But the guy on the left lane was about to pass one on the right lane, but saw us coming.. he braked very hard (far in front of us) to make way and go to the right lane. We put our hazards on as a "thankyou" then he flashed his lights as a "no problem" then he joined us on our way. I love the respect in traffic :)

Laws are different than other countries they won't purposely collide with a car they're i pursuit of for example pit maneuvering. There's laws against JP police im regards to safety and property damages so they really just try just push everyone away and out of the area as seen in this video. Also, most people are absolute trash at driving here aside from truck, bus, police, any commercial or organizational agency's drivers for the most part which they do require a higher license.
