I stopped watching.. The narrative is simple and repetitious! This ‘ could be an important discovery’ is annoying! The format of presentation needs to be changed and updated!
@@Torchriver67 I totally agree they could be finding ancient spiritual things down there and they’re not taking it serious enough. They’re looking for gold which is no importance when it comes to our spiritual selves.
I have watched every season but I find that I get more and more annoyed with the constant recapping narrator voice. We don't need it! Just show us more of actual looking for stuff, anything but quit telling us over and over what happened before. Please.

It helps to remember that somebody made it this hard, a very long time ago, including some incredible engineering long before a glimmer of our technology and machinery.
I have been watching since the beginning. The history itself is worth the watch. I only wish I could have been part of the team. Not for the money, but because the whole journey was interesting and cool.
I also have been watching from the beginning and you said exactly the way I feel!
There is real treasure to hunt instead
I forget where I came across the phenomenon of Oak Island, a couple of decades before this program but NOT the immortalized Reader's Digest piece. But the unique mystery stuck with me, and I have been rooting the Laginas on the whole way. You go, boys!

I totally agree. Even if they don't find anything significant, the history and implications of it is what I really enjoy.
Every time they find a nail , foot long piece of wood or a button it’s a significant find
It COULD hold the clue to unlocking the mystery. 🤣

I agree wholeheartedly. Also, why show "coming up " and "this time on" this plus recaps throughout the programme, cut an hour episode down to about 40 minutes of new footage. Surely they have enough footage for a full hour!

I have watched from day one. I now have a way to record if I need too. I don’t cate if they dont find treasure I love the story or the secrets the island holds.
I don't hold out much hope of a treasure find but every time I watch I am fascinated that people from 300+ years ago were building tunnels deep under ground. Something very clearly happened at that place and maybe one day we will find out.
I am getting a bit sick of the "may hold the clue to unlocking the centuries old mystery" lines that saturate the show.
Tell Rick to start talking naturally. He is starting to sound superficial. Having said that I love the history and the puzzle.
I find it amazing that people w/ limited tools can still baffle future searchers w/ "advanced" machinery.
I just wish they'd spend more time digging deeper into Zena's map. I'm quite convinced there's substance there.

@@RussVandiver With ref. your reply to Cran.: over the "Seasons" (very much Nature as well as TV!) I think these guys have resorted to every known technology for gathering scientific data and recording such. Wasn't there a long-term "muon" detection project early this season? (something like that!) What do you call all those drill holes, documented by the foot? Where the site presents, lot 5, they are doing it by toothbrush and screening. I remember a huge net of small explosive charges, recording, recording. They have brought in every scientific method "means necessary" that I know of. You know of some scientific method they have missed?
Archeologists use excavators when doing exploration and switch to trowels, pictures plotting, etc, after something is hit. Or possibly when the known layer is at a specific depth, they will dig to within a few inches clear a large area sift the topsoil and trowels the rest of the way.
Love when they all nod or looked amazed.

I gather they are not sure their viewers "get it" when something interesting comes up. So the "insiders" have to punctuate the event. I, for one, wish they didn't "dumb it down" so much, but most people never knew about this very strange phenomenon to start with. The whole "curse" preliminary is stupid, but I guess the word "curse" was supposed to get 10-to-12-year old boys watching, or whatever.
I remember reading the article in readers digest when I was in the 6th grade. I was fascinated by it and have watched every episode since. But it's been dragged out fat too long
I saw some articles back in 1973 about this. I was but 8 then

Thanks for your opinion but I watch because it has taught me an interesting history I can understand. Our knowledge is based on theirs.
Many are miserable people just looking for something to make their negative comments about. These are not viewers who are really interested in learning unknown history or the science of finding it. They would never have the intellect or energy to work on a discovery of this magnitude.
I love this program love history any thing to do with templers I really hope they find every thing as all the hard work that’s gone into oak island good luck guys all the way from England
There has been soo much digging on the island since the two boys stumbled upon the initial finding its going to be extremly hard to actuality find the mother load of the main treasure. Personally i believe it won't be found until after the second coming. I've been following the Oak Island mystery most of m life.
I love this show because they keep getting clue after clue , yes a repetitive but the artifacts they r finding r real & a lot of history is being revealed, keep digging cause I for one dig it & wish I were there, can’t wait to see them find the goodies& they will!
I am constantly amazed at the difficulty they are having in trying to locate the flood tunnels using all that high tech and expensive equipment when I could have had them all located and completely mapped out to within less than 2 feet for far less money and in way less time..
The whole damned island has rocks on it lol

I'm not old enough to remember oak Island in readers digest books and watching in the 70s things about oak island I just found it curious .Today I mean wow artifacts they find and dates are incredible including the old tunnels
they have no desire to dig, they would have by now... the show is a cash cow, that's their treasure

Lidar can only do so much they have used GPR that's a form of Lidar it's a great idea. Maybe one day they'll give it a try

I've been watching since season one and it's really getting painful to watch anymore, the way they repeat everything over and over and over and over and over. Could it be they have no content, and have to repeat themselves to fill the time, some suggest this is the case. ;)
I make Nordic gold coins for fun, I think I might take a vacation up there. As I’m walking around I will toss some into diff areas lol. Then wait and watch the show again to see reactions from them lol
Their biggest draw (the money pit) has turned into a 9×12 110ft deep swimming pool, so they decided to take a vacation to Italy so we can listen to them say "Knights Templar" over and over again.
And over and over and over and over.....
I record it and fast forward through it. Only about 5 minutes of actual new programming.
The constant repetition is a style if storytelling I have seen a lot. When you watch any documentary type show true crime show. I think it's because they think we haven't got more than a 5 min. attention span...!

I have been watching this for m gulp.. since the beginning. I can't stop I need help an intervention, rehab, bathed in a finger drain full of salt water anything just tell me Who & what before the 15 yr anniversary. Please But don't let Jack Begley tell me anything until he graduates from HS!

the curse says one more has to die before the treasure could be found but Jack Begley said he won't be the one and Billy Gerhardt said he'd give up eating donuts and pizza before he is the one to die so the series is going to go on for awhile..

They found the treasure way back from what Peter Amundsen told them. It was under the Mercy point in the tree of life, which lay on the left side of the swamp, when looking from above.
I think they are just trying to figure out as much about the place as possible at this point.

I guess mysterious tunnels 100 feet below isn't proof enough that something took place on Oak Island. Or the coconut fiber filtration, or human bone fragments, or stone path, lead cross carbon dated to Templar era..
drama music is fantastic, bombastic, enticing, all for some sulfur smelling swamp mud and tree stumps.
Sulfur smelling means methane gas. All it is is a decaying log or piece of wood.
To be fair ,this show is very hypnotizing, like sesame street ,or the Kardashians. Plus , the proof that the original hole had so many layers ya know ,but now to think of it ,I've never doubted the original claims ,however what proof is there about all the different layers of palm leaves and that message stone buried before it flooded back 100 Yeats ago

Trees can definitely grow in swamps. Look at Florida.
Florida's trees evolved to grow in water. Oak and pine trees didn't.

Everything is a "potential significant discovery"
Look how long they have been working. How many people are being used. How much machinery is being used. 300 or 400 years ago, it would have taken a century of work to do all this manually. There is no way a project that big and that long could take place without somebody spilling the secret. It's not in human nature.

The day I heard that Samual Ball came to oak island poor , then years later became the wealthiest guy on the island , and supposedly helped dig when the money pit was 1st discovered, that would of been the day I stopped searching , obviously you don’t become rich over night specially in those days , but that’s my belief.

@@Ddax-td7qy i dont know that anyone has ever looked and in the satelite images they seem undisterbed for a long time. Look at it on maps and youll see how similar they look. It almost makes me think the entire bay was used as a naval station

If there’s buried treasure on Oak Island,why was it never recovered? Maybe it was flooded and they never had the technology to recover it.

Any particular reason the “flood tunnels” are not simply blocked near the shoreline so water stops being an issue?
As to Smith's Cove, it might be much more complicated than the finger box drains. I saw an Oak Island Documentary from 1997 that stated that there is a flood tunnel leading to the original Money Pit that has its origin from the opposite direction.
I would be quite content going through a Colonial trash pile instead of searching for the elusive pot o’ gold.
I don't get why they don't examine these big boulders they find? There could be markings/clues.

Well its just about time to give up, throw all your trash and dreams into the holes you've dug on the island and call it quits, like everyone else did before you. Then, someone in the future will come along dig it all up again and marvel at all the artifacts and 'treasures' they find.
