Love the way you describe when you are pressing and releasing for us new riders to understand that more clearly. A lot of horsemanship videos don’t explain when they are pressing and releasing to accomplish your movement with your horse. Great video Sir, thank you.
3:16 Explains the Release Every Time before the next ASK...(even if the next Ask is almost immediately). So important! Rollback... Stop, release, barely rock back, release...outside foot/turn your head (which turns your body) release...etc etc. Treat everything Between Releases as almost a brand new exercise, and things get simple and supple very quickly. I taught a tall full grown man who knew NOTHING about horses this methodology. 30 days after the 1st day he had ever swung his leg over a horse (granted he was physically fit to begin with) he was already better than people who had been riding for many many years. He had no bad habits to start with, and with the "Do 'A'.. Release" "Do 'B'...Release" method he appeared to be light years ahead of other riders...and his horse was a tad difficult as well. I am very proud of him.
Amen brother, speak the truth, I agree totally with taking everything slow and calm and I have seen people take their young horses to a branding and ruin their horse, never once exposed them to cattle before going in an arena while it’s controlled and calm, it’s very sad to see what happens to them mentally, thanks for your advice and videos!!
