I saw him live in Antwerp, no band, just David. There were people watching who didn't knew him before and they where stunned. You can't listen Wovenhand without getting into another state of mind. Once you understand, there is no going back to you're previous live.
I"m not much of a Woven Hand fan.. But I"m opening up my mind to it.. And honestly, as long as David is still spreading his word.. It's beautiful.. You just have to open up and listen; It's hard to pull away from 16...
Then Job answered the LORD and said: "Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, but I will proceed no further." Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: "Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be in the right? The Book of Job 40:3-8
@zackersquackers Wtf dude? Did ya ever listen to any 16 Horsepower Album? What he does with his voice is simply amazing. You might not like his sound or timbre but that's something totally different of having no technical capabilities!
I love this video and the strawfoot one! Kudos to David for having these recorded and put up! Simple and beautiful. I am wondering if these videos were shot on a Nikon D90.
This is a long shot, but here goes: does anyone know what the percussion instrument is? Closest I could find is a bodhran... any help would be appreciated! On-topic: amazing song! Never heard anything from Wovenhand before (got here through the video of "Straw Foot" - love 16HP), but I'll definitly check out some other stuff from them.
Frederic Petteloot Looks and sounds a lot like a bodhran (if you don't play it in the "conventional" way), I have a handmade one from ireland (that I bought crazy cheap second-hand) and it sounds a lot like this drum. I know there are some MEINL Hand Drums with synthetic material that sounds similar aswell, probably cheaper than getting a real bodhran with animal skin etc.
Frederic Petteloot You're welcome! My guess is that there's a lot of drums like this from many different cultures with different names (since it's such a basic drum-design), but you can probably get the sound you want with a big bodhran! :)
@christianjjj HAHAHA..please...without DEE there IS no woven hand...you need to go to a live performance, you'd never make another comment about him "holding back" he sings like he's possessed
@christianjjj I couldn't agree more. The man is stiff and pretentious like a thespian from Victorian times. Haha, he also sounds like the singer from Men Without Hats. Safety Dance ftw! Get a new singer... with SOUL!

The fact that they are playing this acoustic, live, flawlessly behind a barn is a testament to their talent.
It was more like a small shed, in south Seattle. Give Mark all the credit for making it look so cool.
Awesome! Woven Hand is one of the best!
I don't know why, but the way DEE is spitting as he sings adds a weird quality of passion to his performance.
Outstanding band.Just love their stuff.

Sounds perfect!
Thanks!
Beautiful!!
this man is a machine.

Great!
Love D. D. ♥♫♫♫♥
I love to watch his feet when he really gets into it.
Absurd to question His creations.
Indeed.

Yo this mo fos spittin!!!
@zackersquackers
did you wat him to sing like Brittney Spears?
Eugine has no better voice in the 'dead country' music style
@christianjjj HAHAHA..please...without DEE there IS no woven hand...you need to go to a live performance, you'd never make another comment about him "holding back" he sings like he's possessed
Oh, was I ever off. It was just the weird.. distortion you get when you go side to side that gave me that thought.
@zackersquackers nice troll-roll
@evilcraft It seems to be something like f C G G Eb...the tune of the song is Fm in fact he plays a F(m)7th chord most of the time...
f4 C3 G3 C4 Eb4
anatrixiasa....😰
Is this a part of an entire unplugged or what?
Two unplugged songs recorded this day - "Kingdom of Ice" and "Straw Foot".
Straw Foot is a cool song.
Did you Oh Man???
is he rabid? perhaps filled with the passion of the Lord?
Haha,, without the singer it wouldn´t be a band at all.
:-) No Edwards, no band...

You have a poor taste in music 😂
