Cornelius police following Facebook tip about possible Madalina Cojocari sighting in California

- The Cornelius Police Department confirmed Monday that they are aware of a Facebook post noting a possible sighting of Madalina Cojocari, a missing 11-year-old girl from Cornelius, North Carolina, in northern California.
A user in the Find Madalina Cojocari Facebook group said she was driving to Susanville, California, on July 5 when she stopped at a Valero gas station in Weaverville. She spotted a young girl there who asked for a ride "up north." The poster said the girl looked a lot like Madalina.
"She appeared to be alone, but honestly I could not tell clearly due to so many people there," the post reads.
In a statement, a Cornelius police spokesperson told WCNC Charlotte that the agency was "aware of the tip and detectives are following up" on the information.

She had a teenage girl with a car coming up to her asking for a ride, watched the baby ask others in the parking lot, and this lady said no?

With everyone having phones and cctv everywhere, the police should be able to rule the sighting as true or not, very quickly. Did the witness get a photo or video evidence?

Did I hear right? A young girl asked someone for a ride and this person wouldn’t give her one? And knowing that she could be this missing girl? Unbelievable! People are so afraid to get involved, even when it’s a young child, who obviously needs help. This is why the world is going to pot!
THREE WEEKS? You don't wait three weeks to report your only child missing, not when they are that YOUNG. If they're 17 and going through hormonal changes; it is likely that they left on their own. A TEN year old? NO. She did not leave voluntarily. FIND HER.

I’m not buying any of it, honestly. The judge lowered the stepfather’s bond to a measly $25k and the mom has ties with drug traffickers. Geez its almost like the Mecklenburg county law are corrupt and don’t ever plan on doing crap about this.
She should have gave her a ride to the police station, or kept her and called the cops.
