- Well apparently everyone has made a collab TAS so i guess this isnt the first :p
Minecraft speedrunning (specially TASing) can often be quite lonely if you are not much in touch with the community. So i tried doing something new this time. Hope you guys liked the idea!

well if you didnt know many mobs can spawn in a chunk intersection, which makes this run possible, they could also have walked into place, the radius of the tnt is big so it would have killed them anyways.
Explanation of what a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) is:
~Refers to a speedrun of a video game, using an emulator's slowdown and rewind functions to reach an inhuman time. TASes do not use cheats, meaning that in theory, anyone could replicate a TAS on a real console, though no human has the reflexes to do so~

At 0:57 in 0.25 speed we clearly see he extracted 29 bones from only 8 visible skeletons instead of the 15 MINIMUM with max drop from each, required to get that amount of bones.
More, at 0.57 we clearly see when the explosion happen, than at least 2 skeleton are still standing and still walking.
And then, a CLEAR CUT with way more bones and NO surviving skeletons (by magic probably)
And when asked for it the runner was extremely defensive and arrogant about it.
But the facts are there, he cheated, killed the last skelztons and added more bones to get 29 instead of the 12ish expected killing that amount of mobs,
and that's obvious.

Also, he only have, visible at 1:08, 8 arrows from that skeleton pack. For 29 bones.

@@jamiewoodward9169 Tom scott made a video on it, basically the compression works by only saying which pixels change, and there is so much change frame to frame that the compression just shits itself due to data constraints

all these comments looking for splices and "cheating" while entirely ignoring that this run was made by two people taking turns doing segments. Of course it's spliced, the savegame literally moved PCs before being continued lol

From what I can see the only accusation that holds any water is impossible bone drops from the skeletons. In order to get the 29 bones from the skeletons there would've needed to be 15 skeletons minimum (skeletons drop between 0-2 bones). (And at that point in RNG manipulation I don't see why you don't just get 30) And they may not be on the screen for long but there does not appear to be enough to reach that threshold. RNG manipulation is a part of TASing as long as you remain within the bounds of the original game.
After going back and looking at it there appear to be 8 skeletons there (maybe 10 at most) not the 15 required
This TAS guy seems like they'd be a pain to play with, can never just chill out

I was wondering what was going on with the moss until I realized that it was being dug in a chunk-shaped square... then I was wondering why it was being done underground. Then it zoomed out at the end and I marveled at the utter genius of this TAS.

@@mrosskne my educated guess is that the only requirement for a mining-chunk speedrun is that you have nothing but air from bedrock to sky limit. start with mostly air, then you don't need to mine as much

I don't know, if this was analyzed or not, but if the mossification pattern is random, maybe it's technically possible to have every conversion cover the maximum area of blocks, and never produce additional vegitation, which would be significantly faster. I guess it also would be hard to code in.
Yeah overall i think we can improve this specially if i go in with 0.5 tps and do a really dedicated run and with your improvements and other stuff, but that's maximum 20 seconds shorter. It is faster to just find a better seed haha, more tnt and less blocks to mine will make this a sub 2 TAS

yeah, forgot to explain this but in the mine a chunk category mining a region of 16x16 is considered a chunk. It is used the same chunk in this tas and in the wr

Yeah ofc (i am new to the newer versions of minecraft so i have the same problem) but there is now a block called moss that when you bonemeal it it turns other surrounding blocks into moss, which can be instamined. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment

really hard to count this with actual time considering the random edit cut right around 0:25, and it isn't like a camera flick the TAS does, it's just a straight cut from fairly bright to dim along with a different angle
@@JoiH_Squigs that was an editing mistake, the "random cut" doesn't interfere with the final time, and i suggest looking up how a TAS is made because it is necesary for them to have multiple "random cuts"

Ohh you mean the chunk grid? Yeah, that was not supposed to be there. The rules on speedrun.com stipulate that it must be a 16 by y by 16 area, and therefore, you can use whatever area that you want, it doesnt necessarily have to be in the grid.

also is it possible to use tnt for the redstone ore or is it a bigger timesave to mine it manually? i could see tnt being used to destroy the redstone along with surrounding moss, the redstone ore seems to be the spot with the biggest shave potential
@@InvalidOS yeah i told AlPie there was a better way to use the tnt its just very difficult to prove its faster. If i could re do this TAS i would probably investigate the best use for it

I’m curious; how did you manipulate the RNG of the moss to exclusively change blocks within your chunk? Or does it simply not effect “wall” blocks / blocks with another block on top?
I'm pretty sure they were bonemealing perfectly so that it wouldn't hit the outside edge, let's say that moss can grow up to 5 blocks away from origin, then all you have to do is place it at the 6th block from the border and you get the maximum blocks in the chunk for the bonemeal you're using.
Yeah it does not affect the wall blocks. Also one of the timesaves of this category (idk if i should call it timesave because it may only save like 3 seconds and there are other things that may save a minute) is to do a mod that does the perfect pattern/luck of bonemeal to decrease the amount of times you need to pause to place and bonemeal the moss.

Nah i thought that the amount of blocks that the bonemeal reached was fixed too, but it is rng dependant (like everything in this game haha). If it were fixed (which we can do with a mod) we could do that part a bit faster knowing the patterns and when to bonemeal :p
