It would be practical for you to type out the links prescribed in the infomation text at the bottom, thus avoiding errors on such long transcriptions on what is viewed in this video. Thanks. J.
so, for all the hype of the new efs web based system, you still have to download, print, fill out by hand a form, and FAX the that form for a customer number? then the same, for a second form, which has to be notarized and mailed? wow, just like in the good old days before there even was an internet or computers even. hooray for progress.
Absolutely agree! Who uses Fax of all things?! How am I even supposed to explain to a notary in India (my homeland) what I am asking their signature and seal for? All I can hope for is that the system changes soon. Until then, I will have to resort to being an unregistered applicant.
The TH-cam video states that you should file form PTO 2042a Patent Verification Form, and it gives a hyperlink in the video (which is conveniently not LINKED) so I dutifully copied the link address onto a piece of paper (really high tech here) and proofed it and then typed it into the browser line only to be given a ubiquitous 404 code from the USPTO site itself. What gives? Also searched the Forms site for PTO 2042a but found it conveniently missing (not to be cynical but I am beginning to see a pattern here) If you want to shove all of the human element work off onto the web files, FINE, but at least make the system work.
I think the video is needlessly confusing for pro se inventors. It leaves the impression that they should become registered eFilers before using EFS-Web. It mentions only in passing that this is not the case - that inventors can use EFS-Web as an unregister eFiler to file their applications online. I think it would be beneficial to spend more time on using EFS-Web to file an application before discussing Private PAIR. It would be helpful for pro se inventors to demonstrate how to file an application on EFS-Web as an unregistered eFiler without confusing them on the process of becoming a registered eFiler and using Private PAIR. More time should be spent on preparing the required patent documents in PDF format and uploading them using the appropriate document descriptions. The video could then mention the benefits of becoming a registered eFiler so that they can access their applications online through Private PAIR and add follow-on documents. Of course, this will soon be moot in view of the forthcoming Patent Center.

Useful video. If you placed links with forms of documents in the description, it would be more pleasant.

These videos always leave you hanging, and are incomplete, very frustrating! I know very little more than i did before....not worth my time

Can the patent electronic verification form be notarised in other countries? Or it has to be done by authorised notary in the US only?
