Got an Akubra Federation IV as my first Indy hat, and reshaped it as best as I could to the Raiders style. Currently have one on order from Mike at the Northwest Hat Co. in a Last Crusade style. As always Kirk, great content! You are the gold standard for Indy cosplayers everywhere!
Well dang! Thank you for the kind words! And I’m stocked for you! Northwest hats are extraordinary! Please make a review of it when it comes! Would love to see it!
Would you be open to doing a gear breakdown for last crusade like you did for raiders and temple of doom? Or a whip video going over all of your whips? Maybe even a massive complete Indy gear collection video going over all the cosplay gear you currently own?
You know, I have been meaning to do some Crusade stuff but truth be told… I’m still building out my Crusade cosplay. Still need a jacket and weapons belt. Which is ironic because Crusade is my second favorite Indy movie!
Just got your video recommended to me. I collect vintage snapbacks but I admire your collection and am intrigued to learn more. Looking forward to the next upload bro
Awesome collection! I’ve got two Advintage that I LOVE and an akubra. I actually used your shirt weathering tutorial today to distress an Indy shirt which leads to my hat question: how do most people get that dusty look to their hats/ ribbons?
Would love to see your collection of TLC gear! Also, have you custom made any Last Crusade hats yet? I would love to order one from you and support your growth as a milliner !
Hi Kirk, Would like to see your thoughts on the true color felt used for each movie. I know editing and light affect the real hat’s tone but it still remains to me a big question mark. I’ve teached thomas from aDVintage and he told me true sable is the way to go considering his offering. I went for sable ‘cause it was the only one available by then. It looks good to me but i don’t have nothing to compare with! Cheers!
Thomas' Sable and True Sable are very good! For my Temple of Doom hat from Advintage, I went with the regular Sable and love how accurate it seems to be, especially in different lighting.
We should meet up and hang. I live in Parker. I have two advintage, one is a raiders in beaver, the other is a crystal skull in rabbit. Also have a Penman and a couple more cheaper ones.
Thanks Kirk for another great video! What are your thoughts on Tongnarelli’s raiders hats? I am in the market to upgrade from my Akubra and get something more “official” looking. I can decide between a Steele and Jones/ Fedoraider/ Tognarelli or perhaps a Broken Skull???? What are your thoughts and thanks again!
All those hats have the tight front pinch, but it really does not go straight to the ribbon band. It' stops like 1/4 inch (?, not my measurement) above the ribbon. Except for that, everyone of those hats looks great! My first hat was 56" now I alway buy 57 and fold the sweatband. My first akubra is now without a liner, but my HJ are with one (poorly sawn), so I understand, why Harrison would remove it, known that the whole filmig crew sat on it.
I feel the Raider’s hat is a solid 3/4” almost 1” wider than last crusade. Also the back upwards flange is crucial! few peeps remember that. no slouchy young indy style. i purchased an Adventurer from Akubra and had to reduce my brim. It was wider than tall. 😂
Realized sweat and humidity on my cowboy hat will shape it too. I went to a local fair and the sweat from my head made the straw very flexible. When I took the hat off to fan myself I was holding it by the crown and, to my delight, realized I was pinching it to the Raiders style crown. I tried to keep it that way but it wouldn't stay. Anyways, cool hats you got there, and I love that Peters Bros. hat! How much did you pay for it?
Kirk, what do you use for stiffener? I'm just starting out, and my hats are as floppy as dishrags. I've tried spray shellac, kahl stiffener, spray sizing, and spray can extra-hold starch. No dice.
I think the Penman looks more proportioned to your head and shoulders, very nice fedora. They are all really nice.
Great collection and great video, my friend.
Nice Raiders Hats Mr. Brackmann! They all look absolutely beautiful!
I bought my Adventurebilt a long time ago... before the 4th movie. I love it.
I have an Akubra Federation IV Deluxe and a Herbert Johnson Raiders style Fedora. I like them both for differing reasons. lol
Love it, man! That Fedoraiders is incredible! I’m always in awe over Jason’s hats.
Great video Kirk! Raiders style hats will always be my favourite. I've had one from Screencapped since 2018 which is still going strong😁
vid Idea: a budget indy build from scratch. including vendors, what to skimp on and where to splurge. Thanks for the great content!

Thank you!
Some great hats you have there, Bud! Love the tall chimney on the Fedoraiders! 👌

Ooh I'd love to know about your Steele and Jones items!
Seek and ye shall find on this channel. 🤘🏼🤠

Very nice collection! That Peters Bros. still looks great 👍
If you have any Akubra Feds I'd love to see them. That'll probably end up being my only shot at any approaching a 'proper' Indy hat (fur felt, etc).
I do! It's a few years old now but I have an unboxing, shaping and review video on the Akubra Fed IV Deluxe. Awesome hats!
Oh yea. I've seen it. Honestly I think I've seen every Fed IV video on youtube trying to psych myself up.

Most popular choice is Fuller’s earth, but regular chalk is also a fine option.
@@kirkbrackmann6385 thanks! I’ll definitely give that a try

My first nice Indy was also a Peters bros. Looked like a top hat on me for some reason
Awesome video on TH-cam I like the hat
Nice work again Kirk! Now you just need an AdVintage...
And congrats on 1k subscribers!

@@kirkbrackmann6385 thanks! Probably my next fedora will be a streets of Cairo from Thomas, but I dig the temple hat too. Damn
Great Video I am brad over at Peters brothers we definitely still offer indys. Do you have any straw or did you ever see we offer a Hemp Milan Indy.
Hey Brad! Thank you!
And yes, I remember seeing those! So cool!
