    H.R. Giger once worked with Alejandro Jodorowsky and Dan O'Bannon on a movie adaptation of Dune. The movie was never made, but Giger and O'Bannon later reunited for Alien. The story of the unmade Dune movie is told in the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune.

  • @MaskedRiderChris
    @MaskedRiderChris ปีที่แล้ว +5

    If it's a tongue designed by H.R. Giger? Trust me, it can go through anything it wants to! Fun fact: the extra set of teeth in a Xenomorph's mouth is indeed its tongue! Oh, and Giger had legendary issues with Ridley Scott working on "Alien" back in the day, along the lines of "I AM AN ARTIST, THESE HOLLYWOOD TYPES DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT I CANNOT RUSH MY ART!" *in thick German accent* This was a weird movie in the best way, with all the high caliber actors in it doing the best with the premise they were given, and both Natasha Henstridge and Marg Helgenberger were HAWT.

    • @MathiasEggimann

      I can't stand Marg Helgenbergers hair in this, reminds me of an boss i once had.

      Rest in peace Giger.

    I received a making-of Species album as a gift from a filmmaker friend back when I was a weelad. Giger's designs had a deep effect on me as one could imagine, to the point I had way too many expectations when watching the film. It is an okay flick, but I can't help but share Giger's disappointment over the whole thing, and the A-list cast doesn't really help elevate it. The ghost train dream sequence was almost entirely cut but Giger, who worked his ass off on the prop train, convinced the producers to keep it and even put some of his own money in it! That beautiful biomechanical train can be seen at Giger's museum in Gruyères, my home away from home.

    I remember Natasha Henstridge being ready to break out after this... then she did the sequel and was the romantic lead in a Van Damme movie... which apparently ended at "HIOS".
    After this, you can go do Mimic for more "Oscar Winners and Goo Monsters" action.

    I liked this one when it came out, still do. Thanks again for rehashing classic flicks. Id be interested no matter what you put on, but id find Evil Dead Rise particularly interesting.

    'tentacles and witches'. As soon as I saw the tentacles start to form I was hoping for that kind of reference. The Geek delivers yet again.

    Natasha Henstridge is absolutely phenomenal in this movie. I don’t understand how she didn’t win the Oscar. I don’t even know why they give them out, how badly she got robbed. So enormously talented!!!

    I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid. It's on my list of movies to watch, but I haven't got to yet. I'm still in the 80s movie section of my list.

    I see S.C.A.T. was called in to locate Sil. I was waiting for a Sewer Shark reference later on...
