The battleship North Carolina was headed to the scrap yard. The children of North Carolina collected change and raised enough money to have it brought to Wilmington. Pretty cool and pretty dynamic. Also, I am an artist who lives at Wrightsville Beach which is connected to Wilmington. I'm pretty sure that in the early scenes when you're walking down the hallway and there's a huge painting propped on the left wall to the left, it is one that I painted. Now that was an unexpected fun moment.
I absolutely loved Megan's enthusiasm in the kitchen of the ship! It made me smile (it was very interesting to be fair). The beach was beautiful too. Loved this video so much.
I definitely dress more for comfort than fashion these days now that I am 71...love watching your family..I am helping raise my grandchildren and so appreciate the fact they love me and my antique ways .lol .and they love listening to my old stories of years gone past .I tried to homeschool my boys but it didn't work out. Fortunately they grew up and became great sons and take care of me since there dad is gone to heaven .your children are so well behaved and I can tell y,all are a close and loving family even when the cameras aren't rolling .and y,all put there privacy at the top of your list .God bless .my husband and I took our two boys to that battleship years ago when they were little and we were living in N.C...i found it claustrophobic..but they loved it .brought back happy memories..
Loved watching this experience! It was great that this battleship was very hands on. The kids seemed to really enjoy it. Have been missing these type videos.
Older people wear comfortable clothing because it feels good. I looked at that part of the video twice because it was nice to hear someone younger than me voice it.
I can relate...comfort and functional clothing!!! Pockets, pull over blouses and tops, elastic waist skirts and slacks...my arthritis and post stroke issues deligate my style. Nice trip!
Megan: I had the same thought about touring a battleship and then we did it in San Francisco. It was so cool!!!! Also, on your podcast you two talked about WONDER. I love that not only do you promote the children having wonder but you openly express it yourselves. Life is so much more fun when you look with eyes of wonder.
So cool to see .. I was on that ship about 56 years ago with my grandfather .... I don't really remember it but I have a pic of us on the top deck next to the guns .. wow .. thanks for the walk down memory lane !
Ah, Mexican food....the food of my peoples!! 😊(Ahahaha....that's me laughing with Evie!!) All the touching, turning, tapping, role-playing, laughing, grabbing, talking......y'all are an entire happy chaos and I love it!!🤣🤣🤣💗
Speaking of vacations.....when Daniel, comes home from Missionary work, where are you parents, together with Daniel, going to vacation (his choice) in celebration of graduating high school? Excited to hear where he wants to visit. God bless your family.
Megan I am totally with you on comfort over fashion. Please keep those affected by flooding here in B.C. Canada in your prayers and thoughts. So many people evacuated from their homes due to flooding and landslides. Parts of highways destroyed by mud slides and flooding, communities without gas and water, people stranded in towns due to rock/mud slides preventing them to get to their homes, and towns. Stores are running out of supplies. Thousands of chickens and livestock lost their lives due to the flooding. More rain is forecast. 🙏🏻
My dad was in Air Force. We help veterans and it’s amazing listen to their stories. My son is actually training for the navy. It’s important to remember our veterans and their stories. My ex work in the room were it was dark and there white cutout. He was on Waynewright
So the reason I'm thinking for the elastic pants is due to arthritic hands & fingers. They cant button or zip. The reason for the chunky shoes is probably plantarfacitis & other feet issues. I really dont think it's about comfort & less fashion importance. I love comfort & I have never been into fashion. I have lived my whole life in Jean's & tennis shoes & boots etc
Love the pinecone necklace Meghan. My mom passed in September and I grabbed her pinecone necklace just like yours. My sister laughed but remembered she did wear it a lot when we were kids.
I have toured the USS Enterprise while it was in Dry-dock if Norfolk, VA in the early 70s and the USS Missouri in Hawaii in 2004. It’s amazing how large they are yet they carried so many people on board and traveled so far on the seas. AMAZING!!!
There is a distinct and pristine feeling when you look and experience sunset. Also, this 🇺🇸 sunset is quite different from our sunset here 🇵🇭. Although, it may be due to geographical location or climate but its is just beautiful. Thank for showing what you experience and see out there in the US. It is like a breath of fresh air.
We took dinner to my husband on his ship today. It is smaller than this, but the biggest differences (as far as living/working stuff-not weapons) is the safety measures that are everywhere and there are TVs and computers. ***and air conditioning usually ***
I'm from the uk Scotland .two of my three kids where in the sea cadets .wee stayed on a ship for a weekend .i was with them doing female cover it was amazing xx
We lived in Raleigh 2012-2017 We visited that battle ship and used to go to that beach a lot …we live in Tampa now but lots of great memories there.. glad you all had a good time. Def miss Wilmington great place for history..
That was an awesome few days the battleship and the sunset so nice thanks for sharing and as always stay safe, safe travels, and God bless love ya Nancy Happy Thanksgiving
This lightened and brightened my day. Much love to you guys. It’s so funny, the guilt, for eating out on Sunday. 😉 I remember those days when I was younger. I also know that I always felt accomplished for the remaining hours of the day after church. I never had the “I’ve forgotten to do something” feeling. Not on Sunday’s. ☺️ You guys always make me laugh. It’s nice to see Elijah back in the mix. Next- Daniel.
Megan don’t make fun of the older ladies , at 63 I fit into that category and it sure does become all about comfort. My only suggestion is buy another pair of your walking shoes and wear them for outing like this one and then your not over using the walking shoes! And then the new pair ( in time)can be walking shoes and they will already be broke in 👍🏻Love your videos thank you for sharing your life❤️💙🤍
I enjoyed your podcast discussion on snowplow parenting. I, especially, was hoping you’d address post adoption situations, which you did at the end. I’d love to hear more on this. Half of our kids were adopted as older children/toddlers and one in particular struggles with any type of resilience. Even tasks such as wiping the table after a meal feels too hard for this child. A lot of the literature we read talks about how to create a safer environment and slowly build towards age appropriate difficulty.
My brother was on the USS Enterprise in 1969 when a bomb accidentally exploded and destroyed two of the aircraft elevators. The other elevators still worked and after emergency repairs in Hawaii, they continued to serve in the Viet Nam war. Later went “around the horn” as they were too large to go through the Panama Canal. Proceeded to Norfolk where they were put in dry-dock for extensive repairs related to the 1969 explosion.
I haven’t been to the battleship in years. I think since my son is a little older he would enjoy it more now. We live local to Wilmington and hardly ever see the local sites. I think the last time was when we took someone else. We played with everything too. So much history in that ship. There used to be a alligator that lived beside it named Charlie. I’m not sure if he is still around, that was a few years ago. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed your family's adventure touring the USS North Carolina. We have toured the USS Yorktown which is located in Mt Pleasant SC across the bridge from Charleston. It is a very unique experience exploring a battleship. I am of the older generation and enjoy wearing comfy clothes and shoes. My throat mint of choice is Ricola Sugar Free Lemon mint.
I love the beach at this time of year. My daughter and I are staying at a cute place in Oak Island, North Carolina at the beginning of December. I’m live in the Midwest and so I will walk barefoot on the beach. 😉
Pardon me for disagreeing but it is quite possible to be fashionable and comfortable at the same time. I have hated being uncomfortable with what I wear ever since I was a kid but I certainly love to dress nice and fashionable too.☺️ I love looking classy and definitely don’t sacrifice comfort.
Did this mini-vacation give anyone an idea of joining the military??? Pretty cool! Beautiful shots at the beach! Thank you for sharing your adventures! 🤟🤗
I am so grateful to the brave military veterans like your family members. If I were called to arms, it would be a real mess. Most of us are not capable of serving our country well.
What an intriguing trip. Makes me wonder about the life of naval sailors. I bet their inner reaction was similar to your family's, knowing they'd be in for many drills and adventures.
I’ve been on that ship.. so interesting! Wilmington is a nice little city.. you went on a good time Of year because in the summertime it’s extremely hot 🥵 down in that ship
Hi Eve , this msg is for you , “YOU" are so special girl , I like you so muchh just like little niece Janaki, I barely see anyone's intrection or communication with you , I know it's not easy to communicate with U but not tht hard too respond, I can see in Ur eyes U have to say & express so many things but U can't it's ok sweetie Ur brave & cute happy girl right & it's also ok when you say mommy & mommy don't even look at “U" , bcz there is GOD who is always looking at “U" and MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH ALL THE HAPPINESS . ❤️ ( NO hard feelings please just ...I can feel the same loneliness in her which I felt in my childhood , had no one who can understand me , still don't have any . please take care of her 🙏🏻)
A friend told me years ago he was supposed to be a gunner either on a plane or a boat im not sure wich but he said as soon as he got the order to deploy The commanding Officer told him and everybody else that the orders were cancelled and they didnt have to go I think he served during The Bay Of Pigs era He said had he been deployed he would've died because The enemy tries to take gunners out before hitting other Targets. isbnt that amazing?
Hint here. I'm so happy to see another clog out. Hoe many do you make in a week. I could go through literally 5a week I love you guys so much. Eve has grown so much since I last watched a blog. .probably because I had to watch from the beginning 6 years ago. Was lovely. Pls may I have esters instagram hair account. I can't find it when she announced it on her insta page. Looking forward to the next vlog. Take care and God bless 🤗🤗 what an awesome ship you went on. That was very interesting
Back in the day everyone went to church. Our country has changed. Christianity is only one religion out of many. Going to church doesn't necessary make you a good person.

Megan, you are so right about dressing for comfort as we get older. I am in my 60s and I could care less bout the
It’s not just comfort, it’s safety.

They said yes he was going after his mission on IG
Can’t wait for this!
Daniel is such a sweet caring young man. 💖
What a beautiful sunset.🌞
What a fun get away! Loved the excitement everyone had exploring the ship. Such fun family memories!
I totally get it Megan I’m a couple years older than you and I find as I get older I’m about comfort and modesty more.
Oh wow, the battleship was amazing, so big! The sunset was beautiful! I ❤️ watching your trips 👏😎🌅⚓️
Megan I am totally with you on comfort over fashion.

Megan is the perfect boy mom! So full of positive energy and ideas :)
Ocean sunset? On the east coast? How is this possible? I'm so confused😆 please help me understand😁

Loved the USS North Carolina - We went 28 years ago on our honeymoon drove up from Myrtle Beach
I loved this vlog. Thank you.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Hugs from Missouri 🤗
I'm 58 now. I wear everything for comfort now. As long as it's clean. I don't care anymore. 😏
Always look forward to your great family vloggs xx💖💖🥰
I used to love going to Plymouth navy days in the uk 🇬🇧 and exploring the warships and submarines
Hello from Australia
My granny always has peppermints or fire jolly rancher in her pocket or purse ♥️
This was a cool one guys

Good day all, may i ask what town you are staying on the coast? The pier/ boardwalk is appealing.
Did this mini-vacation give anyone an idea of joining the military???
Pretty cool! Beautiful shots at the beach! Thank you for sharing your adventures! 🤟🤗
That was really a interesting tour on that boat too
I need to take a long vacation - I'm just done with it looooool !!!!! Take care !!!!!!
Hello from England 👋🏻
Elijah looks just like mike!
I love searching for sharks teeth along the N. Carolina coast.
Altra is the best! I have a running pair and just bought a pair of hiking shoes. Their wide toe box is the best.
Andrew’s really funny ❤️
Night time beaches in the Carolina's are the best... Will be your way Dec 2-5, if Andrew is doing a tour let me know...
That was so cool!👏
Oh sweet Wilmington. That's our first home. There's some great thrifting in the area.. Hope you got to visit "The Ivy Cottage" If not, next time 🙂
HELLO FROM DUBAI!!!!!!
A tissue tucked into your sleeve Megan!
How I watch K&S- "That's great! Great! ...So when we goin' thrifting?" :)
Visit California sometime ! ❤️
Both my parents are Navy vets and I have a relative that was KIA in Vietnam so his name is on the wall. This was neat to watch.
I am so grateful to the brave military veterans like your family members. If I were called to arms, it would be a real mess. Most of us are not capable of serving our country well.
Had to look up French peas.
What an intriguing trip. Makes me wonder about the life of naval sailors. I bet their inner reaction was similar to your family's, knowing they'd be in for many drills and adventures.
Were you all in Wilmington,NC ,my brother lives there . Have fun 😀
I suggest watching Mr. Roberts with Henry Fonda and James Cagney. The movie is set on one of those old warships.

I kept wanting to sing "if I could turn back time" while you were on that warship 😅
Am I the only one that noticed Elijah and Esther were matching in yellow

Elijah is the image of his father.
Have you been to the old fort?
How would you feel if one of your sons wanted to join the military?

Back in the day everyone went to church. Our country has changed. Christianity is only one religion out of many. Going to church doesn't necessary make you a good person.
I’m confused, why were there birthing quarters on the ship?
“Berth”….not birth….sleeping area
@@hayleycharles997 🤦🏿♀️ thank you so much for clearing that up🤣
Congrats on the “promotion” Mike! I’m also craving a spontaneous trip.
Take the spontaneous trip soon! You deserve it
Eve’s laugh is EVERYTHING! Her laugh brings such joy to my heart! ❤️
You’re in my hometown
