Just letting you know, Eris is a hunter, one of the three guardian classes & Hunters are know for being bold, risky, & daring which is why so many of them meet their final deaths like Cayde did sadly. Eris may be the strongest Hunter ever since she lost her light & yet is still so powerful & remembers what it means to be a guardian & Hunter despite her hive obsession.
You're assessment of Xivu's wishes of a "better world" is pretty on point but as Eris said herself it's "childish cry" Xivu is the youngest of the 3 main Hive God's, therefore the most naive and least wise Oryx was the oldest and wisest, which is why he was the first to be reborn, from Auryx the firstborn of the Osmium king to Oryx the taken king, he was named the navigator that would lead the Krill to become the Hive Savathūn is the middle child and the most intelligent, the most cunning, she was the second to rise from the deep, she was once Sathona but now she is Savathūn the witch queen, she was named the God of cunning and magic for her intelligence, cunning and brilliance Xivu Arath is the youngest, last born of the Osmium king, her name was once Xi Ro, she was the weakeast of the 3, with no special attributes of any kind, besides her loyalty to her siblings, so when she was the last to rise from the deep she was reborn as Xivu Arath, the God of war, apostle of the sword logic, of her siblings she is the most loyal, the most devout to both the sword logic and her family So when Xivu Arath lost her family, the only thing she was more loyal and devout to than the sword logic, that's when her beliefs shattered and wavered, in the season of the Deep when we get to hear Xivu Arath's thoughts we get to see into her mind, understand her beliefs and why she does what she does, for her family, because if it's not for them then everything she ever did, and what they did was for nothing, and the sword logic would become a lie, something she so desperately believes to be the truth because to the Hive truth and fact mean everything, as the sword logic is truth and it empowers them, that's why the word Aiat is so important to them The word Aiat is a form of invocation that is placed at the end of important sentences, you probably heard Eris say it often through th seasons when she said certain rituals or incantations, Aiat means "That which is said, must be true" which is why the Hive use it when saying very important thing's, it's their way of saying "What i just said is fact, it's truth, there is nothing that can disprove it", and as i said before fact and truth are very important to the Hive because of the Sword logic which they believe is the one and only ultimate truth of all and Xivu is the most devout believer in it
In a lore tab, Ikora was expecting to *face the music* when dropping the news of the Truce between Lucent Brood and the Coalition forces on Empress Caital but instead, it was pretty cordial and stoic. Because Caital wanted nothing more to settle scores with the Hive God of War Xivu Arath. ;)
The further you get into the story the more you learn about what this is doing to Eris and how it effects her. Remember, at this point she and the Drifter are kind of a thing. And as for the quickness of how this all happened, that is the point, there wasn't time to sit around and discuss this and what it will do to Eris, because the end is coming and we have a very limited time to stop the Witness from doing who only knows what inside the Traveler. So everything we're doing is going to feel rushed. Instead of imagining that this is all happening over the course of a few months think of it as happening in just 3 weeks. That's how scary fast this is going. And the more we learn the more twisted things get. Xavathun is a great asset when she works with us, but she will always be someone who can never be trusted to be an ally.
I love how Savathuns recordings sound like the BioShock vox recordings Also the guardian waa wearing the Seaso bof the Deep battle pass armor and Ghaul skeleton Halloween mask
Vengeance is the perfect counter to War. The more you fight in Vengeance, the more you take from War. And if those who fight for War encounter foes they have lost to, if even one of them drifts slightly, they no longer tribute to War, they Tithe to Vengeance.
14:32 "That's going to be awesome, Eris Morn v.s. Xkvu Arath." You should have learned by now - sadly, if there's one thing Destiny does, it's get you excited for things that should be awesome, but actually turn out to be something else entirely.
Ok so what eris did was take power from the hive worm gods and name herself as a new hive god. The hive god of vengeance. She is driven by vengance, vengeance for her old fireteam, vengance for everyone the hive have killed and vengeance overall. What she's doing by "tithing" is basically what the hive do. They take a small amount of power from their kills, the rest goes to the next in the chain ect. But for Eris? Everything we do goes to her so she grow in power faster. Eris has delved into hive magic before and everyone doubted her ability until she proved she was capable. In season of the haunted she helped many confront their fears, in shadowkeep she helped us stop a new threat and helped us access the pyramid... in which she also accessed and learned about stasis and how to use it. Eris for everything she does has done it for humanity... she is human, a lightless guardian and after all her time in the hellmouth and to present she swore one thing. *vengance*
This season surprises me for how far it seemed we’re going to get inside the traveler Love your reactions ❤ Let finish this story off with a bang and WISH for the best
I think what i enjoy about Savathun and the Hive the most, especially learned thru this season, was we at first were just death hungry monsters with no thought or reason. But we learn they were once just a people, a civilization like ours, that made a deal with the devil to ensure their people's survival. That the Hive are more than what we see them as. I'd love to see more Hive allies and comradery in the future, since theres so much to learn of them still.
It's a shame that the animators didn't have enough money to animate this event. In another Lore Tab. Ikora was minding her business in the Tower and was suddenly pulled by her neck, startling her to the point she prepared to unleash a lethal spell, with Void powers. And it was Elsie Bray, the Exo Stranger and she was livid and pissed at the Vanguard. The two argued with the controversial desicsion of allowing Eris to use risky Hive magic. Elise says that in countless failed timelines she seen Eris fall to hive corruption and serve Xivu Arath, Star wars revenge of the Sith style. Ikora ends the argument by saying they no longer have any other options to stop the Witness. This tab made me personally nervous, thinking that the Exo Stranger might do something dramatic to Eris in this season.
You can't have the good without the bad, you'd go mental. Funny thing is that this type of thing was mentiond in the Matrix trilogy. I think it was the 3rd film. That version of the Matix was a perfect utopia. No crime, everything is perfect. It was basically what we think of as Heaven. But the humans rejected it because their minds can't comprehend living in a place without some type of conflict going on.
Xivu Arath might not just have selfish reasons for wanting to believe the Hive path is the right one, the doctrine of Darkness as revealed by Unveiling back in Shadowkeep is that the only real evil is that imperfect life proliferates and suffers, things that do not exist and never have existed can not suffer and are not worth missing because of the scale of all those who never existed vs those who have, ironically the Witness/Winnower do pity us, but the Hive's interpretation of Darkness is one-dimensional they don't see it the same ways as their masters do, if imperfect life (life that still hasn't evolved to its' pinnacle) is brought about by the Light, than the Light is evil because it breeds suffering into the world for no other reason than for possibility, because it can. A silent god as Zavala has come to see it. Unveiling is ultimately written from the view of the Precursor race (and therefore the Witness) and describe the Gardener (Traveler) as a petulant, willful and irresponsible child, but several entries are written from another point of view that is very glib and sounds nothing like the Witness offering a more multi-dimensional view of the Darkness than either Hive or Precursor could. I think if she's wrong, Xivu Arath is more terrified of having to account for their actions, that violence isn't a form of love and the weight of reconciling with that possibility is more frightening than continuing on it with doubts.
Savathun continues to be the best character in the franchise and one of the best characters in fiction fullstop. She's never truly been a villain. Everything she did was to save herself and her sisters. She's truly worthy of being a Guardian and always has been. She's the perfect antihero.
The Sword Logic is not jusy an ideology, it's a way to gain strength It essentially works as a mind of level up for the Hive - the more you kill, the more power you receive And through Hive rituals this power can essentially be taxed by the Hive God you are serving, so they gain power through victories of their subjects in a form of tribute And since you gain all the power from the opponent you killed, Eris is using that and Savathuns prisoners to her advantage
I know I'm a bit late. In my opinion this is the 2nd worst season from this batch (Defiance, Deep, Witch, and next season (wont say the seasons's name due to potential spoilers prior to you finishing the seasons.)) There is a lore tab i want to share at the end of this season reaction. One i personally like. Anyways a few notes (pretty sure you can guess that) Note 1: When Eris transforms into her hive god form it is like battle armor she can take it off when she wants to. Note 2: In a lore tab (the dark future), Eris becomes a hive god and controls the hive and attacks the city. So, a lot of people were very cautious on Eris's mindset during this season. (Of course, she has been undergoing training with Elsie, so that may or may not help her mindset.) Don't know if you picked up on why she's doing it. Xivu Arath gains power through any action against her. So Eris is gathering her own tides to match up against Xivu. Note 3: at 21:54 she mentions the deck of whispers it's similar to tarrot cards (we also have our own deck during this season that enhances our load outs which was fun to use. Note 4: 25:25 this was Xivu Arath conquering toribottle (I'm sure I spelt that wrong) Anyways can't believe you guys are close catching up with the rest of us. Crazy how people didn't like Savathun then ended up being hyped for seeing Savathun.
I learnt it from Critical Role campaign 1; "If I see either of you two causing any trouble *anywhere* in Vasselheim, it's down to the oubliette you go. You hear me?" "Say that word again. What?.... Oubliette?" "The Amaranthine Ab-blu-bli-bleh-bleh-bleh. What is wrong with me? Get out of here! RUN!!"

Blade dancer if I remember correctly
In D1 you were even able to buy the hood and cape she wears.

Xivu is the youngest of the 3 main Hive God's, therefore the most naive and least wise

13:11 you got love that even the worm was scared
I love that while you can see a few running away, there's one that looks... incredibly curious. Me thinks he ended up in our staff.
Gameplay wise this season was just okay. Story wise this season was baller! Eris the Hive God of Vengeance. Aiat.
I don’t think it’s ever mentioned directly but Eris is specifically the hive god of Vengeance. Xivu gets power from war, Eris gets it from retribution
In a lore tab, Ikora was expecting to *face the music* when dropping the news of the Truce between Lucent Brood and the Coalition forces on Empress Caital but instead, it was pretty cordial and stoic.

We tend to lean towards things happening faster since we watch it in like two weeks versus playing it over several months 🤗
Immaru, the loud mouthed potential stress ball. Even when our goals align he has to put us down.

Eris Morn, Hive God of Vengeance
Has a nice ring to it, no?
Season of the witch and the next one were my favorite pre final shape.
ALL HAIL ERIS MORN, HIVE GOD OF VENGEANCE!!! AIAT!!!

Pretty cool looking battle armor. But glad it isn't permanent 🙂
Oubliette is a fun word isn't it? I learned it from Metroid Prime Hunters on the Nintendo DS!
I learnt it from Critical Role campaign 1;
"If I see either of you two causing any trouble *anywhere* in Vasselheim, it's down to the oubliette you go. You hear me?"
"Say that word again. What?.... Oubliette?"
"The Amaranthine Ab-blu-bli-bleh-bleh-bleh. What is wrong with me? Get out of here! RUN!!"

This season had a great storyline, but the missions and the in-game activities were too long & very boring.
