I love this match. Actually this whole tournament was easily the best slam of 2012. Such epic matches, especially on Azarenka's side. The QF, SF and final were nerve wrecking epic affairs
I'm glad Azarenka won, but I was so proud of Stosur for playing well and trying her best to defend her title. I really hope she can build on this tournament and play consistent tennis because that's her main problem she is so up and down.
The point at 0:49 is definitly my favorite Azarenka point, the variation and then that gorgeous backhand down the line. This was a really fun match to watch, and good for Stosur she was finally able to take a set off of her! One of the best AO's in a while, Azarenka really deserved the title, but Serena proving to strong mentally once again
Hi ! Great Video, great match. I just wanted to ask, could you upload Stosur vs Errani at the 2012 French Open please ? That would be great. Keep up the good work ! :-)
I think Azarenka is still trying to improve her versatility. She's going to be big in the future from my opinion, strong mental strength and among players these days, she have quite a tricky game.
Damn Stosur hit the ball with heavy top spins. Couple of times here the balls move in such a weird way. Before there was Iga Swiatek, Stosur was among the first few women who utilizes heavy top spins effectively. Azarenka back then was a worthy world no 1 player. I could only think of her & Serena as a worthy no 1 player back in the 2010s.
This match highlights the cruelty of tie-breakers, especially in a Grand Slam Quarter-Final. Otherwise, incredible match. Stosor was bringing out the best in Azarenka.
You have to understand what you're comparing. Look how many times in this match Stosur went to a slice backhand on neutral shots. Those give Azarenka time, and even when Stosur slices well, Azarenka gets the point in her hands and isnt afraid to rip an angle. She didnt look as good against Serena because Serena doesnt give her those type of opportunities nearly as much. Serena also rips it when shes driven far off court and Stosur slices it hard to dip the ball.
When i watch this tears come to my eyes. Sam played unbelievable and she should have won! But the most incredibly annoying thing was that after this mindblowing match - the best of 2012 for me, Azarenka was nowhere near this level in the final. I'v very pissed at her!
Stosur has the superior serve, and forehand. I guess the difference is the backhand exchanges because Stosur has a weak backhand. Stosur has so much talent but again when it really matters in the tight situations she crumbles under the pressure. Stosur should have won this match.
I don't like Vika's grunts and I'm a huge Stosur fan, but even I thought this was a great match. Totally agree with everyone who hope this match help Sam become a much more consistent force on the tour. Can Vika beat Serena? I doubt it.. But we'll see!
Got to hand it to stosur, I thought she was going to get blasted out of the court but she did really well and didn't crumble against a player she struggles with, the thing I don't like about the US Open is it goes to a tie-breaker in the final set and I think if it carried on with serve Stosur would have won but anyways now we have a serena vika final which is what I wanted all along =).
Stosur lost this match because as other posters have mentioned her backhand is a big weakness. When Stosur slices the backhand when she gets into a defensive position instead of ripping it and it allows Azarenka to dictate the point. Stosur was never in the lead in this match always playing catch up. I also feel Stosur uses the kick serve too much needs more variety on the serve. Where are the body serves or a slice serve or a flat serve? Stosur also seemed kind of slow in this match.
Azarenka's grunt is ridiculous. It's not even grunting, it's fucking howling. Like a poodle - totally absurd. And I don't even mind when the players make noise but Azarenka's is criminal. She literally howls until the other player has hit the ball.
calling Azarenka best player of 2012 over Serena is crazy. Serena won wimbledon, the olympics, the usopen the season ender. Not to mention like 3 tournaments in a row before the french. You can call Azarenka the #1, but the best player of 2012 is crazy talk...
Don't worry I can play this word game just as much as u, so watch out!! and just saying, generally when someone hates a person for their qualities, sexuality or beliefs the person usually hates them as it exists in the hater so...........
Yes, this creature will retire soon. Old and stupid haha. Millions of what? Of unforced errors and clown numbers, yes, I know hahaha. If I want, I take every video of Stosur thing and I will comment what I want. Problems?

you should show the result of when people challenge

Good match. I am sorry I have to mute the video
so true!!!!!!
Wow, I never realized that the crowd cheered a lot louder for Stosur than they did for Azarenka. hahaha
Azarenka used to have a more aggressive game in her prime.
still can't believe azarenka's only ace was on break point at 5-5, bad luck sam!

its hard to believe this is the same stosur from today.........
Match of the Tournament on the ladies side. Coulda gone either way. You'll get her next time Sammy.

2 pussycats’ epic fight for glory! The Polish-born Stosur lost this time.
I did not know Stosur is of Polish descent. To what degree?
Azarenka's grunt is ridiculous. It's not even grunting, it's fucking howling. Like a poodle - totally absurd. And I don't even mind when the players make noise but Azarenka's is criminal. She literally howls until the other player has hit the ball.
oh your so funny, for a heartless person you've got quite a sense of humour hahahaha!!!

She was born in Australia, and so were her parents, so she's full Aussie
she's not polish-BORN. Her Grandfather is Polish, but Sam wasn't even born in Poland, she was born in Brisbane
why do i get the feeling that the crowd doesn't cheer much for vika? lol.
You learned how to give copy-paste, I see hahaha
Her grandpa is polish
Shame on you for judging a girl on who she prefers to date. Its actually none of your business.
why cant sam play like this all the time!
"The Polish-born Stosur lost this time". Stosur was born in Brisbane, Queensland......#FAIL
Don't worry I can play this word game just as much as u, so watch out!! and just saying, generally when someone hates a person for their qualities, sexuality or beliefs the person usually hates them as it exists in the hater so...........
Yeah, I think she defended her title... LOL
i like stosur but she is wasting too much energy on trying to retrieve everything...
Arthur Yagami yea ok
Why are you offending me? :(
watch another amazing match between these two :) watch?v=sTEMkSfiRzM
i didnt realize this but azarenka has a shitty serve. her serves are usually all under 100. like wtf?!
I have nothing to hate but to amuse myself when seeing this clown and her or his desperate fans
Stosur, does your mother know she gave birth to a lesbian? Poor her!
Your mother peasant
Hahaha blablabla
she is in the top 10 lol dum at a young age
how is stosur not a man, there's absolutely nothing feminine about her ...no hips or breasts or ass ... :((
haha try harder
not really amazing.
