Guys if you like these videos, make sure to hit that like and subscribe button and drop a comment below! Its the best way to support the work I do here and is much appreciated!
I'd love to see a comparison to Laowa 25mm
Good work Stefan, those shots were awesome! Especially the bee one, crazy!
Had the Canon MPE 65mm Macro lens once. It was the most frustrating lens I ever used. These super macro lenses take a level of patience I do not have so I stuck with my 1:1 with some extension tubes.
Patience is key! Composition and lighting are also very difficult with extreme magnifications.
This would be perfect for me as im just starting out in macro it will help me get rhe fundamentals down without blowing my bank
The price it right to jump in!
If I was into macro it would be a great choice at a great price but not for me. Thanks for the info 😀😀
Thank you for this video. You are the only person I have seen mentioned the Laowo 25mm, much appreciated I was wounding if I made a good choice going to the Laowo. I watched about 5 other videos you are the only person to show photos from both Lens. Subscribe Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video! But I hate it when camera youtubers suddenly show a bunch of macro pictures of insects 😅 I’ve got phobia unfortunately….
Fair enough but they are probably the best macro subjects I'm afraid.
Wow, amazing clicks bro...Good lens
Laowa is justifiably not happy to see their lens copied. I'd feel more charitable towards AstrHori if they had innovated *in any way* on this lens (beyond simply making s mount directly compatible with mirrorless bodies).
Believe it or not, the fact it starts a 2x rather than 2.5x is a big difference. Competition is always good.
If the difference between 2x and 2.5x results from a different flange distance (resulting from the change from DSLR to mirrorless camera bodies), then it's not really a technical change in lens design. Agreed however that in practical terms the difference between 2x and 2.5x matters to photographers using the lenses.
The new lens has a very different optical formula than the Laowa lens.
@@loujost If that's the case, then good for AstrHori. Laowa feels differently.
Hi, I like your video, you explain it very well so I like it and I subscribed.
I have a question i is it worth this lens AstrH0ri 25mm or better to go straight to the Laowa 25mm?
Apart from the fact that one starts at 2x and the other at 2.5x and the price difference is double, is it worth going for the Laowa or sticking with the AstrH0ri?
I have done macro photography but not extreme, so I will start in extreme macro with this lens, but I have doubts about which lens of the two.
Although I like that the Astrhoi starts with 2x instead of 2.5x and as it is half the price of the Laowa, I would invest that money in an electronic rail, I have a mechanical rail but I didn't know about the one you show.
Thank you.
Depends on your budget and wants. Starting at 2x instead of 2.5 does make the Astrhori more versatile. The Laowa is going to perform a bit better but if you are a good editor, you're splitting hairs. If you're serious about extreme macro an electric rail is a must. Check out my Wemacro review. Cheers
Looking to buy the lends for close up video like what Object TH-cam channel post, would it be a good fit for the job?
Thanks!
Appreciate that!
So the focus point can't be changed from the lens ? no focus ring ?
Correct. Its a set focus distance so normal photography is not an option with this lens.
Go test Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II
Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM
I have reviews of both.
Amazon says the discount code doesn't work sadly
Try now. Promo supposed to start on the 19th.
@@StefanMallochno luck yet but I'll try later tonight or tomorrow thanks!
X2
Would it make a good choice for digitizing negatives?
I don't think so. You would have to be very sure of the size at the minimum working distance. Its a very niche and specific lens.
The code of discount no working
Thanks. Ill let them know and see if I can get one.
