I remember seeing Titans fans were not sorry to see Bowen go. It wasn't a good feeling because I remember Bills fans felt very similarly about Bobby Johnson, and we know how that worked out
Wink's D gave up 100 points the first 3 games of the season last year. 150 the first 5. It was easy to forget how bad the defense was when the opponents would score in a blink of an eye.
@@brianb7423 yeah you're right about that. I think for me it's more about the optics. At least Wink was aggressive and tried to come after the offense, and try to confuse the QB. That would've been effective against a rookie QB I'm sure. As opposed to just sitting back and letting them come to you. Much more enjoyable watching Wink's defense last year. To borrow a baseball analogy, Wink's defense felt more like going down swinging vs this which feels more like striking out looking
Great breakdown Bobby. The offense looked improved which we needed badly . Dabs eyes better be wide open this week with easy setups for Nabers. The key will be getting that timing down on the long bombs. Once DJ can unlock that timing this offense can take the next step. Oline was solid as well. The biggest improvement was DJ working inside the pocket instead of running into sacks. He moved side to side much better even with pressure up close. It's only a matter of time until Nabers has a giant orbit around him and our TE's & Slay can start eating. Our defense well ...... We were freaking out all summer about our secondary and they've actually been solid despite the youth factor. The front needs to man up and show us something next game. We just got shown up by Bobby Johnson ffs. I better see Watson smothered all game like he's been the first 2 weeks.
Bobby, These segments are great to watch with your explanation of coverages. I didn't realize how bad DJ is on anticipating receivers coming open. He only throws when he sees an open man. Anyway great job as always!
Hey Bobby, great vid as always. Have to take exception to the comments on the sail play at 17.10 you said there was 2x double teams and the tackles singled up. But the RG comes off his double to help the RT, which breaks the protection on the LDT who if DJ had tried to go deep to Slayton would have got the sack. Taking 2 steps up drags the safety spy into the play, so that wouldn't work either. A quibble, ho hum. A marked improvement on last week. Maybe because it's the Commanders, but DJ looked mostly comfortable, was making, if not great decisions then ones we could understand, and the running game was chugging along. Love the breakdown, now I've got another treat ahead, the OL report. Thanks for the work Bobby, its appreciated.
I really just stop watching the Giants. Plenty of better games to watch. I'm still curious to see how certain players perform and/or develop but I can get that information here better than watching the game.
On a couple of the deep routes, Nabers and Slayton took similar routes along the sidelines. Midfield was wide open. I'd like to see one of Nabers, Slayton, (or Hyatt) break to the middle on a post or sharp 90. Wide open 25 yards into the secondary.
Off topic - but with the new kicking rules, Giants should consider carrying two kickers: one for kickoffs capable of making a tackle, and one for field goals and PATs while reasonably staying out of harms way. Give the extra kicker an actual useful role. Not for nothing, but in the past ten games or so we've lost two (three?) games due to an injured kicker.
Worst part about the first deep throw miss is if you look at where the WRs are, Slayton was further downfield than Nabers lol. Maybe DJ is used to slaytons trackstar speed
Makes Absolutely no sense for the corners to be playing so far back. Especially on the plays ▶️ going 4 short yardage for a first down marker. Ridiculous
28:08 - Robinson run play. McFadden does not either have the knowledge or vision to know that is a run play and does not step forward but instead starts to back up. A good to great middle linebacker would see it and attack a second before and shut this down. He reacts to the play instead of anticipating and having good vision.
@25:57 Even in a broken 2 point conversion, (which bobby wagner played perfectly) Daniel Jones had an opportunity to throw and score a TD to Tracy. On top of not being a good processor - he's also very robotic, he has no gamesmanship
Comeback game against the rub-n-tug Brownies, let's go! Oline looks good. Offense is less offensive, average which we will all take. Defense needs better scheme, better tackling, and a fire to be lit under bowens ass. Wonder how much of playcalling duties is distracting daboll away from contributing towards defense in-game adjustments as well as game plan
Secondary is wayyy too loose in zone coverage. Bowen needs to tighten that up & draw from some Red Zone principles. On Robinson's 40 yard run, Kayvon and Flott look like they got thrown out of a bar.
Don't think they trust the DBs to not gibe up big plays, and would rather challenge the offense to sustain long 12+ play drives. And tbf they only gave up 21 points lol that should be good enough to win more often than not in this league. But of course we have had on offense chronically allergic to scoring 30+ for 6 years.
shane bowen is not a good coordinator. plays basic coverages n expects ur front 4 to get pressure every down. terrible hire by joe schoen he will be fired before season’s end.
The fact that this is your victory lap game... sure says a lot about Jones, and not at all what you think 🤣🤣 You have some embarrassing standards. I wouldn't wanna see the women you choose to date 😱
@@wrongsnowboard4356well the film on Daniel was pitiful. They're treating him like a rookie QB 🤣 Missed reads, and missed every single throw over 11 yards in the air 🤣 I could throw 5 yard dumpers to Malik Nabers and watch him run 18x "All he needs is a OLine and a #1 WR" Well now you have both, enjoy your 3 win season and writing a whole new book of excuses. Only reason you hate stats is because Staniels have been PATHETIC his entire career.
Giants some Bums Jayden Daniels moved the ball with ease, so that decision making you talking is false. Dumb penalties in the red zone (4 false starts) kept us from puttin up a 40 burger. Jayden is him. You’ll have a front row seat the next decade plus. And no one is trying to tackle B Rob, haha.
These segments are the best Bobby. I’ll sound like a broken record every week on this but truly love it man, thanks for all you do!!
They’re the best
Amen brutha
I miss Wink, I liked how he didnt sit back and let the offense dictate the game
One thing Wink and Bowen have in common is choking on long 3rd downs.

Eh. Winks defense had its problems. Terrible against the run, last year the fundamentals were trash and they were not good on 3rd down.

I totally forgot Bobby Johnson is the Commanders' OL coach now lmao
The videos take my football knowledge to another level.
love the video, bobby. it’s my favorite. much appreciated.
Top notch work Skinner!
It's like Bobby got frustrated all over again 😂😂😂😂
the "wooo weee" at the 7:10 minute mark LOL. Bobby got excited on that crunch pla

I love talkin giants, but this team makes it DIFFICULT to watch week to week
I wind up falling asleep at halftime. It’s become pathetic

@@Metalgarn fr I can’t with this team
@@andrewmamarella905 lol same, I ended up mowing my lawn mid game
Same story every year now. We are eliminated from the playoffs in September and it is pathetic. I just want this team to be at least watchable again.
This was great. I never played so I need this kind of stuff to better understand who blew their assignment

More Dru.
I think he'd be an excellent focus player to watch develop this year.
20:32 helps when the commanders have ineligible men downfield ready to lead block lol
I realllllly really wanna know what’s going on with Hyatt

Atleast Malik gives us something to look forward to watching this year. And DJ played better than either backup would have.
The more you know about football the more fun the sport is
Dru Phillips impressed me BUT tonight he was gonna be run stopper
Playing 10 yards off on 3rd and short is the Bowen special. Drives me nuts

Wash OL was getting away with alot of holding.
36:00 - looks like some sort of blitz variation of stubbie that they ran earlier in the game and someone missed an assignment.
Match defenders on the trips side got confused by the motion and no one accounted for the back
Great video
Flott and Nacho shouldn’t be starting. Time to get Hyatt some more reps over Slayton too.

The full back is not obsolete 🤝
That weird one towards the end looked like banks messing up to me. Especially considering he just seemed to mentally not be fully locked in
What if dj threw to nabers on that 2pt when he fell and caught it 😂
Simmons re routed that guy right into the dirt. Lol

I thought working with Coach Patterson now that the Wink crew is gone would fix Thibs’ football IQ/pad level issues etc vs the run.

Unbelievable that our defense played so far back and passively, and let a rookie QB get so many easy looks.

that holding call on Nubin (i think) was bogus..and that hit on Nabers almost targeting!!!!

@@michaelmeenan5522 You right I got confirmation with the first call💯
How many offense plays we had
Who got burned at 12:15? Is that Adoree or Flott?
Patrick graham 2..0. How many times have we complained about how the backs would play way off the line on 3 and short. It just makes no sense at all
Jones did good against a team that would be third string on any other team. Good job Danny boy.
End good video
3 deep on 3rd and 1.... tells me all I need to know about this coach and the state of the giants until he's removed.
The Commanders defense stinks... Playing man against Brians offense is just malpractice
feel like we’re right back to the patrick graham defense
Except horrible lol
Graham d got stops though lol
Titans D looks good. Just saying

31:51 damn Flott WTF are you doing? Would rather them play Tre Hawkins honestly at least he can Tackle or maybe keep Flott on the outside
It's been too easy for the second week in a row !!!!
Worst DC in league
don't forget too that the Commanders had 3 or 4 penalties for false starts on them in the redzone.
40:45 no they will not😂😂
you giants people keep sleeping on Jayden - he is going to be your worst nitemare
He’s bad deep cause he’s horrible in the pocket. Too big of movements, moves past the sweet spot in the pocket way too often
This team sucks
Ut oh...what happened to all the DJ hate and benching him talk? Looks like somebody's getting more comfortable back there. My boy!
The Commanders lost nine in a row and Jones had only 175 yards throwing and it wasn’t enough.
