yeah what I really appreciate about Singnie is that she seems to have the attitude of "I trained and practiced for years for a reason". Like some idols will just kind of do generic pop singing all the time even if they're actually great vocalists. But Siyeon goes all in in everything she records, so you always get a tour de force of talent from her.

@Saipie I agree. First time, some months ago, I heard her sing in a live and it was bringing me to a different place. She's got a very smooth tone, but she has like a certain smokiness to her voice, that smokiness in her tone is what really brings me to like a mental image of a small little underground speakeasy where she's the main attraction.

Siyeon might be one of the best examples in kpop of idols taking pride in their work. Because the mentality that idols are supposed to have is that the fans are everything and your entire self-image should be based around making fans happy, but Siyeon seems to find her validation just from giving her absolute best in her singing. You can see it written all over her face in footage of her recording; she is absolutely living her best life. That dedication to her craft is a big part of what makes her so special as a main vocal IMO, because we ALWAYS get 100% from Siyeon even when it's completely unneeded. Her solo songs are consistently at the cutting edge of her capabilities, and she seems to enjoy belting random lines in the verses of Dreamcatcher songs, where she could totally have just sung them normally. Even many of the other phenomenally talented singers in the Kpop industry don't have quite the consistent brilliance of Siyeon, because almost no one seems as motivated as her. We are incredibly lucky that she exists, because people like that are truly rare.
