      Pettis now has his own organization, Showtime Fighting Championship. I just watched their first even in person; really fun, and a good show. You can watch it on UFCs FightPass. I'm wondering how that contract reads.

    Clay Collard! Sharply focused,good game plan, full scope striking anchored by those pressuring boxing hands and body punches. Anthony Pettis? Expected more, with a surprise absence of aggressive takedowns. The Pettis in the 3rd round is the Pettis I expected in the 1st round...but Collard recovered and started handling Pettis in the 3rd round, too. Collard is real. Pettis can still retool and rebound, but it'll take alot of work...and his window of opportunity is closing fast. It's time to show, Showtime. Good luck to both athletes.

    Thought Clay had too much momentum for Anthony to have pulled off that impactful kick followed by a knee in the third round, but that leg kick by Clay at the very end of the fight was perhaps the most fluent sweep I've ever seen in MMA.

    Fall from the top is a long one. I’ve always pushed boxing in mma and this clinic here is a good example why.
    Boxers suck at mma if they transition over but mma fighters that utilize boxing as an art form always do considerably well.
    Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz know this and they utilize the boxing in standup to its fullest potential with Jiujitsu as a foundation.
    Hats off to Collard. He’s an excellent striker boxer but can throw serious kicks as well. He gets is g&p and jujitsu on lockdown and he will be world class.
    Pettis is no joke either. He got that timed uppercut in on Michael Page which sent him back to the drawing board.
    After thirty or more years and a few years in the game myself , I appreciate mma more and more as an art form and Boxing is the oil on canvas.

    Thought Clay was mentioned as the underdog between the two, but he successully had in tent to be the aggressor quite impressively for some time, then Anthony's two lower body strikes thrown in the third round, you could see and hear the impact right in front of you. It's a wonder if Clay had even two successful "sweep kicks" for lack of a better term, in the first and third rounds as best recalled.

    I’ve always liked Anthony Pettis, but he needs to retire before he gets hurt. He looks timid, unsure of himself, and repeatedly backs up into the cage with his hands down. Reminds me a lot of how Tyron Woodley looked his last few fights- just unable to pull the trigger anymore.

    • @vinceventura4453
      @vinceventura4453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First off this is mma not boxing if u fight with your hands up you're trash , literally Anthony has always fought like this , it's called rolling with the shot , if the fight was ,5 rounds clay was done he was completely gassed n Anthony was perfectly fine,. The problem was clay is 20lbs heavier than Anthony is so every shot that he catches them with doesn't do any damage and when clay hits him at the office there's nothing impressive about being away clay Howard is trash he literally just cuts and absurd amount of weight to fight people he's massively bigger than I shouldn't expect you to know that because your comment was maybe the most embarrassingly casual one I've ever seen satisfies nothing like Woodley at his backs up to the cage so he can spring off of it both in a metaphorical sense in an actual physical sense Woodley would back up to the cage and not throw anything Pettis was clipping counters like throwing check hugs every single time he was up against the cage and he was letting clay blow his wad because most of the shots weren't doing any damage to him and it was working at the end of that second round clay was completely gassed and eating front kicks over and over

    Was a great fight...Commentary okay and fair decision. Since Pettis was a big UFC name I thought Collard was going to get robbed...

    It’s no surprise now that all fighters know to beat pettis is forward pressure. He has significantly slowed down been in too many wars and has that problematic hand that breaks a lot

    Anthony. Listen to your corner man. Literally the story of his career. Terrible decision making, he’s uncoachable, and he always ALWAYS gets backed up to the cage. So frustrating to watch because he is so talented.

    Clay was very good in standing, but doesn't know the classic ground and submission game. He miss the couple of oportunity to choke. He did nothing when Anthony gives his back too. That need to improved.
