I've been following this philosophy for the past three years. Best three years of my life. Thank you Jason.
"Life will begin at the edge of your comfort zone."
Fantastic.
One thing he said really stood out to me. He said something along the lines of would you be willing to relive your life over and over again for all of eternity? I pondered it for a second and concluded that I most definitely would. Every bit of it- everything from when I felt like I was on the top of the world all the way down to my heart aches- I would relive all of it and change nothing. Why?
Because every heart ache and tough decision led me to grow into someone better than I was before. Even if those sad, uncomfortable, and unfortunate moments were caused by me or not, I'd willingly relive them because if it wasn't for those moments I wouldn't be where I stand in the beautiful moments. I am wiser and stronger because I have been foolish and weak. At the end and beginning of every chapter of my life I seem to rediscover this conclusion and I believe that is why I'm so optimistic. This is why I'm so sure that no matter what happens I can still use it to learn and grow and reach for better times and make better decisions.
That's gold! Thank you for sharing your outlook.
When you step into the unknown. You begin to feel uncomfortable. When you step into newness. You force yourself to learn. It's about time we stepped with compassion and empathy. It's about time we realized our potential and who we are as humans. That's why I love @jason Silvia's videos. That's why I love this channel and that's why I'm training to become a practicing psychologist. I wish to give back to the world. But first to love myself. I love all who are humble. I love all who can grow. It's time to move forward. For the only thing that has yet to move the world, and should, is love and compassion. Mainly towards children in my professional opinion. Love your stuff Jason! You are truly one of the the greatest men in the world today. I'm honored to live at the same time as you.
I love this guy. I believe we can all be more then 100 years of life. The legends live as long as love or hate influence us. We are beings who have built history, story, and narrative to escape death. The people from the past that lived far before us may still inspire or strike fear in our hearts. The power of your own story. The power of my story. We are all interconnected. It's our choice how we will define the environment both physically and mentally for each other. This is our time.
Seriously , I'm just going to watch this video every morning !
this is my favorite one so far, it just made me feel genuinely happy.
Thank You For Shinning Your Light ~namaste~
"The world is full of clues and you can read your way through it" I'm starting to believe that. Some might say it's all just coincidences, but we know it deep in ourselves, we have the answers
Very moving and authentic. I wonder why moments of transcendence almost always bring tears to my eyes???
Truly awe-inspiring. I'm seven years too late for a comment. However your work is timeless and Echo's the eternal spark. Cheers too the many more videos on the journey ahead. And thanks sincerely for changing our lives in a picture perfect portrait of the infinite. Thanks again.
Pure drops of inspiration!
These movies are so inspiring. Kudos!
In a world where attention is the new limited resource I am just glad that it has so many. However I don't doubt many of them are multiple views from the people who take heart from Jason Silva's inspirational prose.
What is it to follow your bliss? To do what is "fun"? No. It is to go out to where you can't see the shoreline anymore and, in braving the deep, discover about one's self what you didn't know and didn't know you didn't know. Those experiences, bitter or sweet, that put us right in the moment of "Ahhhhhh"; that hint at the deep bliss that Dr Campbell tells us are *in* the journey.
I'm starting to write a book and I'm reading Joseph Campbell. What a great inspiration! Glad to see that he inspired you too. :)
"Follow your bliss"
My favourite shot of awe! :-)
Still wonderful upon the 100x viewing.
I did this--took a journey in my life when a hardship occurred--and am now grateful for it!
Powerful Jason Silva.
Your delivery gets better and better the more you do these. You've got it down to a pace where people I know can follow ;)
Love the fact that his speaken has slowed down a bit. It gives me the chance to understand him better and quicker for someone for who isn't a native english speaker
This channel is for inspiring videos, not just singularity or technology related videos
The vibe I get after watching these videos is phenomenal!
how freakin cool is this guy!?! so tuned in!!
I love this idea as well my friend! Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Jason, your passion and excitement in your videos is truly beautiful.
Be willing to treat what seems like despair, what seems like hardship as an opportunity to reinvent yourself and to transcend your limitations.
This video still gives me goosebumps
@frontview - I don't have all the answers however I feel at my best when I feel more connected to nature and the world around me. When I acknowledge other's pain not just my own. I feel at my best when I help to encourage inspiration and creativity. And I am grateful to all those that inspire me too. When we lose our hope, we lose our creativity and our inner light fades away. When we reach out our hands and encourage creativity our hope and our creativity returns.
These seriously make my day.
_"Life exist in individual moments and is up to us to make those moments are vast, interconnected and grant to make a master piece out of life. One that we willingly live again and again for all eternity."_
*Thank you for these words :'D*
so much nietzsche :P
@frontview - There is a feeling that one gets that makes them feel happy inside. Usually it is when one is there for their fellow man, their fellow human being and there for animals too. That happy feeling is showing us that is what we are supposed to do. The happy feeling is almost like encouragement to do things better for ourselves as well as others. I too have been hurt many times in my life. However through communication and compassion I am looking at things in a whole new way.
These videos should have so many more views!!
we watched this in my language arts class, everyone just stared at the screen for a couple minutes with their mouths gaping. This dude is a genius. If only this message hit home with the people who actually need to pay attention.
I agree, life does exist in exquisite moments.
we are seeing in this era, a true coming into consciousness a true coming into our own
An evolution rite of passage into spiritual and scientific adulthood an unburdening of the oppressive negative and a lifting of the energetic phenominon known simply as love unity
We are watching the dawn and it is beautiful
Why didn't I discover this guy before? Brilliant!
this is what i awe to and you are right about all of us bringing out the awesome from each and everyone of us..*****
I see it as more than "just a cool idea" Thank You so much for this and all of your videos. Love and Peace to All
wow, well done, man. teared up a bit. That is amazing philosophy. Faith in humanity 1up
Every time, the best moment of my week !
Jason puts off such good energy!
Live life to protect life, protect all life on Earth by reusing, reducing, and recycling. Pass it on.
Jason I don't know if you read your comments or not , But this is for you none the less. I love your videos , they are like a drug to me. You are right being in awe is good for you but its also intoxicating and addictive , that feeling where your skin crawls and your muscles vibrate , you can't blink and you can barely breathe for fear of missing something. Its a beautiful feeling.
I agree with alot of your ideas , in fact I have used some of them as the framework for my own ideas about the universe , life and technology and I think we could have a very mutually beneficial conversation about these idea's. I dont believe people should blindly follow the ideas of others not even great men , I think anyone has the potential to become their own great man and I think everyone should draw their own conclusions about life and the universe because I honestly don't believe anyone has got it right yet and if we ever do I think it will be eons after my life has ended before they do. But for me existence is a very personal thing , something that , whilst shared with others , is captured only by the individual and so only the individual has the right to orchestrate their own existence.
If you are interested in talking about our ideas feel free to message me , if not I just thought you should know your video's have made a great impact on me and my life.
I get what he is saying and it makes so much sense in a way by becoming the narrative or being the person you want to be, you become the main character in the story. It's like loving your self when you do you start to think this way. For me I find myself thinking I should do like this or I should do like that because thats what is cool but really the main character doesnt worry about being cool because he's the main character and he just is cool by being himself.
simply beautiful. The law of attraction!
life is art.. life as art
Awesome!
This inspired me like Crazy.
You never disappoint man, thanks again. You're making Tuesdays seem better than Fridays!
I love this! Thank you ♥
'How satisfying it is to leave a mark on a blank surface. To make a map of my movement - no matter how temporary.' - "Blankets" by Craig Thompson :)
I'd love to take a quote from this man, but I can't choose, everything he says amazes me,
music, the music is so well composed on your videos that the speech could be about how to make pancakes and one could be inspired.
Very Very, inspiring words!
lovely..just lovely
May God Bless You Guys,
You guys just made someone's day :)
Yeah I've seen both 2 hour long podcasts with Rogan and Silva. They need to team up more often. Sulibreezy I need to check out more..
You're my hero, for making these videos.
I subscribed to this channel for inspiration. You delivered
I believe in this idea!
Thank you
Everything you said is true, I went through most if that during my
Life
Yeah I've seen both 2 hour long podcasts with Rogan and Silva. They need to team up more often.
The song is "Utopia (Part Three)" by Dexter Britain.
I love this.
I really enjoy Silva's videos and ideas. Does anyone know others like him on TH-cam? Cornell West is brilliant too.
Can someone throw money at this guy until he produces an amazing documentary or movie!
Nice, Continue on in posting these enlightening videos.
@frontview - Real life is based on the choices that one makes. In some cases one's life is affected by choices that others make. In a lot of cases. If we can see past the pain and look toward the sense of connection by opening our hearts to the world around us, if we can let our creativity flow and encourage others to do the same. If we surround ourselves with a sense of compassion and curiosity, the world may look like a better place. We as humans do better when we reach out to others also.
great 1 Jason .
just found out about jason silva today, glad i did :)
This gave me goosebumps
My nephew lives beyond his comfort zone. He lost his leg and was burned on 38 percent of his body in Iraq. He is now an Ohio Valley Wrestler in Louisville Kentucky and will one day be with WWE. He has always loved Saturday morning wrestling since he was 3 years old. And now he is living his dream with one leg and scars abound all over his body. Since I can't post an address on here... look him up... Michael Hayes OVW WDRB He is amazing.
Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone
It is, indeed, a very cool idea!
Very cool idea indeed !!!
That's just dope!
love this video
once again. a great video. anyone know the clip at 1:40?
Amazing videos man keep up the good work and I will keep sharing it :)
mind blown
Why do these videos not gave more views
Welp, now I NEED that shirt that symbolizes it. If I didn't before, here's something to remind me lol
You don't have to choose that lifestyle just because it is "normal". Think outside the box, but more importantly, do outside the box.
@frontview - It is not how many times that you have been wronged it is how you have dealt with it and how you have learned to grow from it. I finally get open up your heart to love and love will find you. There is love in nature and in things all around you. You just have to choose to see it. Even if you choose to see it in my words to you. I would like that for you to be able to see the love that is around you. And may all things go well for you so that you are able to experience real love.
Talk about the ability to trancend our physical limitations. our body and all of its restrictions
Thnx bro
thanks...
Your life focus must be on helping others not yourself. Living to "interconnect your moments and make a masterpiece out of your life" and is a selfish ideea that only brings destruction around you. The true hero is the one who is sacrificing everything for the good of another.
wow...this inspired me
I like the previous ones a little more , the fqaster speech means a faster intake of informations and therefore an higher sense of awe :P
Just my 2 cents :D
The thing is that there's no set rules because all our lives are different. Only a guideline to follow. It's up to you to fit in your own problems into something you can manage and use to adapt. Overcome each adversity and never lose the thirst for improvement and experiences be them your family around you or where your carrier is going.
Unfortunately philosophy, in all its forms, isn't a rule book for life - only a rule book for thinking about life.
This is my thing.
and you're the coolest person in the world..!!!
genius
I can't get over how ridiculous Jason Silva is. Every time I hear him speak, he is super articulate, talking a mile a minute, and references more books and concepts than I can possibly grasp without listening multiple times. Is he on a super drug or something? It seems like he has a super photographic memory and he's on speed.
I'm a big fan of Joe Rogan and MischiefMaker37 has done some pretty great stuff with some of his podcast bits.
"That's just rad. That's just a cool idea," the hero passively stated as he fell and the viewer wondered if the hero would rise again.
