Casa Tropical by Jaque Studio is a thoughtfully designed home in Tulum, Mexico, that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. Built on a single level in an "L" shape, the house opens up to a central natural spring and lush jungle views. The design prioritizes natural light, cross ventilation, and the tropical environment, featuring private open-air patios for the bathrooms in each of the four bedrooms. The main hallway doubles as a large terrace, reminiscent of Mexican haciendas. The house is entirely self-sufficient, utilizing solar power, water filtration, and a wetland sewage system. Local materials like limestone, chukum, and wood are prominently used, with wood being celebrated for its sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The project preserves 77% of the property's original vegetation, blending harmoniously with the landscape and offering a serene, nature-connected living experience.
