Sandra, I was driving home, had stayed at my friend’s too late and I listened to this the whole way. You all sang beautifully and just what I needed for encouragement. Thank you to you all, how wonderful to share songs that uplift and are about God! Thank you! I was very comforted!
Happy Sabbath Sandra. I tune into many of your Sabbath sing-a-longs ever since when the Covid lockdowns started. I have to share this sort of comical story with you. I was listening to this weeks Sabbath-sing-a-long yesterday early evening. And every so often I would hear this smoke alarm beep sound go off. My dog, Misty, freaks out whenever a smoke alarm does its low battery beep. Seriously! And we kept hearing it, so I would pause the video, sometimes for even a 1/2hr, to listen and try to figure out where it was coming from. We found nothing. No beep. Then I’d resume the video, and would hear the beep again… while my dog was fretting. This went on for over 2hrs. Finally, tired and it was gettin late, I went to bed and planned to finish up the video Sabbath morning. All night long, no beep. Then this morning as I was singing along with your video, I heard it again; as my dog goes into freaked out zone. I paused the video and insisted that my 2 teens help me figure out which smoke detector was beeping. My son checks them all. There ok. I resume the video. My son starts laughing, and tells me that the beep is coming from the video! I’m like … “no way. He backs the video up a bit and shows me. Oh my… it was coming from the video. Somewhere in the background, there was the sound of a smoke detector or something beeping about ever so often. So my dog was actually hearing ‘that’ beep and going into her freak mode thinking it was here. All is well now that we have it figured out. Dog will be fine. Happy Sabbath 🙏💕

Old Rugged Cross (NEW VERSION) Lyrics adapted by Glenda McClintock On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff’ring and shame; And I love that God gave His Dearest and Best As the lamb for lost sinners He came So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross As my burdens at last I lay down I will cling to the God of the cross And rejoice that He now wears a crown Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world Is a wondrous example to see For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above And died to save you and save me So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross As my burdens at last I lay down I will cling to the God of the cross And rejoice that He now wears a crown On that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, A God of pure beauty I see, For ‘twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me. So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross As my burdens at last I lay down I will cling to the God of the cross And rejoice that He now wears a crown To the God of the cross, I will ever be true; His shame and reproach gladly bear Then He’ll call me someday to my home far away, Where His glory forever I’ll share So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross As my burdens at last I lay down I will cling to the God of the cross And rejoice that He now wears a crown
I have also noticed that some have changed a lyric in the song" In the cross" from 'raptured soul' to rescued soul. Also while I am writing, I have requested this song a few times but I know it is impossible to keep up with all requests. We used this song as a theme song for a Week of Prayer at Karalundi many years ago, it's Step by Step by Rich Mullins. Thanks

Old Rugged Cross (NEW VERSION)
Lyrics adapted by Glenda McClintock
On a hill far away
stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suff’ring and shame;
And I love that God gave
His Dearest and Best
As the lamb for lost sinners He came
So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross
As my burdens at last I lay down
I will cling to the God of the cross
And rejoice that He now wears a crown
Oh, that old rugged cross,
so despised by the world
Is a wondrous example to see
For the dear Lamb of God
left His glory above
And died to save you and save me
So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross
As my burdens at last I lay down
I will cling to the God of the cross
And rejoice that He now wears a crown
On that old rugged cross,
stained with blood so divine,
A God of pure beauty I see,
For ‘twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross
As my burdens at last I lay down
I will cling to the God of the cross
And rejoice that He now wears a crown
To the God of the cross,
I will ever be true;
His shame and reproach gladly bear
Then He’ll call me someday
to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share
So I’ll cherish God’s gift on the cross
As my burdens at last I lay down
I will cling to the God of the cross
And rejoice that He now wears a crown
