During Japanese conquest of East Indies they barely encounter any resistance when landing. IJN destroy the dutch navy pretty easily, their landings were smooth because of surprise attack and areal bormbardments. The Dutch colonial troops were quickly defeated battle after battle and keep retreating until they finally surrendered in just 3 months.
When Imperial Army started to invade East Indies, 4 or 5 Dutch submarines were stationed there. I wonder what happened to them. Did they attempt to stop Japanese advancement?
@@MrEjidorie It caused Japanese invade Dutch Indies through 2 route, that is South Sumatra and Kalimantan (Borneo). In the beginning, IJN Captured Palau and Philippines, and they are prepared for attacks Celebes and Kalimantan, and the second one through South East Asia, specifically Malaya peninsula. On 1 February They were captured Balikpapan, the city of oil center in Kalimantan, so they are captured all Netherlands oil facilities in Kalimantan which the biggest contribution for Netherlands and then Netherlands couldn't operate their submarime and battle Cruiser

Invade?? Yes, Japan invade dutch territory. But never fought a war against Indonesia ppl. Were IPJ good for Indonesian ppl? I don't know. It was just for 3 yrs since it advanced there and lost the war. At a time fierce battles against Europe countries, US and Australia were happening, it was too short to matelise the policy they hoped for. But please remember that huge boom to learn bahasa Malay took place among Japanese ppl in Japan hoping to develop friendly relation with Indonesian and Malaysian ppl. There was no concept among Japanese ordinary ppl to conquer Asian ppl because they believed the slogan back then that Every Ethnic live together and prosper. The time to spend to learn bahasa Malay easily exceeded the time to learn English back then. I'm not trying to justify IPJ's actions against Indonesian ppl but wanted to show different perspective, too.

Thats cause most of the Indonesian native soldiers deserted. They didn't like the white colonisers and sided with the Japanese

Doesn't usually apply to colonial troops, especially if they're on the other side of the map.
