I'm an electrical engineer. This is a good example for this use case. But to help this out let me explain a few things. A amplifier might have an rms out put on a static sign wave input. This is the max rms of clean power at this point I'm going into a hypothetical without accounting for the efficiency of each component. But Let say you listen to only music and not tones. Let's say the subwoofer amplifier is getting 120 beats per minute. That's 2 bass hits per second on average. And each 70hz bass hit draws full rms power for a full cycle of 16ms that's equals 32ms or 32/1000 or a duty cycle of 3.2% keep this in mind. A duty cycle of 3.2% say this amp pulls 100Amps × duty cycle = the draw 3.2A required by the alternator to keep the car from running dead. But this assumes the rest of the electrical can handle that 100A draw for the 32ms. And this is what your really need to know for capacitors is the pulse power also known a Jules 100A at 14.4v is 46.1 Jules of energy and as a ruff number 100F of capacitor will with a max 1v drop is 50 Jules of energy. So to keep your voltage clean you 1F per 1A of input current when only using capacitors. The 100A draw at 14.4v is equivalent to a 0.144ohms of resistance. Using this info and the ESR of a battery you can tell how well a battery can support a this load OR you can look at any batteries esr rating and nominal voltage as full current of any battery is only at nominal voltage for standard agm/sla it's 12.8v unless it's a 14 or 16v car audio spec battery. You take max voltage drop you want to allow say 1v and divied by esr most good agm fall in the 0.005-0.010 range So let's say it's a brand new d1200 and it esr tested at 0.005ohm dischrage ok so this battery can supply 200A and this has a cesr at 13.4v of 12ohms. So it can output 200A but at 12ohms and the alternator 14.4v target it will only charge at 12A so the voltage will slowly decrease tell the cesr balances out the amplifier draw for the duty cycle of the music. The 12A easily covers the 3.2A we need to recover what we use on avg this is more than enough to keep the system happy. But all you need to do is pop some drum and bass tracks that push the duty cycle up to 20-30... 80% and the battery is over loaded the stock alternator will not keep up. And the system will become 2 stage Stage one is the first draw tell the alternator maxes out this might be the first 40-300A of continuous draw depending of the alternator(s) used this will be basicallyany voltage above 11.8v. Stage 2 is the draw down of battery reserves this is 11.8 to 10.2v after this point the engine will struggle to run or start back up all based on acid type batteries. My system is 8x avatar 1546-stu d2 subs on 2x taramps bass 30k. 3x taramps ds 2000x4 1x dsp Android headunit Ds18 highs, mids and horns. Over 16kwhrs of lithium. 500F of capacitance on each of the subwoofer amps. Custom Android app and subwoofer diy management system (configures the subwoofer wiring and tracks coil and amp temps).

@ricardomolina4605 I make music as well as do remastering /rebassing/ Dj/tech and it'd obvious that he and you have no clue what frequencies that are used in mainstream rap/hip hop and Specially rebassed music In mainstream rap and hip hop on average the bass is in the 35 to 45hz range and 70hz especially 100hz isn't even considered "bass " it's more of the mid bass that your doors would take care of and if I played you a 100hz sine wave you wouldn't call it bass not even if you were drunk. Now, lots of the people that are buying this capacitor bank are into rebassed music like I am and that music will play down to 20hz I know personally I rebass my songs to play in the 20hz to 33hz with the most common being 24hz and yes you can hear that despite what google might tell you .

still need the alt, but the cap will smooth out the work for the alternator, and help with dimming lights, and makes the hard hits more impactfull.
