Let's all take a moment to appreciate the dedication Chris has to this channel. He works long hours & still takes the time to record & edit what we all enjoy watching.
Yeah it amazes me that he doesn’t get burned out considering he even works when he’s sick and still puts out a video. He’s definitely the master at whatever job he tackles. 💪
I was just gonna comment on this. It has been a minute since we have seen the busted up matts out and used. That familiar "plop plop" of the mud reminded me.
Easy wishing this side of the lense, but long reach is getting rusty and mats should be rescue ready for the broad range capable Industry at moments notice.
That's looking really nice, Chris. You did make me laugh a lot with the mud splash on the windshield. I had been thinking "It's a good thing you had the window down" when you decided to wash the mud off and had the water 'leak'. Thanks for sharing this, for the smiles, for a great start to the New Year. Thanks for being here, Chris.
I've been watching for about a year and a half now. I am 65, brother and nephew in this business for many years and I have been around it most of my life. I am really impressed with your work ethic and your skills, Chris. There are guys who can "run " a machine (me) guys who are "good with it" (most who use them get there after 5-6 years) and guys like you. You don't operate that 220, you put it on. It is an extension of you. Guys like you are rare...and getting rarer.
It’s going to look like a brand new pond when you’re finished Chris! Yeah the land owner definitely doesn’t need to run any equipment across the barrow pit area for a long time!
I have really started to notice the difference between the 220 and 330 on this pond. I was use to the 330 loading the haul truck and the 220 seems to take forever now. lol
Love a pond clean out. And the restoration of the borrow pit. All that mud, will the pit be safety fenced? As a kid we farmed near a sand mine, the dams for the clay wash were high fenced, warning signs, the lot, drownings were a real fear.
Loved that mud splatter on the windscreen part. I was glad I wasn't sipping some hot coffee listening to Chris's reaction. Chris has an awesome attitude when things like that happen. Most guys would have been cussin' up a storm about that windshield being left unlatched. Not Chris, he just shrugged it off and went in with the job a little wet. Pond is really looking way better.
Thank you Chris for all your hard work not only on your jobs but also for the content of your channel, all your hard work is very much appreicated. The pond is looking a lot better now.
Good call giving those of us who were thinking, Wonder how much splash when he dumps that? I bam you show us! Great stuff! Big fan 5 years and counting, thanks for your dedication to TH-cam and to your fans, quite the commitment and love the content. Love from St. Paul,Minnesota 🇺🇸
Worked Road Construction in Northern Indiana years ago... Highway coming up to an approach over a river for a new Bridge... State inspector came by just as a Cat 613 scraper was bringing in a new load for the approach... Inspector saw the ground "Pump" under his wheels, and made us remove all the fill in that location and replace it... Wasn't happy!!! LoL... With this said...Once you cover it... will that mud in the barrow pit ever fully dry??? I heard you say it's going to be a nasty spot for awhile... but I'm thinking that "awhile" will be years!!! Keep up the great work... we'll keep watching you!!!
Man I want a video if the farmer drives over that borrow pit with the combine 😂. Ah the relaxing videos of dredging! Worked on a john deere 470G today and thought about LetsDig18! But Chris wouldn't have destroyed the bucket cylinder like this one smashing into trench boxes. Always can tell a good operator from a bad one!
I absolutely love Chris's channel i can't wait until he hit one million subscribers chris you are one talented man your parents gotta be proud of you stay safe out there and please keep us with video's God bless you all
Yeah! Haven't heard that muddy plop sound in a while. I always enjoy watching you work with the sloppy mud because it always gives me new ideas to try when digging out the expansions to my lake. Plop....plop......plop.... Tip: make a 'tailgate' with drier mud/dirt to hold back the liquidy stuff from spilling out Tip: don't overfill the dump truck with wet mud as it's a billion times heavier than the dry stuff Tip: Always keep your windshield closed when working with wet mud (hah! I knew that one)
What a mixture of digging in dirt & mud yet Chris gets stressed by mud splashing on the windscreen; yet with a coordinated swish of the grading bucket he splashes the windscreen. BUT he complains when he gets wet. Really fun to watch this part.
Like the pond work videos! I only have to deal with a lagoon/poop pond on my property and you really only have 3 options. A sickle bar attachment. An excavator with a mulching attachment or poison. Mine gets "kill all" 3 times a year and I zip around it on my ZTR. I have enormous evergreen bushes around the pond so you can't see it, but it still needs mowed on the pond side. I guess one other option is a weed whacker and I don't have time for that!
Happy New Year Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with the world. Not only are you one helluva operator, but you're a gem of a human in my book.
Chris, just wanted to say that my uncle gave a tip about the tailgate conundrum. He had an underhung tailgate on his A25 and A35. They're available as aftermarket products, so there might be possible to find them for sale. A friend of his with good skill in fixing and modifying work machines, built one from an original bedrock tailgate for his own A25. My uncle is not sure if his friend saved money but he got ahold of one faster.
What I find amusing is the transformation from the start in 2007 with short silent vids to longer vids where he's fighting a backwards long reach skimming a pond cussing like a sailor to the long talk educational vids that we all enjoy now !😁
I like your work and the method of how you build these ponds. Why don't you use 4-5" clean limestone on the banks with erosion mat under it? I know it cost more..but your doing some high end pond jobs. When i see you dredging these ponds...makes me think large stone on banks would be so much better in my opinion.
It strange to think that some people think that people who do work like this is not smart. I would love to see one of them come out and develop a plan of action, and make it look like they said it would be, while dealing with figuring out where and how to get what materials you will need or take away.
Oh Yeah Man !! Got it looking really good Chris !! At least ya only got yourself once with the mud !! lololol... And kept it pretty damn clean too, to be hauling all that slop !! lolol... Better Flag that borrow pit for the owner, for damn sure don't need anyone driving off into that mess !! lolol.... Would be a Bad Day !! lolol... You sure make it look good with the smooth bucket, those edges look nice !! Great as always, Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Hey Chris, any body than can make running an excavator as easy as you do and I watch a fair amount of operators, you rank as one of the best. Practice really does makes perfect.
Happy new year chris looking forward for what you have installed for us this year we know you call them ponds but here we call the big guns lakes like the last 1 you done with the island that was epic love the idea of little beaches on them where his john these days have you stopped working together now hope he his well
23:12 - and this is why we can't have nice things....lol. Just trimming up the edges and a little bit of dredging made a pretty big difference in this pond's appearance. Looks good.
Just curious how long the back-filled borrow pit will take to dry out? It seems that it's going to be like quicksand, or at least very soft, for a long time???
It would be nice to have a tailgate on that truck now similar to what your uncle has. But with all the different types of jobs that you do, it looks like it’d be a real pain in the ass to take that thing off.
You got my votes, and takes time to even respond. Chris is A class.
Going to kiss his feet? 😊
@@CCscottBefore or after he dips his feet in the yummy mud being dumped in the borrower pit 😁
@@CCscott haha
Been a while since we’ve seen a dredging job. Miss seeing Chris manage the mats once in a while.
I was just gonna comment on this. It has been a minute since we have seen the busted up matts out and used. That familiar "plop plop" of the mud reminded me.
I wonder if he still has the long reach excavator
Easy wishing this side of the lense, but long reach is getting rusty and mats should be rescue ready for the broad range capable Industry at moments notice.
@iandavison74 Don't think he ever had one. Thought he rented one for a dredge job though.
@@iandavison74 his uncle was the one who had the long reach.

Good to see you dredging a pond!! Take us back to the years past!! Like old times!!
I admired his dedication, skill and perseverance in starting the project.
I was just thinking about how clean you had been able to keep your windows and then splat! Your response was great

👍🏼 😂😂😂 watching you at the beginning reminded me of the song: "Slip Slidin' Away" a 1977 song written and recorded by Paul Simon 👍🏼
Haven't seen Chris play in the mud for a while, everything's been just dig, dig, dig. Happy New year Mr. LD18 & the best of 2024, cheers.
Chris you do outstanding work, job well done. The pond will look great when all of the edges have grass on them again.
When you finish Chris this will be a new pond. Really looks nice.
Alright! A good ol pond dredging. What a great way to start off the year. I was kinda missing these. Looks great Chris. Thanks for sharing.

Man, that's a slick job of pond-edging there.
Love a pond clean out. And the restoration of the borrow pit. All that mud, will the pit be safety fenced?

I am glad that someone cares about this pond.

For as dry as it’s been there this summer and the recent jobs you’ve been working it’s nice to see you playing in the mud again Chris. 😉
Какой красивый труд! Здоровья и удачи.
Messin with mud just reminds me of days when IBS is being difficult for me

You'll be able to drive over it by summertime
That borrow pit will make an excellent garden site for the next ten years or more.
I would be putting a fence round it and planting veggies in there 🥔🥕🍈🥒🥬🍓

The excavator bucket is really just an extension of his hand. It's incredible how smoothly he operates. Thanks for the video.
Glad to see you using the older 220. Still an awesome machine!!!
What a mixture of digging in dirt & mud yet Chris gets stressed by mud splashing on the windscreen; yet with a coordinated swish of the grading bucket he splashes the windscreen. BUT he complains when he gets wet. Really fun to watch this part.
That was great watching the overgrowth disappear into the pit. It makes the pond edge look so much better!
Looks really good great job great video thanks Chris and Robert
Awesome job around the pond!
Thanks for the video Chris and watch for the slaters on the window .
Nice spot for a Pond garden 😀 ❤ Let's Dig 18!! Thanks again for sharing 😊 Happy new year 🎉 😀 😊
Sure did help that pond a bunch !!
Nice job to have to fil in,good work.
Seeing your 220 volvo siding towards the pond was a pucker moment.
I just love watching you work, thanks Chris

Yep, same to you. Happy New year! Chris, yeah that pawn's turning up real nice. A lot of mud till that hole up. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Chris you may have a little mud on your window but your machine is still cleaner than Dirt perfects
Thanks for the video, I usually learn something and always enjoy watching!
Happy New Year Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with the world. Not only are you one helluva operator, but you're a gem of a human in my book.
Love the way u cater to our childish whims 😂😂😂 lovely splashes ♥️💕
That was so funny. Good thing you didn't have that window up. With that Mud splatter 😂😂😂

Nice and tidy now Chris....stay safe
Bucko is pushing the haul truck! One man band
The videos I miss are the beaver dam videos where Chris walks the excavator out into the swamp with mats and takes out beaver dams
I think he switched sides .
He's been working with and for the beavers lately .
Those were the fun days
So skilled plant operator love watching Chris ole happy new year late evening uk 🇬🇧
You just knew that Chris couldn't stay out of the mud much longer. I sure enjoy watching your channel. Thanks

So clean and neat. Looks so nice❤❤❤❤❤
That pond is looking lot bigger
Now that you getting it clean up a bit
Another good watch Chris. Looks like a tailgate would have come in handy for this job.

Good video. Thanks for the show!
Happy New Year. Stay safe and God bless.

Cleaned up real nice! Now it's not just an old farm pond.
Happy new year Chris.
Thanks for the muddy entertainment, great start😂👍
I hope you have a great new year and prosperous one as well. Hi from NYC.
Job well done 👍🏻
Happy New year and may it be a prosperous one
Nice job.. Chris I can see someone pull up to that pit with a 4x4 and not be able to resist trying to make it to the other side lol
Nice job.looks great
I heard a good number of meadow muffins being made. We haven't heard that in a long time. Happy New Year Chris!
Hey Chris, any body than can make running an excavator as easy as you do and I watch a fair amount of operators, you rank as one of the best. Practice really does makes perfect.
Happy New Year Chris
Hi Chris this pond is looking great and barny and volvoetta the excavator needs a huge bath after this awesome job
Happy new year chris looking forward for what you have installed for us this year we know you call them ponds but here we call the big guns lakes like the last 1 you done with the island that was epic love the idea of little beaches on them where his john these days have you stopped working together now hope he his well

awesome work keep posting these videos.
Happy new years to you and your family!!
I miss seeing uncle John. Maybe you could do a day guest project with him.
You make it look so easy.
Nice to see some good sloppy pond dredging! :)
Good job!
Nice work👌😎
23:12 - and this is why we can't have nice things....lol.
Just trimming up the edges and a little bit of dredging made a pretty big difference in this pond's appearance. Looks good.
Just curious how long the back-filled borrow pit will take to dry out? It seems that it's going to be like quicksand, or at least very soft, for a long time???
Be able to drive on it by summer
It would be nice to have a tailgate on that truck now similar to what your uncle has. But with all the different types of jobs that you do, it looks like it’d be a real pain in the ass to take that thing off.
Chris do you have to worry about somebody walking across the borrow pit when you have it filled with all that mud?
Private property, let nature take its course with trespassers.
That would be dumb, but it happens. :)
I mean you'd sink to your knees and stop if you even made it that far
That's some fun work there a. Looking good
Sure makes a tidy job that bucket bro. Safe travels. Ken.
Happy new years to you and your family
Looking good, funny mud in your face .just the way you said it😅
