from Virgin Atlantic Credit Cards last week letting me know that the free bongo wifi benefit was being removed from the 23rd March! - Absolutely gutted
I wonder if that means they are no longer going to have boingo on the planes or if they’re just not offering it as a card benefit? Could it still be done with another Mastercard I wonder…

Looking forward to watching how you got on with only doing a week - I've booked us a cheeky week before christmas and weve never done a week before. However its after our august trip so hoping to fit in all the christmas things and then some faves! Great travel day vlog!
We were pleasantly surprised with how good the week was. We thought we'd feel like there was so much we'd missed out on. Christmas time is magical over there, one day we'll get back around that time of year

We were there in Nov 2019 for Esmé's 3rd birthday and it was just changing over to Christmas so I'm looking forward to doing it again but with Esmé being older🎄 2 of my favourite things Disney and Christmas so it's exciting and will make a change to be there when it's cooler especially compared to August 🤣
Great video, were going to Florida in September this year but with tui because it was a lot cheaper for the same hotel so been able to do a airport lounge and fast track service, all of this was cheaper than economy delight so for us it was a no brainer, just doing understand how virgin can ask for £900.00 pounds to fly in premium economy without lounge access, I'm hoping that the dreamliner aircraft will be a good choice, hope everyone had a great time
Thank you! We usually fly with whoever is cheapest direct! It has always been Virgin up to now because of being able to use air miles to book reward seats. We are going with Tui this Summer though, they were significantly cheaper than Virgin!

We’ve done Tampa a few times with BA and always found it easy and quick.

If only it was still like now. Really disappointed with how it works now. We could understand if there wasn’t already a premium for flying with them
That’s an outrageous amount to charge for seats, esp when you’ve got a youngster with you. It just comes across as a money grab. As if it actually costs the airline more money to have those seats. That aircraft interior certainly needed a touch of modernisation. My last virgin flight we lucked out with the tropical flavour lolly which was alright.

From what I can see when I search, there may be two small areas in terminal 2 near gate 213, 1 for for under 3s and 1 for 3-8year olds. We haven’t seen that so will have to check next time we go through the airport! Or let us know if you get there first 😊

It is annoying how the airlines nickle and dime you on seat prices. We love those BBQ nibbles with a drink. Max is now going to order a children's meal now she has seen the size of the Jammie Dodger
It’s annoying but will factor that cost in going forward, don’t want to be split up for ten hours! Honestly the kids meals have been so much better than the adults the last few flights!
Great video guys I’ve been watching since the start. Have always liked the good production values and video quality with full frame cameras etc. most U.K. Disney TH-camrs have little care on picture quality.
The old Virgin planes and screens are pretty poor for supposed premium airline and the food was appalling last time we were on.

Gaz, I live close to TIA , and we fly out from there most of the time. Very nice airport and less crowded than orlando. I see you met phoebe the Flamingo. I remember a couple of years ago when they put her in.
It was a great first experience there for sure. We'd do it again if we wanted to do Busch at the same time
@TheKershawsAdventures Gaz TIA is nice, but if you are going to Disney Orlando International, it is convenient. At Bush Gardens, the serengeti safari is really nice. During the summer, they usually include a free days admission to Adventure Island if you buy a one day pass to Busch Gardens. Thank you, and another great vlog!

What was the reason for flying from Heathrow instead of Mcr?
There was an airmiles flight available from Heathrow to Tampa so cost us £700 (plus seat selection in the end 🙄) for all three of us as opposed to the £3500 that was the cheapest we saw from Manchester….
