I played this in 2013 on XB360 and I bought it again this year 2022 for my XB1X. I love this game, I hope they make more or at least provide more DLC missions.
For those of you who think that Kevin Secoure is just being flashy for the game in his movements and combat, you are WRONG. I have been to his summer seminars in Montreal along with other instructors, and this is exactly how he moves and operates. Russian Systema is to be fluid and have good structure and posture in your movements and he is doing just that. He is one of the best.
Eastern Martial Arts are always so much more attractive than western ones, compare something like Krav Maga to Boxing or Jailhouse Rock, it's really a stark difference. Western Martial Arts styles seem to favor brute force when up close.
Cool knife. The kerambit was the choice of blade for a woman warrior. The Minangkabau tribe re-designed this farming tool from its short hook curved shape known as kuku macan (tiger claw) into a long curved kermabit blade called lawi ayam which means "chicken's tail feather". This kerambit is utilized in a stabbing, dragging and ripping movement, unlike the slicing and cutting through motion of the more common short blade kerambits that are endemic to Central Java and Madura, Indonesia
I have no problem with change buddy. I loved conviction and thought it was a fresh new take in the series. However, Michael Ironside was the soul of Splinter Cell; and that's something that is irreplaceable.
once i saw fisher was going to use a karambit, i went to my local martial arts studio and sgned up for karambit classes. deff one of the best choices i've made.
Your right when you say combat is not pretty, however Kevin Secours is my instructor and while there is choreography involved I can attest that all moves demonstrated choreographed or not are performed with perfect fluidity and technique by this man. All his moves demonstrated are very practical and deadly in the right circumstance.
It's a technique called Center Axis Relock which is used to keep the weapon as close to your body as possible to increase mobility when transitioning between targets and make target acquisition faster. If you had your arms fully extended, and your trying to aim at a second target after dealing with the first one, you may notice it's actually slower, not as comfortable and uses more of your body's energy. That's as simple as I can put it. If you want to know more, just look it up on Google.
been a splitercell dude since tbe beginning. love the series. loved the game play of this game! but my big complaint was the tweeking of the the legend that os Sam Fisher. they may him way more hot headed in this game then in games past. he was always a colder kind of pissed. except for conviction but that was part of the plot, that he was pissed and outta time. in Blacklist they made him to confrontational with his team members.
watching this changed my whole perception of the new sam fisher actor. I think this guy is pretty awesome. I just wish they could of used the other voice actor for just the voice.
This is the epitome of realism. conviction was a small step in the right direction implementing krav maga. but now karambit!? dear god this is beautiful. I hope this game lives up to the hype.
I still remember when Ubisoft used to be the king of video game fight choreography. Here's hoping they go back to their Blacklist and Assassin's Creed III/IV days in terms of their fight mocap ;~;.
Conviction was really fun. I enjoyed it quite heavily. This however, just makes little sense. It would make so much more sense that this would be a prequel, NOT a sequel, and that if they're doing a sequel, just get a new main character. By now, Sam's like almost 60. I'll probably get it, it just doesn't look like this game's main point is stealth. At least with Conviction, you can straight up stealth through 90% of the game. This looks really actiony.
I did Krav Maga for a year 5 days a week aswell as knife fighting(escrima) I missed out on playing conviction cause I only have a ps3. Now that blacklist is coming out on both systems I was thinking of buying it especially since they mentioned Krav Maga/Kali(escrima) but looking at this vid seems more like jujitsu
Zack, you are a trooper! I know how Kevin works: his demos are safe but very intense - those shots and restraints are real and painful even if not at full speed and power...my hat's off to ya! Kevin, your work, as always, is fantastic - what an honor to be one of your students!
If your a true splinter cell (stealth) fan then i would recommend hitman absolution. Its basically classic splinter cell gameplay with a dark hitman style. Sam Dam Fisher- XBOX LIVE
It is a video game so yes real humans would react differently, but watch the clip again and notice the precision of technique with the rolls as well as ground movement with or without a weapon. Like I said all moves demonstrated are highly technical and practical in the right circumstances and context. Visit Kevin's web page you will see a lot of his training techniques methods and philosophy. Ubisoft could not have chosen a better consultant/stuntman for role.
he is using the phillippine martial art kali.. but for me its not as fancy just the way he did for the game, our martial art is specially made for killing stealthy within seconds.
I don't mind it not being Ironside who voices Sam anymore. Not only because the game seems to be good anyway, I guess I just got over it. A few people seem not to though...
I still feel they should have kept krav maga as the go to CQC system of Splinter Cell. Some of the takedowns in this game, especially the fancy leg chokes, are way too flashy and inefficient in reality. Krav maga is the most brutal, quick and efficient combat system period. Still looks great though.
so they got some punk to be the voice in blacklist? if they wanted someone capable of motion capture why not just let this guy do voices as an actual badass?
Heath Anderson he wasn't some punk, he was an amazing actor, but they needed a tactical advisor. You need both, actors to deliver lines and make it believable, and advisors to make it realistic
They totally destroyed the credibility of sam Fischer by making him voiced by an entirely different person. Why not just make a new storyline without him if you are scrapping the voice actor from every previous game
Heath Anderson It's just a new VA, it's not the end of the world. And for new players to Splinter Cell (like myself) this guy sounded a lot more "Operator-like" compared to Ironside
for new players yes if you got into it with conviction like me it derailed the entire story and franchise. But if it was enjoyable for you good for you.
He is, Kevin is an instructor/NPC stunt guy. But yeah, they should totally use Kevin with Ironside's voiceover. I can't get used to the young Sam Fisher. Or maybe your character should be someone else, like Archer or Kestrel, and Sam Fisher (voiced by Ironside) would be the director of 4th echelon. There's no way a director can be the lead operator at the same time - makes no sense.
Who said that? That's something many fans think but not some fact. Yes it's always best to keep the same actors in a movie or game serie, but they changed actor for a good reason.
Actually you can lol. people can mimic what they see easily. What lion meant was the general idea, concept of breaking necks. That is quite an easy thing to do.
Blacklist is based on letting the player choose freely how he/she want to play. Also what many of you fans seems to forget is that this is a Tom Clancy's game. Every Tom Clancy's game is supposed to reflect the reality. Maybe Blacklist don't have the same stealth as Chaos Theory but what they do have in the game is more close to the reality than any of the previous games. Kevin is the man. He is actually a weapon.
For those of you who think that Kevin Secoure is just being flashy for the game in his movements and combat, you are WRONG. 5:38 OMG Briggs is real!
SeFu2006 that’s so cool
DUDE!! THAT AWESOME
What you doing here sefu
El Ichiranx Was researching haha
Ok. That was pretty cool. The game already looks sick, and to see what's behind the combat only sweetens the deal. Great video.
I Love it... This makes me want the game even more... So good to see Sam Fisher's moves are real from a real person. Great Work Kevin Secours
Such a superb game. Even in 2019 a 2013 game still holds up, and really well. Game looks and plays amazingly.
I have no problem with change buddy. I loved conviction and thought it was a fresh new take in the series. However, Michael Ironside was the soul of Splinter Cell; and that's something that is irreplaceable.
Someone's having a bad day. This video is great with impressive attention to detail. Great job, guys!
"The Sam Fisher that we wanted to create was..." not Sam Fisher.
This guy is the batman of our world
I wish there wasn't just one animation for when you shocked enemies lol.
When you shock a group it's funky seeing 5 people do the exact same movement.
Thank God I was always questioning why he holds his gun that way, good to know there's a purpose for it other than it looks cool or whatever.
Very impressive. Can't wait to play Blacklist and attempt to employ all of Sam Fisher's 90+ moves.
That guy is unreal.
once i saw fisher was going to use a karambit, i went to my local martial arts studio and sgned up for karambit classes. deff one of the best choices i've made.
At first I was skeptical of Blacklist, but now, I have high hopes in it. Can't wait to be stealthy again.
"Like a Glove" lol

That opening was awesome lol, didn't see that coming...then again guess I wasn't supposed to.
Finally the art of kali is being recognized. Silat is also bad ass. Picking this one up asap
'Yeah its super sharp on both sides lemme just rub it on you neck and wrists a little bit" LOL

1 word....brilliant

can't wait for the game! and i'm Indonesian, i'm proud one of Indonesian weapon are in this game!
love the karambit one of ma favorite kinives
This guy seriously need to do an AMA on reddit, he is a fucking ninja!
Conviction was really fun.
I enjoyed it quite heavily.

cant wait to play something a little more comparatively realistic. Looks awesome, real, fun and not exaggerated

He's developing the moves, and Johnson is actually doing them
Zack, you are a trooper! I know how Kevin works: his demos are safe but very intense - those shots and restraints are real and painful even if not at full speed and power...my hat's off to ya! Kevin, your work, as always, is fantastic - what an honor to be one of your students!

Sam Dam Fisher- XBOX LIVE
its a "training karambit" designed for motion capturing.
the knife sam has in the game looks like the hs-karambit
It is a video game so yes real humans would react differently, but watch the clip again and notice the precision of technique with the rolls as well as ground movement with or without a weapon. He’s mostly using Combat Systema and Japanese Ju-Jitsu.
Jeez, that guy Kevin is lethal.
I don't mind it not being Ironside who voices Sam anymore. Not only because the game seems to be good anyway, I guess I just got over it. A few people seem not to though...
WOW WOW WOW!!!! This is gonna be an incredible game!
I like playing this game it is so much fun
90+ takedown movements, that's nice~
Cant wait for this
Sam Fisher + Karambit = Super Natural Killing Machine
did you ever stop to think that he was just crouching behind him
This is Silat :-)
He is mostly trained in Systema. And he is awesome, check his other videos.
I want those cargo shorts!
I still feel they should have kept krav maga as the go to CQC system of Splinter Cell. Some of the takedowns in this game, especially the fancy leg chokes, are way too flashy and inefficient in reality. Krav maga is the most brutal, quick and efficient combat system period. Can you please let me know where can I get one of those black tshirts? Thanks....
More like 7 years ago lol. They had a trailer for the movie on the Chaos Theory game disc when it came out in 2005.
must find one of those shirts!
i would never mess with him
so they got some punk to be the voice in blacklist? if they wanted someone capable of motion capture why not just let this guy do voices as an actual badass?

yeah I prefer Michael Ironside as Sam Fishers voice and Martin Kessler (german voice actor)
the other one... no thanks...
I am still waiting for the movie, that was promised 4 years ago
Kevin Secour and Russian Systema rule =)
fuck! i freaked out so much when he strangled him at the beginning 0_0
really awesome!
i like the beginning
Kevin Secours kinda looks like Sam Fisher from Conviction :D
were can i find info on the multi player mode / vrs
Where can we find a t-shirt like this?!?
Where can i buy the splinter cell blacklist tshirt.
best looking... not best playing.
And I liked Conviction's graphics much more.
And, as i predicted, there is barely anyone complaining on most the videos i have seen.
yeah baby!
they wear those suits for motion capture. just like the suits they wore in James Cameron's Avatar.
wow that scared the shit out of me
If it beats chaos theory I am suprised but it looks good so far
He is, Kevin is an instructor/NPC stunt guy. But yeah, they should totally use Kevin with Ironside's voiceover. I can't get used to the young Sam Fisher. 1:37 is that coop I see?
Ironside is Sam.
People seem to be forgetting that.
I WANT THE T-SHIRT!
It will be based on what you want it to be, according to them
Who said that? That's something many fans think but not some fact. Yes it's always best to keep the same actors in a movie or game serie, but they changed actor for a good reason.
why does kevin have to act in the mocap sessions?
Agreed. Why isn't this guy Sam Fisher!?!?!
ola ubisoft ja zerei o jogo mas nao sei como começar em outra dificuldade o jogo e d mais
I want this T-shirt!!!
where can I find it???
Wonder if he regrets asking him to show him some moves
Oh god poor zach, I think he died well over 50 times xD
even more
This game will have very realistic combats!!!
Actually you can lol. people can mimic what they see easily. What lion meant was the general idea, concept of breaking necks. That is quite an easy thing to do.

im zack cooper and and welcome to jackass haha this is what it reminds me the opening of the video
yeaaaah me tooo!!! I want it!!!
If I could I would backhand Patrick Redding and Max Beland.
If you play too close to the railroad tracks
you're going to have a bad day.
Would have been funny if a cop passed bye at 0:20
systema, look it up... kevin secours has a nice style... I still like martin wheeler's style more though, and vladimir vasiliev
And you enjoyed watching it
2:01 Aggressive Cuddling.
Silat? I've seen what Silat warriors can do with karambits...
2:58 the guy in the back -- wTF is behind that box....?? o.O
Eric Johnsson do the stunts. This guy just train him.
They should have just put Kevin as Sam, if they were really going to change the actor.
