Hi Chris, you're always as entertaining as usual. It's just the reality of detecting good days bad days. I would always watch your videos regardless of what you find you're an absolute gent. Great presenter and educator, through your videos, i have learnt this hobby and owe you and digger dawn. i owe my education on detecting.i have my own permissions and found my 1st item to go on the poa site. I am proud to be a detectorist and saving history up here in Lancashire

hiya chris...i don't do much beach detecting...but seems to me you gave it a good try & thats the purpose of these video's...to give the viewers an idea how the machine performs, i think you did an ace job...everyone who's detected before should know, you have to dig the rubbish before you get the good stuff, and the 900 picked out the targets really well...like any new detector "it's a learning curve" well done to ya...onto the next ! take care GL&HH Gordon.

Just starting out in the hobby and this ( 1:10 ) has exactly been my thinking as my health isn't what it was and isn't likely to get better so now is the time. I'll be 45 this year, i was considering getting into the hobby 10 years back but never got round to it.
I haven't decided on a what to buy yet. I don't want to buy something and then feel the need to upgrade later so would prefer to buy once. Been looking at the Legend, Equinox 700 or 800. The 900 would be nice but struggle to justify the cost. I wonder what other peoples recommendations are. I notice there are less frequencies on the 700 compared to the slightly lower priced Legend.
I've now signed up for NCMD membership and going to start knocking doors for permissions while i try and decide. Would love to hear recommendations please fellow detectorists with far more knowledge on the subject than i.
Remember how many people walk there dogs and get no money rewards but still get exercise, fresh air, and absence of well being, you have the chance to get all that and possibly more 🤣🤣, I Enjoyed the video, was it my imagination or did the target move once you had taken first shovel full of sand and rechecked target hole ??
Well done for getting out, if you don't go out you won't find anything.. 40p is better than nothing, and it's all learning with a new machine.
I'm not too keen on beach detecting, not had much luck there.. much prefer a field or some woodland to detect 😀
Me too. Much prefer being in the countryside. I grew up at the seaside not far from here (Hastings) and now live in Scotland. The only thing i don't like about woodland is the tree roots.
@MM0SDK I've got an Evolution SE spade, think that's what it's called. It cuts through just about anything.

That’s how it goes some days, real beach detecting is like that and most new detectorists think they will find great things straight away, you don’t it takes time and luck 🤞

I am getting my new 900 delivered tomorrow..my last detector was a Whites Dfx...i hope i like this 900
..
My question to you is when i go detecting on the beach in the beach one mode...
Do i need to adjust the sensitivity or other settings or is it all automatic in beach 1 other than me having to ground balance?...
I obviously have a lot to learn about this great detector and i will..
But for now id like to try it at the beach...
Any info or Personal beach sensitivity settings you could share with me would be very appreciated!
