you can make as many payments as you want as long as you are applying all your income to the method. you find $100 on the street, you take that $100 to the bank and pay it to your line. every single penny helps. any time I get a chance to work overtime at work, I take advantage of it was it will help me pay off my debt faster than just two paychecks.
If you have a bunch of depth on credit cards banks will not give you a personal line of credit because of your dept to income ratio it’s hard. You will need to use your credit card as the line of credit I think more examples need to be shown with using credit cards instead of ploc. Alot of people right now that are wanting to do velocity banking are in debt and can’t get any more credit cause of low credit score.
Even if you have a sub 700 credit score the banks won’t lend you a PLOC cause they look at the Debt to Income Ratio and if it’s over I think 40% they will deny you. I have been trying myself with 3 different banks and they say the same thing. But for now is use the credit card as a line of credit to use velocity banking and once I knock off 2 cards I will try again on a PLOC. Cause from the videos I have been seeing it’s a lot easier to use a PLOC.
nope, you are wrong all of you. the line of credit is not going to increase your debt to income in ratio, it's going to lower it. if you have 3 credit cards maxed out at $15K and you're paying 20% on all three you're payment will be $396.58 ($246.58 interest plus 1% of the principal $150). I'm keeping it simple for you all to understand so you will be paying $396.58 x 3 for a total of $1,189.74. if you get a line of credit at 18% and you say you will be consolidating your debt and transfer everything from one credit card into the line you new payments will be $396.58 x 2 +$221.92 (interest for the line of credit as they are interest only payments) your new monthly payments will be $1,015.08. it didn't lower it by a lot, but it still lowered it which will lower you debt to income ratio. now if you tell them that you are going to use the line for something else like home improvements, then at that point they will add that to your three credit card payments and it will increase your debt to income ratio because you told them you're going to get into more debt oppose to paying off debt.
@@carrgrienier7726I have used only credit cards over the last few years utilizing velocity banking and it works well if you know some the small steps to finesse it better. Using a 2% CB card thru credit union with a 17.99% fixed Apr so not dealing with the rise of cc Apr like some the cards I have sitting in drawer @ 30% now. Try to get consolidated into only having 1 card used so that you don't have to segregate your income into multiple cards. This may take some time and I still worked thru months before was able to get a 0% 15 month balance transfer card that consolidated all other cards into and making 1 payment treated like a loan payment now to have paid off at end of the promo 0%. Once the main operating card balance gets brought down, instead of putting all income into it that month, I will make the minimum payment and then use it for all expenses while throwing the income onto a loan payment that month to basically have the same effect of a balance transfer. Also works out doing this method when get a new card with a spend bonus reward. Just did that on a spend 500 in 90 days to get a 200 reward card I got instead of paying a 5% balance transfer fee and not getting any reward using the transfer option as both spend and balance transfer was @ 0% for the 15 months. It kinda gives the snowball effect to being able to move debt around while paying it down with minimal interest charges. My main one @ 2% and charged 18% apr., well the cb each month basically is same or little higher than the interest charges while still carrying a balance monthly.
Christy, you are awesome, and truly a blessing to me and my family! I've been praying for financial guidance. I thought I found it when we were approved for refinancing, but then 4 days into the refinancing process I found your video. I literally thanked God, called the mortgage lender and canceled our refinance application, called our credit union and applied for a HELOC. We were approved! The whole process took 3 weeks, we're closing tomorrow. And one of the most exciting thing: our home was appraised at 4 times the current balance! We can payoff all our debt now. Thank you, Christy! You are so blessed and so are we! I will keep you in prayer. Btw, I just can't get enough of your videos, and I love your humor! Your sister in Christ, Claire Q.
And by the way, I'm an 80's kid too and I have 3 young adult daughters. I already got my oldest daughter excited about velocity banking, we're working on her debts too. We thank you! ❤🙏🏻
Oh MY Gosh!!!! I have listened to so many of your videos and started getting things into place... but this one!!!! Wow it made things click! I'm so excited!!!
but you might have a credit card with cash advance, and if it the advance limit is large enough, it can be used similar to a PLOC or HELOC, until you get your other cards low enough to go and apply for a PLOC. You'd have to pay attention to how the payments work and separate payments at separate instances to maximize getting the cash to make those cash only payments.
My hair cost run about 200-210 every 6 weeks. I've considered chopping all of my hair off to lower the cost but I'm pretty self-conscious and think my head is too big to be bald lol. I've decided to pick up an extra work assignment each month to help pay for the hair costs.
no, I know what you mean, but you need to learn the process to understand it. in one month you will pay those amounts to the credit card to make room for you to charge the expenses for one month. by the second month you should already have your line of credit, so you will have two options. 1) you go back to paying the expenses through your checking account which you will use the line of credit to cover those expenses because your whole paycheck will be going to the line of credit, or 2) you keep charging the expenses through the credit cards and once a month you will take those amounts from the line of credit and pay them to the credit card. so the credit card for $15k will go down by $1540, then back up to $15K, then back down by $1540 and then back up to $15K. this will continue until you lower your balance on the line of credit enough where you can apply more to the credit card besides the $1540.
So I think Christy is doing two different scenarios. Personally tell people i help to separate these into three different plans. Income reduces by 630 and 1540 because it is going to another source the same with expenses so it reduces down to 6476.00 and the income is 6835.00. So we basically set up automatic payments of cc1 1540 divided by pay periods( so if you are paid weekly then 4 per month if paid biweekly 2 per month) in the month. The same for cc2 630 is divided in to pay periods and automatically paid to that credit card. Now the remaining income is 6835 and the remaining expenses is 6476.00 when paying for the car with the loc. Then work it down like that. I hope this helps. Either way you can pay expenses thats going on cc1 and cc2 and still knock down 15k line.
Christy, I'm a traveling nurse with two properties. One at less than 3% and one that I bought last year at over 7.5%. As you can imagine, the mortgage for the recent home is killing me. Can I please give you my financial information so you can break down my numbers? I only have one personal credit card that's always paid off and I make decent income so it should be straightforward.
You can stop using the Line of Credit once its paid off in the 12th month, and go back to paying your bills individually. But if you wish to keep using the Line of Credit/Velocity baking, you are breaking even every month, so it's not debt. Best to then use the Line of Credit as a backup, emergency fund.
Arguably it’s the same kind of video just a different debt product. Instead of a car loan it would be a mortgage payment on a rental property or other business expenses related to assets that you buy. The concept stays the same, the products change
I enjoy watching your videos. I understand the principles you are applying. But I cannot get a personal line of credit. You also assume a monthly income. While I can estimate that, I get paid bi-weekly, not monthly. How do I apply my bi-weekly paycheck to my debt with your system every two weeks? 3 credit cards with $3,000 limits (not maxed out but close to it) 3 loans - 1 motorcycle loan ($179/month) 2 personal loans @ $5,000 each $84 monthly phone bill $1800 total monthly rent (2 properties) Gas and food are perhaps a few hundred dollars a month. I'm single and I do not splurge.
what happens when you get your two bi-weekly paychecks and add them together? you get your monthly income, with the occasional 3 paycheck in one month twice a year, think of those as extra payments. either way the process is the same, but instead of doing one monthly payment you will do it twice a month or 2 times a year you will be making 3 payments in one month. you can do velocity banking with the credit cards. start with one and once you pay it off, move on to the next one. if you can get them to increase the limit on one, then try to use that one only by transferring the balances of the other credit cards. once you are done with all the credit cards start transferring balances for the personal loans, then you will pay off the motorcycle loan last cause that one has the cheapest interest rate.
Christy I am so happy I came cross your videos yesterday.. I have watched many of them.. I have one question should I start with the largest % rate credit card to put the expenses (that you can) or on one of my 0% cards.. which one will be most beneficial in the short term (3-4 months)? Thank you
What if our defeceite is 1,000 with one credit card and one store card both maxed out and our mortgage can only be paid through a bank? Our total card debt is 4,000 we still owe 16,000 on car 485 payment a month mortgage is 2,091 a month
if you have cash advance you can pull it out to pay those bills. OR you have to keep the cash only payments in the account separate from the CC payment
Thank you for all that you do Christy. I have turned around my situation much quicker than I ever thought possible. I would like to get a PLOC but don't know where I should go. There are so many scams. Same with credit cards. I have 2 and would like a 3rd but all the offers just make me wonder. I don't want to apply to something that will do a credit check and bring down my score only to get rejected or decide against it. Any suggestions on how to shop for a PLOC and/ or credit card?
the first place you should try is with the bank you have your checking account with. don't worry about your credit score, it's just a number. if you get denied they will tell you why and then you work on fixing the problem you so don't get denied the next time you apply.
You're charging some monthly expenses to the credit cards so that's the amounts you transfer to those credit cards which then satisfies the minimums due (minus the interest of course)
I love your videos with examples! I recently subscribed but I seem to be having a bit of brain fog with this example. If in month 12 after using all the income of $ 9005 leaving a balance of $ 337, then wouldn't there be expenses of $8006 for month 12 that have to be charged to the loc since all the income in month 12 was already applied to the loc? I'm confused because I don't know where the money is coming from in month 12 to pay the expenses so the car loan of $ 15395 is completely paid off along with $ 4000 to credit cards in less than 13 months. Everything before month 12 makes sense but any help in understanding would be great.
Hey Christy, using my credit card to pay bills. Would there be any advantage after depositing funds the first of the month and pay all/most bills by 26th or 28th of the month?
Hiya Christy! I can’t wait to start Velocity banking next month. However, my credit union charges me instantly when I move/transfer/draw cash from my PLOC to my checking account aka no grace period for cash transfers. For example, my PLOC is at 11.90% APR if I draw $5000 cash from the PLOC to the Checking account, the credit union will charge interest at $1.63 per day. Do you recommend that I still park cash for daycare, students loans, car loans, other credit card debt payments, and rent in my checking account?
If you utilize that as your main operating account, you will only make those payments on their due dates and only should do the large draws like the 5k example if using to chunk onto a loan payment
Are they charging a fee per transfer? If not then why are you pulling 5k at one time to pay expenses? You only pull out enough to cover expenses. Now if you are doing chunk payments towards another debt or paying off something to free up cash flow you will still pay interest but 30% on a credit card is worse than 11.99% on the ploc. Credit card charges interest daily as well. The one thing about a credit union i don't like is they will charge interest on every dime borrowed throughout the month whereas if i use my credit card but pay the statement balance off i don't get charged any interest.

she transferred from the line of credit (part of the expenses) and then pays for those expenses with the credit card. Those transfers satisfies the minimum payments.
@mygoodlife204 yes, but the income amount that is put into the LOC is still $9005. Shouldn't that be reduced by the amount of the expenses put on the credit cards?
