- Here i show the swr on my old RS meter that still works! My Gainmaster had a swr of 2 plus and getting close to 3. I was very hesitant to use my cb for like 4 yrs. Today i spoke to Texas! The needle barely moved when checking swr on 40 and 1. This makes me very happy!. This Cobra 148GTL is very old, maybe 35yrs old. It still works great. The Lafayette SSB 140 is from Ebay , bought as a replacement for my old 140 from the 80's that died and i tried to fix it myself with no luck. I use it for parts now.

I was thinking of putting the same arial around 40' I'm On good hight as it is waiting for the weather here in Ireland to get some what better and hopefully this the sirio up and working 👍👍
That's a good height. I also had to wait for better weather here in NY. It's early spring and the weather is wet and cold with a wind that takes the heat out of your body. Good luck with your install , I think the Sirio 827 is a good aluminum antenna. I have the 5/8 Gainmaster that has a high swr now after being up for many years. I did not want another fiberglass antenna. Take note of the SS self tapping screws I use, I think it's important to use them and not the screws Sirio has in the hardware bag. I used my drill set to screws and a loose clutch so I didn't strip the holes. Also red thread lock on the threads prior to driving them in.
What length did you set the top at buddy to get that swr reading 😮
😊on install video 4 ,I wrote in the description that I had set the tip at 15 3/4 inches or about 400mm. Good luck bud.😊

What height do o ha a the arial from ground plains down and what would u recommend hight wise ???
I'll take a measurement ASAP for ya. Height I recommend is the highest you can go safely and feel comfortable at.😊
Ok I finally got outside. The height to the radials to the drain gutter is about 57 inches or 145cm. Height to ground is about 14 feet or 426cm.
