It isn’t fair that only Bollywood personalities are made to opine on social and political issues while the same is not expected from anyone else, whether it is businessmen or sportspersons, actor Deepika Padukone said at ThePrint’s Off The Cuff Wednesday.

I really like how she thinks before speaking. It's evident how she genuinely gives the question a thought, and answers accordingly.
Deepika is beyond stunning and she is just human. For those who judge her it is unrealistic to expect perfection from someone who is just flesh and blood just like us.

Indians are not beautiful in the west. They just have the highest earning in North America out of every other race. Even more so than white people and especially other Asian countries. We also have the most positive statistic when it comes to parenting and education in the west.
Indians are also generally more accepted as compared to other immigrants like Mexicans, Chinese and Muslims. That's why Indians report the least racial discrimination in the US as compared to other Asians
But you can keep the beauty title for yourself. We don't need it apparently.
For someone like you who seems to have a giant western dick down his throat. You do have a weird resentment towards Indians and Deepika Padukone especially when the original comment doesn't have anything to do with the west or India in general. The guy just complimented one person and look at you with your generalisation of Indians. That's actually a very subcontinental thing to do so maybe learn the very western values you are trying to force upon others.

As a sign of humility, she named her mum as the megastar instead and said that her mum being selfless by putting other people before her made things work out fine. The title Mental Hai Kya was not stigmatising the Mental Health Patient rather it could have posed a question on the people who tend to pose this question on such persons !
The mental health patient generally becomes a suspect of every wrong doings as they are the easy targets which was shown in the movie also, if you could have noticed and on top of that they are given electric shocks also considering that they are the wrong doers while they necessarily don’t be that. Sad that you targeted other’s work! It was really a quick judgement @Deepika
When you have a mental health patient with you, you will really feel for them after watching the movie Judgemental Hai Kya, it’s horrible that they suffer due to their own family and friends due to being judged so quickly as the wrong doers !

I am not a hater. I like her for speaking out about mental health. I have suffered from depression so I appreciate that from her. That being said, she is not above legitimate criticism. Nobody is. I cannot respect any human being, actor or not, who on the one hand, claims she's speaking out about mental health to raise awareness about the subject while not extending that same awareness about public lynchings. She has millions of followers and nobody is asking her to debate on the subject. Just one sentence to show that she cared about her country descending into extremism. Just acknowledging that she empathizes with the people who've been brutally murdered. It's not much to ask from people who almost daily upload their pictures on instagram. It doesn't make you a politician or an activist. It makes you human. She refuses to speak because she has to maintain her contacts and I cannot respect such people no matter how poised and pretty they are.
You sound like a teenager with your childish 'if you criticize or disagree with my idol Deepika, you must be a hater' rhetoric. You need to grow up and understand that we don't owe our allegiance to celebrities. When they do something great, appreciate them. When they don't, criticize them. It's not absurd. If you think from the perspective of a person living with mental illness , you will get it. We tend to normalise the word "mental", buy it's not normal. It affects that person more. And at the end of the movie, what happens? Bobby was always considered crazy, she is also considered crazy at the end. There was no change. No one believed her. Where did they remove the stigma?

Deepika should've watched Judgemental hai Kya before making baseless statement against the film. Movie was all about a lonely problematic girl who has lost her parents at very early age. All the critics have praised not only lead stars performance they also praised the way it has dealt mental health issues. Responsible artist like Deepika shouldn't have made such statement without watching the movie.

Bollywood stars are put on this special kind of pedestal like they have so many accolades and achievements than anyone else in the country. They are self absorbed and always talk about themselves, never about the craft or the process. It's the incessant need to garner appreciation and validation. She is a average actor who cannot string proper sentences when she is asked a question non related to films. She comes across as rehersed, boring and has terrible communication skills. She needs to broaden her horizons and learn more about political/social issues. Bollywood stars are too scared to voice their opinions when it comes to human rights issues. It is pretty disappointing! It's not just Deepika. It's pretty much everyone who is too afraid to condemn the wrong! But then again call themselves humanist, and philanthropist and humanitarian.
