      Totally agree! My cat scratched my dad's dog because she got too close when sniffing her, and basically got her down her face and knicked her eye in the corner. Vets charged me $700 for consult, treatment, and follow up. However I took responsibility for my cats action. I would of still paid if it wasn't my dad's dog as that's the right thing to do. If an animal causes another animal harm, that owner is fully responsible.

      So true.
      I live in Europe but I have a holiday home in Florida. My dog (a tea cup Pomeranian) ate a but of a marijuana in the park and got crazy (we just saw her crazy and after a stomach cleaning the doctor gave us the reason). We went straight to the vet and they made the cleaning and stayed a couple hours in observation. They asked us 2.5k for this. In Europe it would be 100-200 euros max.
      When they see desperate people coming in they charge big bucks.

      We have a neighbor who got fined for fare evading on public transport. The dummy used our address instead of hers and we kept getting letters for the fine that kept increasing. The latest one was a court summons. We keep sending the letters back writing "not found at this address" but it's not doing anything. We considered handing it to her in person, but that would be risky because she could just throw it out and we'd still be assumed to be the ones responsible. Also her and her family are the psychos of the neighborhood and we've been living in peace here for the past 15 years, we don't want them to turn on us. I'm actually looking forward to when they track her ass down properly and deal with her, that will teach her to use our address to commit crimes😅

You don’t want the police showing up at your residence. Who knows what kind of trouble your neighbor is getting up to.

    • @abbiereynolds8016
      @abbiereynolds8016 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@misscleo378 The thing is, we didn't even open the envelope, so we weren't able to see any phone number. I just shone a light through it and barely made out what was on the letter. There was a map to the nearest court house, and some warning in red font. We just wrote return to sender on it again, and took a picture of it as evidence, then sent it back in the post. If the cops do show up, which to be honest I seriously doubt they ever will, because where I live they're a bit too laid back, and this would be considered a "petty" crime anyway, we figured we'd just let them know there's no one with that name living in our house, it's not like there's anything they can do about it.
      This girl and her family have been up to a lot shady things for as long as we've been living in this neighborhood, the police have been called to their house so many times that she has no fear of them. Anytime they show up she greets them at the door with a big grin on her face because she thinks she's untouchable.
      She's the type that if we directly confronted her about the letter and gave it to her herself, she'd just throw it away and the transport authority would think we're the ones ignoring their warning letters. Then her and her equally crazy mother will start causing trouble for us, we've seen how they turned against another neighbor who they used to be on good terms with, the mother literally bit this neighbor on the arm while they were fighting in the middle of the street, on another occasion they even sent thugs to their house to intimidate them while they were beefing. They're not very nice people, so with this in mind you can see why we would be cautious to confront them about this situation. Sending it back to them is the only reasonable thing to do in our particular situation that limits any interaction between ourselves and that crazy nutjob's family. Anyway, it's been about 3 weeks since we got that letter and so far nothing else has come of it, so I'm assuming they've finally sorted it out. If they haven't, and we get yet another letter, then we'll give the phone number suggestion a try.

      A dog bit me while I was out jogging. Pretty harmless bite. But my husband was paranoid and took me to the hospital anyway. I did get the dude's license plate and was able to trace the guy. The police did go and quarantine the dog and they gave a phone number to them. When I tried calling the number on the report, the phone had been disconnected. I would've pursued further but I had moved away by then and the bill was only $100.

      @groowanderer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I think it's inhumane and cruel to keep a cat locked up in a house all day everyday. You'd prob be the first to cry about animals locked up in a zoo but then deny your own feline freedom. They're hunters, roamers, and all their instincts yearn for outside.

    • @judyfrost175

      @@groowanderer Agree about zoo/ wild animals, they shouldn't be pets or locked up.
      I fed a stray cat for a year. (He was abandoned, not feral.) He started coming into the house in the winter. One day he showed up with a bloody paw & limping. The vet said he didn't know how the cat got fractured toes & a cut, that maybe someone injured him. Plus, he got into lots of fights & has FIV. They said keep him inside so he doesn't spread FIV & for his safety. He has the run of the house, his own bedroom, and we paid hundreds of $ for a custom made screen door, so he. can

      @judyfrost175 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So he can get fresh air & look outside. I feed a feral cat & made him a shelter for the winter.
      Indoor pets live longer & stay healthier. I worked at an SPCA & every day, ppl brought in a box w kittens that that " just found," were never adopted & " put to sleep" there. That's what is sad, ppl don't care for their pets. Winter is not a great time for cats or dogs. They have the " freedom " to
      freeze & starve. 🤔😰 Outside???!

    • @groowanderer
      @groowanderer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@judyfrost175 I'm not saying I make em stay outside. My cat comes to my door, I let him back in. He typically goes outside during the day and he always comes in for the night. Of course I also realize I'm 100% responsible for any and all vet bills incurred. I don't have predators, but if ever any came around my dogs would rip em to shreds. All my cats lived to ripe old ages, and were never denied freedom.
