Regarding the marigolds, for what it's worth I just watched a video the other day from a Canadian gardener/soil scientist who said the effect is only good where...I forget the technical term, but basically unless you have that marigold crowding in against the tomatoes, it's not providing much of an effect. She said that growing the marigolds as ground cover, then coming in later and planting those tomatoes where the marigolds used to be, is the best way to do it (because of course you're planting into soil that had those chemicals all throughout it).
I'm probably totally butchering what she said, and of course if you're actually having success planting marigolds the way you already do, then keep going with it! I just figured I'd bring this up just in case!

I love the variety of gardeners you’re featuring. I’ve lived in Florida and it’s like a different planet for gardening. And please don’t stop doing the things you need to to be successful. This is a business with hundreds of employees. You’re the number one resource for many of us. Haters gonna hate. The rest of us are here for you.

I’ve always loved winter squash (buttercup). My great-grandparents introduced me to them young when I helped them in the garden and I grow them in that very same garden and it evokes great memories. I planted like 5 seeds 2 years ago and I ended up with 96 good sized winter squashes.

Love your content! You and Jacque inspired me to add a small greenhouse to my garden. I was wondering if you could do a video on how you use your greenhouse throughout the seasons. I’m especially interested in how you use it (if you use it) during the hotter summer months in San Diego. I envision my green house being empty from July to November. 😢

I've lived in Florida for 3 years now. I just found out about Malabar Spinach, it's a great patio plant loves shade and is a vine plant. It's green or red stem variety. You can propagate it from a cutting, I'm growing mine from seeds, so Im excited they grow like a weed. I also grow sweet potatoes (just greens), I get only one hour of sunlight. And I still manage to have some good green vegetables growing all summer here.
I'm also growing Watercress, scallions, nasturtiums and katuk. I'm trying to grow okra but just not even sun. I'm in zone 10a. ❤ I've seen the butterfly pea plant growing here. I don't think I have any more space to grow it on my patio plus the lack of sun... But I will try. I believe anything is possible. 😊

Nice to see that there's some Florida representation here like I mentioned wanting to see months ago! Our summers are definitely not the time to grow classics like tomatoes, most squash, cucumbers, and most pole beans, so we have to rely on alternatives like Everglades tomato, Seminole pumpkins or loofah, Armenian cucumbers, and pinkeye purplehull peas.

Yard long beans were the first harvest I ever had from anything in the garden! They basically do everything on their own, just keep them watered and they're happy. Mine produced these gorgeous lavender-shade flowers that gave way to the beans. The flowers have a very short window of being open, so if you want to see them in full beauty, you really have to keep an eye on them. They'll open up and about 12 hours later fall off as the bean pushes through the center of the flower. We never forget our first harvest, do we? ❤

Patty pan is my fav. Put a little water in bottom of casserole. Wash & quarter the patty pan. Sprinkle generously with shredded cheddar cheese, garlic salt, & pepper. Bake at 320 for about 40 min. Toast some wheat bread. Cut into 6ths. Butter toasr. Place pieces on top of squash. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake until cheese melts. My grandmother used to make this every Summer. She came from New England
