young cubicmetre: "im never gonna need to know how to do this math in real life" math teacher: YOU WILL WHEN YOU NEED TO ESCAPE AN ESCAPE ROOM ON THE WAVETECH SERVER
I'm not even a fan of sipover's content style, I just genuinely excited to see this kind of minecraft warfare. The last one was so interesting with the bomber fleets that essentially mimicked an air war, it'll be really interesting to see that with ICBMs
Cool to see how you modeled it.. I was considering asking you in discord about how you arrived at the values in the spreadsheet, but my questions have now already been answered.
when you spoke about the powdered snow vs falling entities issue, my immediate thought was to dispense the snow for, like, a tick to stop the momentum, and then pulse the dispensers again to pick it back up
Orbital Strike Canon, Precision Nuke, Naval Warfare ... has anyone checked in on cubic? Are you okay cubic? 😂 "Keeping with the theme of missile wars" is not a sentence I thought I'd hear a MCYTer say this year but ... we got there in the end.
what a great video showcasing fast and furious problem solving and some great creativity. congrats on getting those fancy papers as well! looking forward to seeing what you come up with next, both in the block world and in the real world
Very cool concept! I was blown away every time you showed the data visuals. I would watch a whole video on how you model that. Also thank you for sharing the Wavetech Christmas. Looking forward to more inspiring content in 2024!
this is amazing! all you would really need for battle ship is a coordinate grid that would connect to a byte sized bus going to the screen but no, you decided to do it the cubicmetre way and it turned out ten times better.
Very nice design! One year ago I was looking for some concept to play with my friends, but I couldn't find any. Thats why I made a very simple one myself. The tile was like this(up to down): wooden pressure plate, block, air, sticky piston facing up, another sticky piston facing up, lamp, lever. To 'activate' a tile you had to activate the lever and once the plate was hit with an arrow, the piston extended and broke the plate meaning that the ship was hit.
49:00 So, uh, Cubic... alkali metals are in the first group (that means lithium, sodium, potassium, etc; together with hydrogen ig). Cadmium is in group 12 xd Also for the grid that's being hit ig you coud've made a line of blocks inbetween (seperate 5&6), but also do that on the perpendicular side (spread the vertical 5&6 as well, so essentially you get a cross in the middle)? Anyway, super cool minigame!!!
You should get in touch with the german wargear community! I'm a part of this community for 10 years now, and they build the craziest stuff! Imango joined our server once and even he was overwhelmed by the complexity of some of the TNT cannons!
uuu australia...that far away from here. there is lunchtime now. i like to watch minecraft-videos when i can learn something new about minecraft and give me some new ideas what i can do. (or try do to) Happy christmas and a good new 2024 from germany.
Awesome! I wonder how hard it would be to do the fire control calculations with redstone instead of a plugin. Probably too hard, the fact that a TNT cannon needs complex fire control is already amazing
Not really. The hoppercart timers are the best way to encode the tick precision timings meaning you would need to somehow translate each button into a specific item count and signal strength combination.
@@cubicmetre how dumb would it be to give every button its own 2 lecterns and hoppercart timers? I suppose there probably wouldn't be enough space for that many wires into the cannon. What about separate inputs for the X and Y target grid coordinates, either 2 rows of 10 buttons or 2 10-page lecterns?
Is it possible to make something like the orbital strike tnt cannon but to launch players anywhere in world instead? they would be able to survive the explosion and fall damage with totems of undying.
Do you think it would be possible to build something like the orbital strike cannon but for deploying enderpearls to remote statis chambers, that you could then select between with the binary wireless redstone protocol?
Talking to him in discord, he did this "manually" by using around 80 command blocks which would paste a value some distance away from him at the block he's looking at
I don't know if you will read this comment but I want to let you know that a farm to obtain the god particle is possible *in some servers* since purpur optimizations merge the particles into a single one before giving them to the player
I assume the Minecraft version is 1,17.x? If it can work after the latest update, I’d like to test if it works on bedrock, as I’m one of few who can do both. I will check it out the download tomorrow either way :) funny thing is, I always wanted to play battleship with my friends, but not in a 2d setup, so you are a lifesaver for me. Ty
LOL middle school is one of the easiest times of your life 🤣 you better learn to enjoy your childhood before you became an adult and reality absolutely steamrolls you
Is the mod necessary to run the cannon (by itself) on a server? Not sure if mod admin would allow? I'm trying to design a mini game using the cannon. Thanks 😁
I was thinking, the current enderpearl cannons are either very big or they are only in a straight line, and seeing the lazy chunks cannons I was thinking that if you manage to shoot an enderpearl and at the same time a TNT, you could change its direction in the air, right? This would be an orbital cannon, I passed the idea here because I don't have enough knowledge to do it, please have cubimetre read it!! No
Can you make a user interface with six chiseled bookshelves and make it so the books get shot back to the player as long as they stand in the right spot? I made my own without the automatic book thing and I didn't have space for one of the lines so it's has 29 inputs instead of 30 minus the 6 that are used to reset the shelf
This is incredible! The first redstone project I made was a giant battleships game, this was right after repeaters were added and I thought a repeater RS-NOR bank was as compact as redstone would get. Seeing all these strange mechanisms really makes me want to get back into it :) there's a lot to learn
I tried bumping up the volume of my voice however during the secret santa event I had been awake for 24hrs building the battleship minigame and so I was just very tired.
cubic is on a mission to recreate every military weapon of mass destruction out there
Very topical is it not
Let’s just be thankful he didn’t end up working for the military
Only that his weapons are arguably more effective than weapons we have.
He already did it
He's just creating Christmas presents in Minecraft
i feel so bad for the dude that made the escape room.
imagine how long they spent on it for it to just break.
What did you expect, the room was not working properly
I think he had to type in Caps. I'm not sure

Dude, why is a literal rocket scientist playing Minecraft LOL. I love your videos I just feel like you could put people on mars!!!
Probably does minecraft projects like this to pass time lol
Merry Christmas cubicmetre ❤️
Hope you had some good time with your family/friends :)
Great video, and best of luck in your future engineering pursuits!
Oh my god I had completely forgotten about Missile Wars, I remember watching so many videos of old Minecraft TH-camrs playing that game~
JKM’s command block captcha is the best tmc joke ever made xD
with this treasure i summon:
JOLLY WARFARE

right, i was thinking this same thing. maybe he missed it but i bet he had his reasons not to, i just cant imagine he couldnt have pulled it off
When you showed the graph I forgot you mentioned that you are now a qualified mechanical engineer and physicist.
I love this series
The cannon looks really cool.
If you’re not a programmer then you need to become one
Pretty sure he just graduated!!
he recently graduated in mechanical engineering, so he probably has some experience in that
why
When I asked if he has a github, I got the "huh?" sound effect in response. And we weren't even in vc

Engineer per chance? Man just pulled up MatLab
He literally says at the end "I now have papers qualifying me as an engineer" and the last video he said he graduated collage so yes.
The mod being able to save named positions is great.
Congrats on your Redstone Award, and your speech! Great build!

Congrats on graduating my guy, I’m currently in uni, so I know the struggle!
Nothing screams christmas more than weapons of mass destruction, trully magical!
I'm not a technical player by any means, but I love your videos. Keep it up!
The music gets a little loud compared to the speaking audio around the 12 minute mark. Love the video!
Thanks for your videos, cubicmetre!
Wholesome. I miss playing Minecraft on a server with regulars. Last time was in 2012.
This is the most normal video title in the history of cubicmetre.
Eyy good job on the degree!

I want to make my own program to calculate cannon settings for my own design can you help me?
would it be difficult to just wire a 10x10 grid of buttons for each target to the cannon instead of having to manually input the settings

you should make a concrete printer with the mechanics of the orbital strike canon

what is the music present at around 8:00? I skimmed through your music channel but didn't find this track. I like a lot of the songs you compose btw.
Regarding JKM's:
"You're a mean one, Mister Grinch"
I understood none of that but great build man
Can you launch concrete powder so it solidifies on a distant target?

Heh. Noice escape room.
Did you ever diagnose the problem with the key for the first room?
Oriol literally put the wrong item in the item filter. I had the correct key for his puzzle but it couldn't go into the filter.
why dont you put blocks behind the observers in the wires? genuinely curious
The super close tiles make me nervous thst the anvil will land on the vertical display but I will see
I've got a question. Why are you always using activator rales for your TNT Cannon Computer and this Battleship Game instead of the golden rails?
You should make the cannons look like battle ships!
your super shulker unloader from 1.19.4 doesnt work in 1.20+ did they change a mechanic to do with minecarts and lava filled cauldrons?
