Nice, mellow sax playing with the reverb and the shruti box. Relaxing. Meditative. I was participating in a flute circle the other day. One of the musicians had a shruti box that he rigged up to a foot pedal, using what looked like a bicycle brake cable. That way, he could pump the shruti box with his foot, and have both hands free for his instrument. In another TH-cam video, I saw a woman singing and playing her bodhrán drum, while pumping the shruti box between her calves (moving her knees in an out).
I'm not sure I've ever heard the sax sound so beautiful before. I only just learned about the shruti box tonight here on youtube and stumbled across your video. So beautiful, so peaceful. What a gift you've got, thanks for sharing it.
I know this was posted a long time ago, but if you're still at it, I wanted to let you know that this is a great showcase of sounds right here. and I thought you'd really enjoy the sruti box pedal so that you can play it hands free!
Lovely, mesmerizing, hauntingly beautiful and, set against the backdrop of the Chicago Cubs this evening once more flaming out, a performance most apropos.
Excellent. You and the saxophone have become one...as if it has become your own programmed through the core of your being. May it find the harmony within...Best wishes.
Oh my, you make it so beautiful! Currently, my friend has got an alto sax and I've also got a sruti and I so some throat singing, and it sounds great; but this makes me want him and I to work on it a little more
Super beautiful playing I love it! Is that recorded at funkhaus? And what exactly does the "well tempered" tuning imply? Since the drones are in 4ths and 5ths wouldn't that mean pythagorean tuning?
Some of them come with a cable fed pedal to operate it hands free. I'm sure Hayden knows that but operates it by hand just for that extra dynamic control.
Thought you were going to email me so that I could send you a script for HSIII? Hope your folks had a good time in the EU. Your solo was great, you blew a few minds. I recorded it with my Sony M-10 is good.

I guess it’s that time again for my yearly obsession-with-Hayden-Chisholm phase.

One would think it not beyond the wit of man to devise one that self- operates

@@SirBoopBoop Indian music has foot operated drones of all shapes and sizes
@John Lawrence Indeed lol. I bought a foot operable Shruti Box because of watching Hayden. It's great for practicing scales and improvising.

Do I understand correctly that you altered the tuning of the sruti box as to meet a well tempered tuning? Like Werckmeister, or Lehman?
Haha

true beauty manifestation
Is this a male or female sruti box? Thank you!
In the steppe with squrals and foxes listening at his feet.
There was a fish.
IN THE PERCOLATOR.
LO MEIN
why not record or loop sruti and use both hands to play sax to its full capacity?
