The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, a new and improved version, is scheduled to be released in Australia in February of that year. It will be followed by the much anticipated RS performance flagship in July 2025.
The first lineup of the seven-seat SUV will consist of the Select and Sportline variants. Both variants will be equipped with a 140kW 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive.
The peak power output of the European models is 10kW more than the current one. However, it is rumored that the upcoming Kodiaq RS, which has not been unveiled yet, will have the same impressive 195kW power output as its abroad counterpart. This will be achieved through the use of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
50% of all Kodiaq vehicles sold in Australia are RS versions, hence Skoda Australia is eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new model in around 12 months.
"The RS sales split has remained consistent for a considerable period," stated Kieran Merrigan, the head of product and marketing at Skoda Australia.
"Upon examining the Kodiaq RS, it becomes evident that there are no other options available in the market that can provide comparable performance at the same price."

In its original form, the Kodiaq RS featured a powerful twin-turbo diesel engine with an impressive output of 176kW/500Nm. However, in early 2022, the diesel engine was replaced with a more dynamic 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine from the Octavia RS, which delivers 180kW of power and 370Nm of torque.
The 2019 Kodiaq may offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain option for the first time. This would consist of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, an electric motor, and a 25.7kWh battery.
