Tom, thanks so much for your Matterport Pro3 Camera videos. I love seeing the mini-map. On your next project, can you wear a GoPro so we can see the first person through-out the scan? Thanks, Dan
In large open spaces and outside, you can get away with scanning further apart. However in most regular houses with smaller rooms I find that it still needs about the same amount of scans, maybe a little less. The speed is much faster to get those scans however.
@@sparksmediagroup regarding scans, I was reading the specs and read that it takes about the same time to make a full scan with the 2 and 3 so I was confused. Would you say its quicker taking a full scan? Thanks for your insights, really appreciate it.
Hey there, thanks for the video. Question: when you go from scan 9 to 10 and then 12 to 13 are you not getting errors about not seeing the last scan point? Cheers, Kyle
Hi.. no errors at all jumping, I believe because between 9 and 10 I had scan 4... and between 12 to 13 I had scan 3 so there was enough data present to know where to place those scans.
how did you get the roof of this house? is it because the house is so low that the camera can see the roof while scanning outside? do you have an example of a taller house jw?
Well, there's a fine line between having too few scans, too many scans, and just enough to give a good user experience plus have good data coverage for matterport to look nice. I don't think it was too many, I got enough to cover the entire property. outside, the pro 3 can scan approx 155' between scans.. but that doesn't mean it'll be nice to look at when viewing it online. hope that answered your question?
Hey Sparks Media Group, is it alright to contact you? Im considering making this large purchase of the pro3 instead of the pro 2 and would love to ask you some questions. It's for my website development business and having some questions answered would be wonderful. I need like 5 minutes of your time.
Great work! Can’t wait to do this with our pro3 soon!
Nice work! and bright blue sky

hi Dan! sure I can.
Hi, I'm considering to buy a Pro 3 but I've still some thought about the point cloud precision. Could you share please?
Hi, I haven't ordered any e57 files from the pro3 yet, however matterport should have sample files available you can ask for.
Sorry I have no need for the point cloud. If you’d like to PayPal me the cost of it I can purchase it.
Question...why would you position scan 78 overlapping scan 1? Would this affect the tour?
78 was inside the foyer with the door to the garage open so I could start scanning in there.
Very impressed by the outdoor.
Thank you
would you say that you could skip 2-3 steps in between scans with this new matterport?

@@sparksmediagroup appreciate the reply, thank you!
Do you scan with the 360 degree or the 3D scan?
with the pro3 always 3D scan.

Can i use pro3 for purely laser scans for historic archive ? Im also need to combine it with photogrametry
You could scan a property and then purchase the e57 file from Matterport.

believe it was because the roof was low. I don't have an example of a two story house but great idea for a video! :)
Great Video .
How is the image quality compared to Pro 2 please ?
I like the quality compared to pro2... i'll be doing a more official comparison of both soon.
@@sparksmediagroup Thank you
Also...why so many scans? I'm just breaking into the field, so I apologize for the interrogation...😊

Can you export to e57 easily?
You can order an e57 file from Matterport yes!
@@sparksmediagroup do you have to pay extra to get that file, our if you have a professional subscription you can get them for free
Hi, I don't know about getting them for free, it's telling me the cost is $89 for this scan if I want the e57 file.
@@sparksmediagroup Ok thanks
