    I bought the TM22 Gen 1 when it came out thing has been reliable AF like 3k rounds through it

    Just picked one of these up, I love it! Would you happen to know where a guy could buy those magazine base plates, 3D printed or otherwise? The weird little mags this uses are honestly the only thing I don't like about the look.

    • @bats8888

      The file is available on Thingiverse for free. If you have a friend, ask them to 3d print it. If not, look locally to see if there are any 3d printed stores. Just take the file there.

      @@bats8888 I appreciate it! Either way, definitely inspired me to do something similar to get a better looking magazine. I almost wish they would have made them like that stock, it's just so small and curved it really takes away from the overall design. Thanks for the vid & reply

    Hi did you need to remove the base plate from you polymer 10 round mag to fit the 3D printed mag cover?

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes. The printed piece essentially becomes the new base plate (which is why it's necessary to let the super glue set for a while before use).

    Dope looking TM22.
    Only issue with this gun is the bolt stop/pad whatever its called... the rubber will, over time, get deformed and actually sink into the buffer tube.
    At 2k rounds, I took off the stock and added some material to stop the rubber from getting pushed inside.
    If you dont the bolt handle will smash up against the slot. Common issue with these.

    • @varinra
      @varinra 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The TM 22 Feather has a re-designed the bolt stop pad. The buffer tube has no contact with the pad at all. The pad in the Feather is a rectangular piece of rubber sitting at the end of the receiver which can be removed and replaced when needed. The design of the Feather is much updated with respect to its aluminum predecessor.

    Wondering where you got the magazine add-on / extension thing to make it look thicker and more "ar" like?

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's a 3d printed piece. If you just google "TM22 mag base print" you should find it.

    Is the hand guard compatible with other AR hand guards? Or at least a way to add a rail system to the one currently on it?

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not compatible with AR handguard. But the top and bottom of the handguard has mlok slots that you could put pic rail on.

    Did the fake can/linear comp make it easier on the ears for the shooter?

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This one was just a barrel sleeve, it had no muzzle effect at all.
      Linear comps will very slightly make it quite to you and anyone behind the muzzle, but it's very minimal, especially on 22lr

    You should check with a gunsmith about shortening and re threading the barrel. I got my 308 threaded for a break and it was only 30 bucks. I was shocked at how cheap it was.

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can't cut a barrel below 18", even if it's rimfire. Dlask makes a 10" TM22 barrel though

    • @wildnorthadventures
      @wildnorthadventures 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bats8888 I was always under the impression that if it’s rim fire it’s the oal that’s the main thing. Kinda why they sell that short barreled gsg with the pinned stock. But don’t quote me. I’m not 100%

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's for determining NR/R status. The cutting of barrels falls under a completely different section.
      The likely reason is to stop sawed off NR shotguns. Why they chose 18", idk.

    • @wildnorthadventures
      @wildnorthadventures 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bats8888 ah I see what you mean. I mis understood your last comment. That makes sense. So you’re not allowed to have your gunsmith shorten your barrel, re-crown and thread the muzzle?
      In my first comment I had my gunsmith do the threading and re-crown my 308 but there was no shortening the barrel. I just assumed it would be ok as long as you stayed over the min oal.

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @wildnorthadventures a gunsmith can do that, but only if the barrel stays over 18". Of you want a shorter barrel, you need a brand new barrel and swap it out.

      Do you mean it jams, or doesn't pick up a new round from the mag? Mine would only cycle Mini Mag and Aguila Super Extra, cheap bulk was single shot. I fixed it with a cheap generic ebay spring. I posted details on thefiringline forum semi auto rifle section. Search for "TM22 Feather failure to cycle fix".
