Your journey was the most epic thru hike I have ever watched. You are the GOAT in my eyes! Was actually thinking about you and your journey yesterday. Today, I got to watch this recap. So awesome!
They were the best videos I have ever seen. . .coolest hiking/videos. I still can't believe how you trudged through all that, and kept recording with a smile! When I'm cold, I watch these videos! Thanks
I can not even begin to imagine the roller coaster of emotions that entire journey was for you. Thank you so much for sharing and taking the world along for the ride. 💙
Sorry I’m late seeing this Scott. I sat astonished at every video of your hike. I’m 10 away from the NE 115 so I feel something kindred with you. You turned around and headed down by Lafayette in full winter attire because you recognized it was to dangerous. Emily Sotelo pushed on in very similar conditions under dressed and lost her precious life. May she rest in peace, I salute her brave courageous spirit. Built into the heart of mankind is the desire for significance. We strive to do something no one else has done. We seek to measure ourselves. I’ve heard people comment on hikers and mountaineers who lose their lives, “ They deserved what they got, they shouldn’t have been up there”. I instead celebrate people like you Scott. What you did took courage and resolve. The Creator has placed a spark inside us, may it never be extinguished!
This is so EPIC. I went NOBO in 2022 and ran into you at Dick's Creek Gap in GA. You were at the end of your journey and I was just starting mine. I asked for your best piece of advice. You told me to "keep my head where my feet are." I took those words with me all the way to Katahdin. Thanks for being such an inspiration, Aquaman!
Followed you last year, "worried" about you all thru ME and NH, always relieved to see your next post!! Thx for your joie de vivre....it is infectious!! Loved this recap!!
When you waded thru that first River bare legged it blew my mind. You are one tough guy!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your trip with us.
Will be tuning in on the 21st! Sharing your journey is epic! I loved and looked so forward to every video. Not only for your skills but the mental side you went thru and shared. Hope you are doing well. Can’t wait till Saturday!
I think my strongest memory of your hike while watching it the first time was how whether you were in waste deep snow, wading through sub zero temp water, crawling under ice laden branches or digging for a water source at the end of the day there was always that half crazed laugh!! LOL!! What an adventure! Thanks for taking us along and sharing this recap. Have a great weekend!
You, Aquaman were my FIRST- my first ever exposure to thru hiking and I was completely smitten ! The idea of hiking the AT and backpacking GA to ME became an obsessive desire for me. I watched every video. Even though your trek was obviously not for the beginner or the faint of heart, it planted in me a desire to attempt a Thru-Hike. Your laugh and positivity made the tough stuff seem worth it. Thanks for sharing your journey with so many. Okay, let’s do this - Class of 2023!
Hats off to you Aquaman, the most resilient human on the planet. You have inspired me to complete a thru hike one day and also to continue doing overnight winter hikes in The Whites. I just finished school so I kind of chuckle knowing how trivial it may be for you to do so yourself with your credentials. But … with all, I know how any important endeavor you embark on would be treated the same way, one mile at a time on the dusty trail. Good luck on finishing grad and I hope to run into you one day on trail.
What an epic journey you took (and took us on)! That was and always will be the most amazing series I've ever seen on TH-cam. I waited on and watched every single episode. I hope you're doing well, Scott. You're an amazing person.
Well done!! What an epic hike!!! I know why you got choked up at Hawk Mountain. Beautiful spot! Would it be possible to watch your fireside catch recorded? Thank you for sharing and congratulations!
You are so lucky and blessed to be able to do this. All of you are. Ive been trying to get where i can hike the AT for 6 years now.. and i just cant get ahead enough financially to afford it.. i have backpacking gear already but its all fairly cheap n heavy stuff that Just wouldnt work for a long thru hike.. and then plus the trip itself .. ill most likely never be able to even if its like half and i mean it when i say its literally killing my Soul.. we only get so much time here on earth . I dont want my whole life to be nothing but working myself to death and not even getting to see atleast some of the world.its just in my blood to explore and live adventurous but right now even working fulltime i cant afford to go on any short hiking trips..makes my life feel so wasted . Its just a shame going on a Walking Trip has to cost so much Now.

There were many times when you were doing sketchy things that I had to remind myself that since you posted this, you made it through. You posted a lot of good videos. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
man you are amazing ,i know people hike in the winter northbound ,but southbound???!! great job .just read your story on outside ,and this your first thru hike???!!!!
No, he was an AT NOBO in 2019 (I believe he hiked close to the bubble then) and I believe he also thru hiked the Long Trail prior to his 2019 thru hike. He is an absolute trail monster.
He started his AT SOBO hike on December 5th, 2021 on Mt. Katahdin Maine and made it to Springer Mt. Georgia on May 5th, 2022. “Aquaman” hiked through the dead of winter in the northeast postholing through snow, rain, and extreme winds for several months in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and some sections of Massachusetts. He then hiked the rest of the trail for well over 1,000 miles until he reached the southern terminus of the AT. He’s a ruthless monster and an absolute legend of the AT until the end of time as we know it.
This madman is even cooler in real life. He can do 6 uphill laps at Mt Ellen in under 45 minutes. Unreal!

Congrats my friend that is amazing feet (walkingman)
I could not do that way to push through
Well at least you didn't have to worry about any bear, and no annoying insects.
Can I schedule an interview with you please?
